Mary Davies
Rumors were spreading like wildfire in the whole school. It was said that the principal was going to nominate prefects from the senior year and the juniors are going to vote in their choice.
The hallway was kind of filled up with students, the juniors were loitering around the school premises. I could hear the gossips, some juniors were in support of Queen, the most popular girls. Queen might turn out to be the senior prefect girl, she has the game already and of course Hawk Andrews will be the senior prefect boy, that fact is so glaring.
For the first time in a long period of time, I walked towards the locker room. I could feel eyes on me but I still kept on moving, deep down in my heart, I want to be nominated as a prefect. This should help me our, colleges will soon start scouting for students to give scholarship. Being a perfect would put the word out for me, at least I will get noticed. I am a straight A student and it won’t be hard. But if the juniors were voting, I will have to win their hearts by getting close to them.
Come on Mary! You have not been nominated yet.
I sighed heavily, agreeing with my conscience.
“Look who we have here, oh my goodness it is the loser. Everyone run for your life before you get infected with the loser disease.” I heard a familiar voice say sarcastically.
“She is so rude, why did she walk in here without a second thought. Queen we should teach her a lesson when you become the senior prefect girl.” Tailey said.
Of course the queen bees would be here, they were always ready to make one’s life miserable.
“Just look at how she is dressed, I really want to whack her around the cheeks.” Ashley added.
“But wait a minute, that red crop top looks exactly like yours Tailey. But yours is blue.” Ashley said, pointing to my top. I let out a deep breath.
“Oh my goodness, now I want to puke.” Tailey screamed, running off to probably change her top.
Students began hustling and bustling down the locker room, some pretended not to notice what was going on, while some just stared.
“Do you think a poor creature like you can afford what we wear, our tastes is different. You wear fake clothes and mostly used rag.”
“I still don’t understand why someone hideous like you can be admitted into this school.”
“Are you on your periods today Queen, aren’t you too cranky and loud today.” Queen turns her head to where the voice came from and so did I.
Jeremy, Hawks friend was standing at the exit part of the locker room.
“You were so calm and gentle last night, very submissive. It would have been nice to see this part of you in bed.”
Queen turned almost red, what Jeremy said was meant for both of them, but seems like everyone in the locker room heard. I cringed, Queen was really sleeping around with the two friends. I wonder if Hawk knows about this.
“And who do we have here.” Jeremy said, walking towards me.
“The loser,” he added, offering a lopsided smile.
“I think I have something that belongs to you,” that statement made my eyes widened. How come, I thought.
I didn’t believe what he was saying, it was not even possible. As if he could read my mind. He brought out a piece of paper from his pocket. I could recognize that handwriting anywhere, it was mine. That paper was taken out of my old diary, I gasped as I realized I probably didn’t take that diary when I packed my things from the room. I thought I made sure I didn’t leave anything behind.
But how did he get it, only two people ran across my mind. Jessica or Hawk.
“You seem to have a very good taste in men. Who the hell as a boyfriend list.” Jeremy teased.
“Boyfriend list.” Queen drawled out sardonically, she began to laugh. I felt embarrassed. I wrote a boyfriend list last year, the list had the qualities I wanted in a boyfriend. I look up into the eyes of Jeremy, the smirk on his face shows he has seen the names of every boy I listed and their scores, none of them met with my qualities. I was kind of scared, Hawks name was the last on the list. I mentally blamed myself for adding his name.
“Come on Jeremy, read it out.” Ashley yelled.
“Sadly, we only know just one person in the list of boys written down here. I am going to read it out now.”
“Hawk Andrews!” Jeremy said out, chuckling.
I sank my teeth into my lips, I didn’t write nice things about Hawk Andrews. I didn’t want Jeremy to read those loud.
“Facial look and body, well. Hawk got a ten, side comments. He is so hot and I want to eat all of him.” Jeremy read out. I began to hear laughter. The hall room began to get crowded.
“Kindness, Hawk got a zero. Side comments; He is so scary, almost like a monster.”
I wish he could stop reading out the rates and side comments.
“Trustworthy, Hawk got a zero again. Side comments. I can’t even trust him with my life.”
My heart kept racing as Jeremy read the rates out.
“Sense of humor, zero rated. Side comments; I believe his sense of humor is dead. Ouch! That hurts.”
“Likeness or Love,” Jeremy paused and began to laugh continuously.
“The loser must have been leaving in a delusion. Three rated. Side comments; I think he likes me, maybe or maybe not.” He read out the rest.
“The nerd wants a boyfriend? Someone needs to remind her Hawk Andrews is way out of her league.” Ashley said scoffing.
“Are you obsessed with him or you have a crush on him? You should know your place, you are a nobody.”
“Listen to me loser, even if you are the last girl on earth. Hawk Andrews will never fuck a loser like you. You irritate me.” Queen yelled into my face.
I covered my ears trying to shut them out, why is this happening to me. I couldn’t wait any longer. I ran as fast as my leg could carry me.
