Why am I such a fool? No wonder Dave got mad when I first went to Marshall’s house. He never trusted his Beta either. And I was blind enough to think we were becoming good friends. I should get a clue regarding the men around me.
“No need to hate yourself. We don’t have control over who we should come to like or not,” Kiki my wolf replied, trying to assure me. “It was the same for him.”
I need to clarify all the misunderstandings on her birthday and give him a proper answer.
The next morning, when I opened my door to go out, I saw Dave walking past my room all dressed up ready to leave for work.
I closed the door, waiting for him to pass by. Wait, why the heck am I hiding for? This is so lame.
When I went downstairs for breakfast, I saw no one at the table. I inquired the maid about it only to find out he left without eating.
Did he do that so he won’t have to eat with me? Why am I being so negative? This may not be the reason.
I ate by myself and left for college. On my way to class, I saw Skylar leaning against the classroom door as if waiting for someone.
I tried to walk past him, ignoring his presence then suddenly, someone grabbed me by the arm.
I turned around to see him standing.
“Where might you be going? I was waiting for you,” He added with a smirk displaying on his lips.
I was puzzled. “Waiting for me? Why? I thought you weren’t interested in talking with me anymore?”
“Oh, come on, there’s no way that would be true,” he replied. “Come with me. I have something important to talk about with you.”
“Come with you? Where? And what about class?”
“Believe me. It’s not more important than this is to you. Come,” He dragged me away somewhere without any explanation.
And we somehow ended up on the rooftop which no one hardly goes to. I don’t get what goes through his head sometimes.
“Skylar, why did you bring me here?” I asked, removing his hand away from my wrists.
He snickered and turned around to look at me.
“To give you an important announcement and a surprise,” he replied, searching for something in his pockets.
“Announcement and surprise? What are you”
He pulled out his phone and scrolled through something.
What’s there in his phone? Why do I have a bad feeling about this?
“But before I begin, can you answer me something?” he asked, removing his eyes from the screen to look at me.
“Yeah, sure,” I answered uncertainly.
“Aileen, what kind of a relationship do you have with the Alpha, your father? Not just a regular father and daughter, is it?”
His question took me by surprise. I couldn’t believe my ears. Did I hear it right? Why would he even ask me such a question?
“You aren’t speaking. Then, as I thought you aren’t a normal father and daughter.”
“W-what kind of joke is this?” I spluttered, my hands trembling in fear. “We are a normal father and daughter. Why would you even ask such a thing?”
“Hm…. normal huh? Then, you must love your father very much well.” His words were filled with mystery. What is he trying to pull here?
“Uh…yeah. I love my father very much. Just like my real father.” I gulped, my throat was going dry out of anxiety. So many lies I have to put up with every day.
“Real father, eh? That’s a lie.” He stated, gazing down at me like a hawk.

“What do you mean by a lie”
“If he were your real father, then you wouldn’t have any forbidden or illicit feelings towards him. Nor would you even write about them somewhere in secret. Which you did here,” he held his phone towards me, showing something a picture with words scribbled down on the page.
When I looked closely, as I feared it turned out to be my handwriting. And it was a picture of my diary.
How did he manage to find it out?
“Aileen, since when did you start to have feelings towards him?” he asked, stepping closer to me. “And does he feel the same way towards you? When did your secret affair begin? Is that the reason why he doesn’t like any boy hanging out with you?”
“Then, it wasn’t just mere overprotectiveness. It was pure jealousy and raw hatred,” he raised his voice.
“You are wrong!” I yelled, clenching my palms shut. “There’s nothing like that between us. He only sees me as his daughter and”
“It’s not the only page I have a picture of. I’ve also read the part where you wrote how good he made you feel during your first time when you were lying in his arms skin-to-skin with no clothes in between. You already slept with him several times, didn’t you? And I took you for an introvert who has a hard time coming out of your shell, but it seems you are already ahead of most of us in this game, huh?”
His words echoed in my ears making me feel only smaller inside. I can’t believe I got exposed so easily in front of him. I didn’t want him to find everything out like this.
“Skylar, I can explain”
“If words get out, I wonder how the Alpha’s image will become in his pack. I don’t think anyone will take this news in a good way considering you were supposed to be father and daughter. But, it seems you took the word ‘step’ for granted. That’s why you thought it was alright to do anything with him and it would be allowed under the terms you two don’t have any blood relation? Is that what you thought?”
I shook my head, “No, that’s not………I….. I can explain. Please, listen to me.”
“Listen to what? What more explanation can you give me to have an illicit affair with your father who’s also married to your mom? In simpler terms aren’t you a homewrecker ruining her marriage? Wait, does she also know about your secrets?”
“If she doesn’t….. poor her. My heart goes out to the mother who raised you and you ended up stealing her husband. She didn’t imagine that her daughter would sleep with her husband, did she?” he teased, looking down at me. “She’s betrayed by her husband and daughter behind her back. The people she loves the most. That’s so sad literally.”
