Chapter 729: Don’t Forget Who Gave Birth to You

Nova Zealandia, the Walters family estate.
It was always quiet here all year round, away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Only occasionally could one hear the chirping of birds, making it a peaceful place for relaxation.
But today was different because Ulric brought Jake and Floyd back, bringing the laughter of the children to the mansion.
Caesar had been waiting for them in the courtyard ever since he learned that his son was bringing his grandchildren back.
As he grew older, the once-dominant figure now showed a softer and more patient side when he saw his grandchildren.
“He looks just like you, Ulric!” Caesar couldn’t help but want to go over and hug his grandson.
However, Jake didn’t like his grandfather in front of him. He held onto his sister with one hand and clung to Ulric’s pants with the other, refusing to let go.
Ulric knew they were a bit shy, so he didn’t force them to get close to the Walters family.
“Where’s Mom?”
“She’s angry and refuses to come out to see anyone. She’s been causing a scene these past few days! Don’t worry about her.” Caesar had a headache whenever he mentioned it.
He couldn’t understand why his wife made such a fuss over Sirena.
“Is it because you handed Sirena over to me?”
Ulric was smart and immediately guessed.
“Yeah, she blamed me for not consulting her!” Caesar deliberately tested his son’s reaction, whispering, “Actually, your mother has every reason to worry. She’s afraid that Sirena will talk nonsense when she’s in your hands! That woman is capable of anything. To save herself, she might intentionally involve your mother!”
Ulric tugged at his thin lips and lowered his eyes, lost in thought. “Is it just involvement or is it truth?”
“I knew it! Did Sirena say something to you?” Caesar immediately said, “You can’t believe her! We’re family. If you don’t even believe your mother, it will hurt her!”
“I don’t care about other things. I’ve gotten used to Mom being overbearing all these years. But she shouldn’t have laid a hand on Rosalind’s mother.”
“Your mom-”
“Enough. We both know what’s going on.”
Ulric didn’t believe that his father knew nothing at all.
But knowing his mother’s character well, Ulric thought she probably wouldn’t let his father know everything. At most, she would selectively mention a few things.
“What do you mean?” Caesar realized something was wrong and furrowed his brows. “Are you here today with the children to interrogate?”
“I have nothing to interrogate. I’ve seen the evidence in Rosalind’s hands, and I’ve sent someone to verify what Sirena said. As for the rest, we’ll see how the court decides.”
Caesar grabbed his son who was about to leave and looked into his eyes. “What evidence does Rosalind have? Is she trying to frame your mother? Ulric, don’t forget who gave birth to you!”
“I haven’t forgotten.” That was why he stood here today.
“Then tell me, what does Rosalind want?” Caesar also realized that something was not right. It seemed more complicated than what his wife had described. “Your mom told me that she only turned a blind eye when Sirena plotted against Rosalind’s mother. She wasn’t involved! I scolded her too and told her not to spoil Sirena like that!”
Ulric raised an eyebrow. “Are you sure Mom told you the truth?”
He was not sure.
“Rosalind wants to sue Mom and Sirena for murder. As for how the court will decide, I won’t interfere. If Mom is truly innocent, then she should present evidence,” Ulric straightened his back, speaking in a deep voice.
“But if she wants to suppress Rosalind and bury this matter, I won’t pretend I know nothing like you, Father.”
