Ethan’s P. O. V
Frankruurte Restaurant is a famous spot in this city. It’s a fancy place that anyone would recognize just from the name. But I asked Christopher Gale to meet me there in an hour because I wanted to get ready, put on my expensive suit, or make a reservation with their gourmet menu.
No. That’s not what I planned at all. The main reason for stalling the meeting was to ensure Danny took Claire as far as possible. The closer we got to that fake Alpha, the higher the chance that bastard would nab Claire.
Moreover, what exactly did Christopher Gale teach his Wolves Warriors that made them lack basic manners toward me, an Alpha? Is it because they have immense confidence from being part of the powerful Moon Fall Pack that they think they can treat me, another Alpha of a big Pack, with such disrespect?
“If they don’t have that fear, then I’ll be the one to instil it in them,” I muttered as I continued driving.
My phone rang again. It was Danny. I quickly answered, and Danny told me he had taken Claire away from any secluded areas and kept her in crowded places.
I did tell him that, but my nerves were still on edge. Even though I trusted Danny and my Warriors to protect Claire, Christopher Gale could still harm her.
“Keep her safe. I’ll do whatever it takes to stall Christopher Gale so he doesn’t get near her.”
“You’re trying to impress me, Alpha.”
“What do you mean?”
“Nothing. You can do anything. We’ll meet you at the hotel as agreed.”
I didn’t quite get what Danny meant, but I agreed to meet at the hotel after everything was settled.
I ended the call and got ready to face Christopher Gale, the fake Alpha, at Frankruurte Restaurant, where I told him we’d meet. I didn’t prepare much to meet the man, but when I arrived, I was greeted by many Wolves Warriors, and he had already set up he had already set up a reservation I hadn’t made-quite a surprise.
Not only was the table reserved, but the food was also prepared.
“I’m surprised you went to all this trouble just to talk to me,” I said. He smiled, raised his hand, and a waiter poured champagne for us.
“I’m just trying to give the best so I can get the best,” he replied.
“I didn’t expect you to be so confident, Alpha Christopher.”
“Fake Alpha,” he said, surprising me for a moment. “Isn’t that what everyone says behind my back when they think they can’t handle the situation? Am I right?”
“You’re overreacting. How could you get such a title when your Warriors aren’t polite enough to talk to me properly?”
“Have they spoken badly to you?”
“No, just a bit forcefully,” I said, which made Christopher Gale’s smile disappear. “But can you remind them that even though I’m here alone, without any Warriors, do I always need to remind them who they’re talking to?”
He glanced at his Warriors, looking annoyed, as if what I said could jeopardize his position. I knew how to play Christopher Gale but couldn’t shake his standing as an Alpha, even if he were a fake Alpha of the Moon Fall Pack.
“Well, I’ll apologize for my Warrior’s recent mistake. I hope I can punish them appropriately and with dignity to teach them that what they did was wrong,” he said.
I smiled. “This is amusing,” I said.
“Pardon?”
“You pushed to meet me, chasing me to the Philippines, but when we were in Shanghai, why didn’t you come to see me there? I had a much better place than this restaurant.”
“Was my presence so overpowering that you could sense me there?”
“You’re not someone who respects privacy enough not to go anywhere in this world, including my Pack.”
“Do you think I would cause trouble?”
“With the way you keep tailing us? I think yes, and I hope you never approach my Luna again.”
“The unwanted Luna, remember?”
This isn’t very pleasant. Of course, I’ll never forget how I rejected Claire Halle. But I’ve never told her that, so to this day, she’s still my Luna.
“Speaking of the agreement we discussed earlier, how about I make a better offer?” Christopher Gale poured champagne into my empty glass.
“Were my words not clear enough for you back then, Alpha Christopher?”
“They were too clear, which made me think you might have miscalculated. Can we ease up and make us both feel fortunate in all aspects? Because, as you know, our business isn’t just about selling chocolate bars door-to-door for twenty cents each.”
I chuckled lightly. I raised my newly filled champagne glass, swirling it while looking at that old man’s face through the glass. “Do you know, Alpha Christopher, that a cathedral would still take in some old folks and homeless people?”
Christopher Gale’s face changed instantly. He was angry and offended, and I could feel an intense killing aura radiating from him. Yet, it wasn’t enough to scare me because he’s not the real Alpha. He’s just a fake.
“Aren’t your words too excessive, Alpha Ethan?” he asked.
“Too excessive if you think so, but far more reasonable than believing you can control everything,” I replied.
“Then what do you want?”
He’s finally fallen for what I’m doing. I thought he would give me a hard time, but he doesn’t hold any sway over me. He might be an Alpha, but he’s a fake Alpha. He even mercilessly killed the Beta, who should have taken his place, proving that Christopher Gale is not a true Alpha.
“Stay away from her. She’s my Luna, and I’ll never let her go to you to die.”
My words were clear enough to make him silent. I also knew this might be the most foolish decision I had ever made in negotiating with someone. Alone and without any advisor to listen to.
I drank the champagne I hadn’t touched since earlier, finished it, and moved to leave while he remained silent in his seat.
