Chapter 350 You Can’t Die
Ten minutes later, more than a dozen police cars roared into the warehouse, rescuing Sophia and the others.
Several female police officers who got out of the cars, upon seeing the bloody scene, immediately ran to a corner to retch, though nothing came out.
Meanwhile, Sophia’s group cheered, especially the young women who had been detained for days. Seeing themselves rescued made them happier than winning the lottery.
They had thought they would suffer countless hardships, sold to remote areas as prostitutes, with no hope for happiness in this life.
Who knew that in their moment of despair, they would gain freedom? They couldn’t hold back their tears, and the children burst into loud crying.
Sophia also wiped her tears, feeling both relieved and anxious, wondering if the masked person would be caught and sentenced. After all, he killed so many people.
Then, several ambulances arrived, some to care for the six unconscious infants, while others to check Sophia and her group for injuries.
Soon, Judith appeared as well.
After a quick survey of the scene, she determined it was a stronghold of traffickers. When she learned what Sophia and the others had been through, she became even more furious.
With her fiery temper, she immediately wanted to grab a few traffickers and kick the hell out of them, but Kameron informed her there was only one survivor, and he was unconscious.
Judith’s expression grew serious upon hearing this.
Only one survivor?
Although it was righteous to eliminate such evil, the person seemed excessively brutal.
She also noticed that ninety percent of the victims died from a single fatal blow, but a few had been stabbed more than ten times, and one had been decapitated, suggesting some degree of torture.
“A supreme master.”
Kameron shared his assessment with Judith. “They gave these people almost no chance to fight back. Many couldn’t even draw their knives or guns before being killed.”
“One of them died from a blade driven straight through the heart, piercing the phone in his chest along the way. That means the killer’s strength was terrifying.”
“I asked several people-it was a masked person in black who killed them. He then called the police before leaving the warehouse.”
Hearing this, Judith said softly, “Ruthless execution, not a single loose end-this style… why is it so similar to that bastard’s?”
“Captain Meech, you suspect Darnell again? He’s human, not a god. How could he know this place was a stronghold of traffickers?” Kameron gave a bitter smile. “Even if he knew, with his personality, he would use the police to eliminate them. He’s too lazy to do this himself.”
“Darnell… Darnell is still in the back. They took Darnell away!”
Before Kameron finished speaking, Sophia suddenly remembered something and cried out in panic.
“Officer, my friend was taken away by them.”
“I just heard screams. Please hurry and save him, save him.”
Tears welled up in Sophia’s eyes. “He can’t be hurt. He absolutely cannot be hurt.”
If anything happened to Darnell, Sophia wouldn’t know how to face Garrett. It was her fault Darnell got involved.
“What? Darnell is here too?”
Kameron was shocked. How was this guy involved in everything? The jewelry store robbery wasn’t even settled, and now there was another case.
When Judith heard Sophia’s words, her hand holding a small knife trembled. She immediately drew her gun and rushed to the back.
When she reached the pit, several police officers were driving away the dogs and pulling up a half-eaten arm along with a red garment.
Judith’s face turned pale at the sight of the red clothing.
Without careful examination, she thought the red garment belonged to Darnell.
“Darnell, Darnell.”
At this moment, Sophia also rushed over. Seeing the red clothing, she immediately screamed, “This is Darnell’s clothes! Darnell…”
She saw the blood-mouthed dogs and the bloody arm, instinctively assuming Darnell was torn to pieces by the dogs. Her steps faltered, and she nearly fell.
“Bang! Bang! Bang!”
Judith grabbed a police gun, and with two guns in hand, fearlessly jumped into the pit, firing a barrage of bullets at the dogs.
Amid the gun smoke, all twenty-three dogs perished, shocking the officers, who hadn’t expected Captain Meech to be so fierce.
Judith threw away the guns without bullets and rushed like an arrow to the kennels, kicking and shouting, “Darnell, Darnell, Darnell!”
“Where are you? Bastard, get out here!”
She was hysterical and frantic.
Judith kicked open the kennel, found no Darnell, and rushed to other corners, shouting, “I didn’t let you die, so you can’t die.”
“You can’t die-”
Sophia was slightly stunned, looking thoughtfully at Judith.
Several officers also jumped down to help search. At first glance, the pit contained nothing but scattered limbs and bloodstained clothes-no sign of any living person. But seeing Judith frantically digging through the mess like a woman possessed, none of them dared to stand by and do nothing.
Kameron, who had arrived upon hearing the news, also anxiously called out, “Mr. Halford, where are you?”
“Captain Meech, Sophia, and Kameron, what are you all doing?”
Just then, from a passage above the pit, connecting to the kitchen area, a figure appeared, holding a porcelain bowl. It was none other than Darnell.
The bowl contained noodles topped with two eggs and a drumstick. He was gulping down the soup, then picked up the drumstick and bit into it.
With one bite, a large piece of meat entered his mouth. He ate with great relish, then curiously muttered,
“These aggressive dogs have eaten humans. Perhaps putting them down would be for the best.”
Sophia was overjoyed. “Darnell, you’re still alive!”
Kameron also looked at Darnell with delight.
Darnell took another bite of the drumstick and chuckled, “I followed their instructions so well, how could anything happen to me? Look! They even invited me to eat.”
“But I had barely taken two bites when I heard a noise, and they all ran out.”
“Leaving me alone in the kitchen to cook noodles.”
Darnell had an innocent look. “I don’t know what happened out there.”
Although Sophia felt something was off with Darnell, seeing that he was safe was a huge relief. “Thank goodness you’re okay.”
Kameron smiled helplessly. Although he also found it bizarre that traffickers would invite Darnell to eat, seeing him safe dispelled all his doubt.
“Clank!”
Judith climbed up from the pit after she saw Darnell. She finally realized that the red clothing was just blood-stained, giving the false impression that Darnell had met with misfortune.
Feeling embarrassed by her outburst, she walked over to Darnell with an indifferent expression and smacked the bowl out of his hand.
“I don’t know how you can eat noodles after what’s happened!”
The porcelain bowl hit the ground, shattering into pieces. The noodles and soup splattered, leaving Darnell, who was biting into the drumstick, stunned.
