“I want to know about Christopher Gale. Tell me everything.”
I knew that what Claire wanted to know was about Christopher Gale. This did not surprise me, but I didn’t expect Claire to ask me about this directly. In fact, I initially thought that she would find out directly from the people connected to that Alpha, but I was wrong.
“Alright, what do you want to know about that person?”
“Is it true that he’s a fake Alpha?”
“I think yeah, they say so.”
“But why? Is he not the true successor of the Pack he currently leads?”
“The Moon Fall Pack was supposed to have an Alpha female for that, but they hid her somewhere and until now, no one knows the whereabouts of the last descendant of Alpha Jacob Wensiker.”
“Doesn’t the void have to be filled? Was I wrong?”
I shook my head. “No, you’re not. I mean, not at all, the vacancy must be filled, because if the Alpha position is vacant for too long, then it will affect the Pack itself.”
“Please explain more specifically.”
I looked at her. Her body was still naked; not a single piece of clothing was left there, and even the kiss marks I left behind had now started to turn blue slowly. Her tits were swollen, and I couldn’t make her show them to me all the time. So, I quickly pulled up the blanket and made her cover her body.
“What kind of specifics do you want to know? I don’t really interfere with what happens to other Packs.” I tried to limit our conversation.
“Why is se looking at me with that look at the first time we met?”
What is this? Does she realize that she’s actually the person I’m referring to? I thought.
“It’s because I have two women in my packhouse. Of course that puts a big question in his head, and that look will naturally cause feelings of dislike, despite the fact that you are my Luna.”
Claire wrinkled her forehead. It looked like she was sulking over something she should have already thought of, but look at that. She was grumbling. “You make it all sound like a riddle.”
“I only did it because I was curious.” I replied with a chuckle.
“What are you laughing at? If it wasn’t for someone, then I wouldn’t have been there and interfered with your relationship with Lucy Torrance.”
“Why would you say such a thing?”
“Because if it wasn’t for those people killing the sisters, as well as the orphans, my family! I would probably still be in the church dormitory, with them.”
I felt sympathetic; it felt like I was the guilty one here for doing what led Christopher Gale to come to that small town. But I didn’t expect it to feel like an uncomfortable pressure as if I was the one who had screwed up in this whole situation.
“You won’t become anyone if you stay in that place, and you’ll only make yourself persecuted all the time by people who don’t like you. It’s too much to be a heartless person.” I said as I stood up.
I had already warned her not to take too many steps with me setting boundaries. So, ending this conversation now didn’t seem like a big deal for us. However, Claire grabbed my hand, stopping me from moving away from her.
“You can’t keep denying this, I need to know immediately who killed the sisters and orphans!”
Oh, look at her. She still hasn’t given up on knowing. She also looks earnest for what I know but never said. It made me feel guilty about everything I did to her, but was the decision to tell her the best one? Considering that Claire might hate me after this.
“Give me one month, then I’ll tell you exactly who that person is.”
“Why buy that much time? What can’t you do now?”
“You know that I’m in business now, there’s nothing better than making money.”
“But you must also know that they’re following us?!”
“Who are you talking about?”
“Christopher Gale!” she said in a tone that sounded certain. “You know that he follows us all the time, like when we were in Shanghai.”
This really sucks. I can’t say I didn’t know that after Claire revealed it. And I also can’t let myself be in a situation where I can’t be in danger. Because when I’m trapped, Claire will leave me with all the hatred she feels.
No, she won’t. It’s not like I’m afraid of losing her, but for now, it’s just that she’s all I have for all the unknown.
“Christopher Gale met you?”
“Yes! When I came back from the restroom, at the night market that time. He said something I didn’t understand, but I’m sure that there’s something about this that I should know.” She said.
I understand this is no longer about curiosity. But rather an introspection, and now Claire was introspecting me about Christopher Gale meeting her with all those useless words he said, and also, today.
“That’s why I kept you with me, I didn’t want him to find you.” I lie to her.
“Why? Tell me, tell me!”
“He wants to kill you.”
“Wh-why he want to kill me?”
“That’s what I’m trying to figure out. Therefore, give me a month to figure it out.” I argued.
Even though it was a lie, it wasn’t a hundred per cent a lie because I might say it after a month. Because as I thought, the longer I kept this in, the further I would let Claire walk away.
“Do you want to take a shower with me?” I tried to tease, reversing the situation, and this time, I held her hand while she looked panicked.
Her face flushed, and I could smile at the sight of her panicking. And playing up the shyness that she only shows when she’s in front of me it’s exciting.
Ignoring her resistance, I quickly grabbed her hand, picked her up and carried her to the bathroom. She screamed when I picked her up; the blanket she held dangled, interrupting my steps, so I quickly pulled the blanket off with my mouth until it fell to the floor.
“What the hell are you doing?!” she protested.
“Wouldn’t it be better if you took a shower without wearing anything? It would be easier to clean.” I grinned, and Claire immediately covered her chest, her face downcast in embarrassment. It looked amusing to me, as I had seen everything from her.
“Stop looking! It’s embarrassing!” she grumbled again.
This was so crazy. I could have attacked her again but feared she’d be too tired. And seeing her blush like this made me even more excited. Damn it! How could I have missed having such a cute Luna like this?
