Allison
I lay in bed, still thinking about what had happened today. Nina still hadn’t come back home, but that wasn’t unusual. My mind wandered to Jayden and the phone call that had left me feeling uneasy. I had seen his apology message, but I had decided to ignore him. He wasn’t worth my time anymore.
I couldn’t believe I had called him and almost told him that I wanted him. What was I thinking? I was kind of glad that Yvonne interfered. Also, I had almost blocked him, but something had held me back.
Just then, a knock at the door broke the silence. My heart skipped a beat, wondering if it was Jayden. I slowly got out of bed and made my way to the door, whispering, “Who is that?”
The voice on the other side replied, “It’s me, Colby.”
I quickly opened the door to find a smiling Colby on the other side. “Oh my goodness, Colby!” I exclaimed, hugging him tightly. He hugged me back, and afterward, I invited him in.
“Would you like something to eat or drink?” I asked. “I’ve got cookies, and I think a bottle of apple juice?”
“I’m okay, thanks,” he replied. “I just wanted to say hi. It’s been a while since I’ve seen you.”
I smiled and nodded, feeling warmth in his presence.
Colby coughed slightly, his expression turning serious. “Are you alright, by the way?” he asked.
I paused for a moment before responding, “Yeah, I’m alright. Why?”
He sighed deeply. “I heard about what happened between you and my sister.
When I see her, I’ll definitely give her a warning. I’m so sorry.”
“No, don’t bother warning her or anything,” I said quickly, shaking my head. “Also, it’s not your fault, Colby. You don’t have to apologize.”
Just then, his phone rang, and he answered the call immediately.
After finishing the call, Colby looked up at me and said, “I need to head out. My coach just called – we’re celebrating one of our teammate’s birthdays today.”
I nodded, and we both stood up.
Before heading to the door, Colby asked, “Mind if I give you a hug?”
“But you already hugged me when you arrived,” I said, laughing softly.
He smiled, giving a slight nod. “I know that, but that one was too quick. We were both just excited to see each other. This one is going to be sincere. A hug between friends and long-time neighbors.”
I gave a small smile, nodding my head, and he wrapped his arms around me, one hand on the back of my head and the other around my waist. I hugged him back, my arms around his waist.
Just as we were savoring the moment, my phone rang – it was obviously Jayden. I tried to pull away to answer it, but Colby held me close. “Please, just five more minutes,” he whispered.
“Okay,” I whispered back.
The phone made a chiming sound, signaling an incoming message, but I couldn’t let go of the hug. I’d promised Colby five more minutes.
Just a minute or two later, the door suddenly swung open, revealing Jayden, who stood frozen, his eyes wide with shock.
I was caught off guard when he suddenly appeared, his eyes blazing with anger. He strode forward, pulling Colby away from me, and spun him around to scrutinize his face.
Jayden’s gaze narrowed, his grip on my wrist tightening. “Who the hell are you?” he demanded, his voice low and menacing. “And Allison, why were you hugging him? Are you two dating now?”
I felt a surge of anger at his possessiveness. I yanked my hand out of his grasp and stepped forward, taking Colby’s hand in mine.
“Yes, we are dating,” I replied coolly, meeting Jayden’s glare. “And you need to leave. I don’t want to see you here. Go back to Yvonne, your wonderful girlfriend.”
Dammit! I could sense the sarcasm dripping off my words. Hope I wasn’t being jealous?
Jayden simply leaned in close to me, whispering against my ear, “Let’s talk later.” He left without causing a scene.
I turned to Colby, noticing his smile as he looked down. I quickly released his hand and asked, “Is everything okay?”
Colby looked up, the smile disappearing immediately. “What’s that?” he replied.
“I saw you smiling,” I said. “Why are you smiling?”
“Nothing,” he replied, shaking his head. “Just remembered something.”
“Oh, and by the way, I’m sorry about that,” I apologized.
“What’s for?” he asked, raising an eyebrow.
“For saying you’re my boyfriend. I had to do that because… well, it’s just a pain in the neck,” I explained.
“Nah,” he smiled, shaking his head. “It’s not a problem seriously. By the way, who is he?”
I hesitated before answering, “My stepbrother.”
Colby’s eyes widened. “Oh, I’ve heard about him. Jayden, right?”
“Yeah,” I replied.
Colby smiled. “Alright then, I’m leaving now. Okay?”
“Okay. Good night,” I said.
I waved goodbye as Colby left, then slumped back onto my bed. I picked up my phone and saw Jayden’s message. I let out a deep sigh, putting my phone aside as I stared blankly at the ceiling.
As I stared blankly at the ceiling, my mind kept drifting back to Jayden. I couldn’t shake the memories of his kiss, his touch, and the way he made me feel yesterday. Why have I been thinking about this? It’s really getting serious and out of mind.
I’d tried to push the thoughts away, but they lingered, refusing to leave.
“Stop thinking about him already!” I exclaimed in frustration, yanking at my hair. “What’s wrong with you, Allison!”
Why couldn’t I forget about him? He’d made me so angry… and yet, here I was, obsessing over someone else’s boyfriend… and my stepbrother.
“Get out of my mind, Jayden!” I muttered to myself, tears brimming in my eyes.
However, he refused to leave my mind, no matter how hard I tried to shake him off. I tossed and turned in bed, but he lingered, haunting my thoughts. I couldn’t take it anymore.
“I can’t hold it anymore!” I exclaimed, throwing off the covers.
I dashed out of the room, racing down the corridor. As I ran, I collided with Nina, and she greeted me with a wave, asking, “Hey, what’s up Allison? Where are you off to?”
But I was too distracted to respond. My mind was a jumbled mess, and I barely registered Nina’s presence. I ignored her and ran past, leaving her staring after me in concern.
I finally arrived at Jayden’s hostel, but since I didn’t know his room number, I had to ask around for directions. After a few inquiries, I made my way to his room.
As I climbed the stairs, my exhaustion grew. I was panting by the time I reached his floor. I took a deep breath, steadied myself, and knocked on the door.
He opened it, and looked really surprised to see me. “Allison?” he asked, his eyebrows furrowed.
I took another deep breath before speaking. “I don’t think I can do this, Jayden. I’ve been thinking about you lately… you’re really irresistible. I think I have no choice but to accept you.”
Jayden’s expression changed from surprise to curiosity. “Accept me as what?” he asked, his voice low and husky.
I swallowed hard, my heart racing. “Accept you as my sex partner,” I replied, my voice velvety. Without waiting for a response, I held the sides of his face, my mouth crashing onto his in a passionate, urgent kiss.
