Archer
I’ve never felt this way about anyone before. Never wanted anyone on such a visceral level that it almost feels like she’s a part of me.
I wait impatiently for her return, and when she does return, she’s empty handed. “No luck?” I ask.
“She not in the bathroom or out front.” Her brow furrows. “I don’t get it.”
Less than a minute later, Azira appears looking flushed pink and sits down on the other side of Adrianna. “Where were you?”
Azira turns even redder. “I went to the bathroom and then went to the bar, but the queue was so big I gave up.”
Oak has disappeared now, so it seems like there’s never all of us there at the table. I notice he’s standing at the bar with Bly having what looks like a stern conversation.
“So, how are you girls enjoying your night out on the town?”
Adrianna replies, “I’d be enjoying it much more if we weren’t out with our professors.”
Oak and Blaine return with their drinks, and Bly sits down next to Azira, giving her an odd look.
“We need to liven up this party right away. How about a beer drinking contest?” I suggest.
Adrianna straightens. “If you want to lose, sure.”
“I’ve never met someone as competitive as me before I met you, Miss Vasquez.”
Adrianna grabs my beer and chugs it in two in front of my eyes, which I must admit is fast.
I clench my jaw. “You owe me a beer now.”
She smirks. “First to finish doesn’t pay.”
I nod. “Okay, but I’ll wipe the floor with you.”
“Quit now, Daniels. No one can beat me at drinking games.”
“It’s true,” Eva says, leaning forward slightly. “She beats all the guys at beer chugging.”
I frown at the two of them, knowing I’ll never live it down if she does best for me. “Challenge accepted.” I signal for the waitress, noticing and ignoring the looks Oak gives me. “Two large beers, please.”
She nods in response, clearly rushed off her feet and heads to the bar to get the drinks.
“How are you even a professor when you act like a fucking child?” Bly asks.
He’s always such an asshole. “How are you a professor when you’re such a sadistic son of a bitch?”
Oak clears his throat. “I never thought I’d be sitting in a bar with my two adult friends and find that the more mature guests are students. Stop being idiots.”
I ignore the glare that Bly gives me as he drinks his whiskey. He’s quickly distracted by Azira and if I didn’t know my friend better, I’d say he was into her, but Bly never goes for students.
“Seriously, when are you going to grow up though, Arch?” Oak asks.
“Are you suggesting I’m immature?”
Oak tilts his head. “Don’t even pretend you aren’t. You’re about to participate in a drinking game with an eighteen-year-old.”
“And your point is?”
He sighs in defeat and turns his attention to his drink. Meanwhile, Adrianna turns to me. “What beer did you order? I hope it was Budweiser.”
I shake my head. “I just ordered beer and was pretty sure they only serve Heineken here.”
“Heineken is shit.”
I tilt my head. “Does it really matter when you are chugging it? I prefer it to Budweiser, to be honest.”
“Principal Byrne, what do you think? Heineken or Budweiser,” Adrianna asks.
Oak wrinkles his nose. “Neither.”
Adrianna sighs, glancing at Eva, who shakes her head. “Don’t ask me.”
“What do you think, Azira?”
Azira looks like someone shot her. “About what?”
“What beer is better, Budweiser or Heineken?”
“You know I don’t drink beer.”
At that moment, the waitress returns with the two large Heineken. “Thanks,” I say, passing one to Adrianna, who takes it begrudgingly.
“Rules are simple. First to finish the beer wins,” Oak says.
“Yeah, that’s generally how this works,” I say, sarcastically, which results in a scolding look from my boss.
“Shall I count you in?” Eva asks.
I glance at Adrianna. “Are you ready?”
“Always.”
I nod and tighten my grasp on my beer. “Yeah, count us in.”
“On three okay?”
We both nod, watching each other intently.
“One. Two. Three!”
I bring the beer to my mouth and chug it as fast as physically possible for me, but somehow Adrianna slams the glass down a good few seconds before me.
“Have that!”
“Motherfucker,” I growl, hating that I got beat by her.
“I’m afraid Adrianna is the winner,” Oak announces, smirking at me, which only makes me more angry.
I’m ready to claim Adrianna right here in front of everyone, humiliate her the way she humiliated me.
Adrianna smirks at me, but she won’t be smiling later when I force her to open her legs for my cock. “I told you no one can beat me.”
“You’re particularly cocky tonight, Adrianna.”
Oak chuckles. “She beat you. She has a reason to be cocky, doesn’t she?
“Whatever.”
Bly stands suddenly. “I’m getting another drink. Anyone need one?”
“Get a round in on my tab,” Oak says.
