Ella’s POV
“Come here, you little cute devils.” I yelled at the boys as they ran around the living room.
I couldn’t believe that we had newly moved in here in the past few hours. I wouldn’t have believed it myself if I came to visit someone and saw this pigsty that this place was new some hours ago.
They laughed, still running around and dragging things around. Their toys were strewn all over the floor and no matter how much I shouted, they weren’t ready to listen. I couldn’t wait for Kevin and Liam to come back so I could leave them in their care and have something else to focus on.
They were not driving me crazy anymore. They had already driven me crazy and I was only an inch close to losing it.
“Nathan, Neo, Nick, the three of you wouldn’t like yourself if I stand up from here and pounce on you.” I sighed, narrowing my eyes at them. I didn’t even have the energy to shout at them in me.
I had shouted my lungs out minutes ago that I feared my vocal chords were going to get ruptured if I continued doing that. I didn’t want to take that chance even though I knew I was going to be healed by my werewolf gene.
“Stand! Stand! Stand!” The boys started chanting and I knew I had messed up. I had talked myself into their will.
That was exactly what they wanted and I had threatened to do just that. They were excited now and I knew they wouldn’t be giving up anytime soon. Can the men come home already so I could take a break from the boys and their antics? I wondered what was keeping them waiting as they had been gone for a very long time.
“Mummy, stand.” Nathan urged.
“Mummy, pounce.” Neo smirked.
“Mum, we are waiting.” Nick grinned.
I shook my head at their antics. Those naughty little creatures. They were being funny but I was too tired to laugh at them.
I breathed in relief when they stepped in. Thank goodness, I sighed as I dropped my hand from my head on its way to start running my temples and loosen the knots around it.
“What is going on here?” Kevin asked as he walked in, surveying the whole room, his eyes going wide with horror at the disarray in the room.
Liam looked like he couldn’t believe this was where he had walked out a few minutes ago. I smiled, trying my best to hide it but failing. He was welcome to my world, mine and that of the nannies and maids who took care of the boys’ messes. I missed them already and I knew I would have traveled with one of them if we knew that we wouldn’t be going home after seeing the red witch.
It would be a hassle letting someone else know that the alpha had to regain his lost ten years but I was sure that we could find someone who was going to be able to keep a secret and letting her live as an aunt to the boys in public just as Liam was living as Kevin’s brother here.
I glanced at Liam again and almost burst out laughing. He looked like he couldn’t believe that my little boys had made such great a damage to the room. I wasn’t sad to let him know that he was going to have to endure this disastrous appearance in the house for more than today.
“Daddy! Uncle Liam!” The boys shouted with glee as they ran towards the duo.
“What have you done to mummy? She looks tired.” Kevin asked as he patted the boys at the back, each of them.
“I look worn out. They have driven me crazy.” I replied, sagging on the chair.
“We only want mummy to play with us.” Neo pouted.
“Mummy is too tired to play with you. Don’t you see how tired she looks? You have your toys with you, why didn’t you play with those?”
“We were bored.”
“Let me give you something fun to do.” Kevin smiled.
The boys cheered and looked eagerly at him, wondering what he was going to say. I chuckled, suspecting what he was going to say but never going to give them a heads up, not after the way they had been naughty with me all day. They deserved what was coming for them.
“This place looks rough so you should fix your mess. The three of you should clean up this place in the next few minutes. The three of us would be in the kitchen.”
I watched as their expressions fell and they looked crushed. They certainly hadn’t been expecting that. I wanted to laugh but refrained from doing that and adding to the pain in their hearts. Next time, they would think twice before scattering the whole house.
“That is not fun, dad.” Neo pouted.
“It would be fun if the three of you do it together.” Liam smiled at them, hiding his own amusement too.
“It would be worth it when you are done tidying up the place and you see how neat and arranged it is.” Kevin added
“You should have said you wanted to punish us.” Nathan sulked.
“Would I buy these for you from the supermarket if I wanted to punish you?” Kevin said as he brought out some cookies from the bag he was holding.
“What is that, dad?” Nick asked, narrowing his eyes.
“They are treats. I hear they are really good.” Kevin replied.
“Let’s start cleaning.” Nick said, urging his brothers. “Mummy, where is the broom?”
“It’s over there.” Neo replied.
I watched as the boys flew into a flurry of activity to get the treats Kevin had bought for them and chuckled. If only they knew that they would still have gotten the treats even if they didn’t rush this much, I thought, but it was nice to see them using that hyperactivity for a good cause.
