Anna’s POV
In the following week, I rushed to Camila’s study every day, tirelessly researching methods to save Tony’s life.
I diligently flipped through one yellowed medical book after another until the seventh day when I found a page with the title “Dreamshade.”
Kevin leaned on the desk, dragging his chin, lazily saying, “Anna, even if you don’t find a solution, no one will blame you.”
I ignored him, fingers moving down rows of densely packed text, stopping at the section titled “Measures After Poisoning.”
For patients in a dream for more than 48 hours, only active venom can treat them.
I fell into contemplation. In other words, ordinary herbal juices cannot counteract Dreamshade. Only a life-infused liquid can survive in Tony’s body, purging the toxins throughout his system.
“Have you found the answer?”
I nodded, packed medical supplies, and hurried to Zachary’s house, hoping that there was still time.
Upon reaching the hunter’s house, I knocked on the tightly closed door, receiving no response.
“I can help you. Do you want me to break the door down?” Kevin’s hand rested on my shoulder as he casually suggested.
“Yes, Alpha, I can do it,” Beta Liam chimed in.
I gave them both a disapproving look. Kevin was getting more and more insolent. Only now did I realize how foolish I had been to agree to let them stay here for a month.
“Zachary isn’t at home; I heard he took his son on a trip a few days ago,” a passing farmer informed me.
“On a trip?” I frowned with concern.
“Yes, his son had been in a deep sleep for three days and nights. Zachary was getting desperate. However, a few days ago, his son suddenly woke up, and Zachary said he wanted to show his son the outside world.” The farmer paused. “But it seemed strange to me. They left in a hurry, and Zachary looked much wearier than someone going on a happy journey. It seemed more like they were completing a certain task.”
I nodded in understanding. Obviously, Zachary did not inform the other werewolves about his son being affected by Dreamshade. Leaving the Blue River Pack was the last wish he fulfilled for his son.
“Do you know where they went?”
“Um… let me think, it’s Utopia… I’m not entirely sure.”
I was puzzled; it was the first time I heard of this place.
“Utopia Town?” Kevin asked.
“Yes! That should be the name.”
After the farmer left, I asked Kevin, “What is Utopia Town?”
“Utopia Town is a massive community located in the northeast of the Blue River Pack. It gathers werewolves, vampires, witches, humans, and various shifters. However, everyone living in this community must have a citizen ID, or else they will be treated as wanderers and detained.” Beta Liam explained.
“Why can a town gather so many races? I’ve never heard of such a place.”
“Yes, Utopia Town is viewed as a rumor by many werewolves, and it’s mysterious. Those who enter Utopia have generally given up their original social circles and hometowns. That place is a super-modernized town, and once you become a resident, you basically live there forever. You must also abide by their regulations. The creator of Utopia established a well-ordered legal society centuries ago, allowing various supernatural beings and humans to coexist amicably.” Liam answered.
“It sounds like a magical place.” I sighed in admiration.
“Anna, if you want to go, I can take you.” Kevin winked at me, as if he truly understood.
“The time is pressing. The most important thing now is to find Zachary and Tony as soon as possible.” I pushed aside Kevin’s arm that had come too close. “The effects of Tony’s medicine will only last half a month at most. If they have already entered Utopia, it will be tricky, especially since I don’t have a citizen ID.”
“Don’t worry. It takes 10 days to travel from the Blue River Pack to Utopia. They should still be on the way.”
After bidding farewell to Camila at the clinic, I, along with Kevin and Liam, set off for Utopia Town.
During the journey, Kevin was excited, constantly chattering and showing off his knowledge, while I occasionally impatiently pushed away his affection. This playboy was adept at flirting with various she-wolves, and if not for my past experiences, I might have fallen for his humorous talk and handsome appearance.
Upon reaching the market, Kevin pulled me into a tailor shop, with Liam quietly following behind.
“Anna, this purple Wrap skirt suits you so well. It can perfectly highlight your figure, and you’ll look beautiful in it.”
I was about to refuse when he continued incessantly, “This blue Flared skirt and that pink Dress are also great. You’ll look cute in them.”
He gestured the clothes onto me, and Liam, standing beside him, gave a thumbs up in agreement. I watched the large package that Liam was carrying on his back and sighed in annoyance.
Then, without my consent, Kevin had the salesperson pack up all the popular dresses in the tailor shop. I stared at the big package on Liam’s back, feeling exasperated.
“Kevin, stop it. I don’t need you to buy me anything. Now, return all of these.”
“Anna, when a man pursues a woman, he always wants to buy the whole world for her. You don’t have to worry about my money; I’m quite wealthy,” Kevin said with a cheeky smile.
I furrowed my brows, glared at him, and ignored him, quickly walking ahead.
On the third day after leaving the Blue River Pack, thanks to Liam’s powerful intelligence network, we found Zachary and Tony in an inn. Tony’s complexion was much paler than before, but his two golden eyes were bright and filled with a smiling face. It seemed that his father really cared for him.
Upon seeing us, Zachary became somewhat wary. “How did you find us here?”
“Zachary, please don’t worry. We are here to help you. I have found a way to treat Tony,” I reassured him.
“R-really?” Zachary widened his eyes in joy.
“Yes, since we couldn’t find you at your home, we heard you came to Utopia, so we rushed over. It concerns Tony’s life, so let’s find a quiet place now.”
“Okay, that’s great!” Zachary joyfully hugged his son, smothering him with kisses on his face. However, Tony, not understanding the situation, pushed away his father with disgust, “Gross, Dad, can you not be so girly?”
“Hahaha, come on, my baby,” Zachary continued to give a few more kisses. Tony, realizing I was laughing, shyly covered his face, “Dad, don’t treat me like a child. Your big beard poked me!”
