Dave
The disdain on her face was clearly visible hearing my words. But, there’s nothing I can do considering she was the one who forced me to take this rough approach.
The boy beside her looked at me then glanced in Aileen’s direction as if trying to confirm whether I said was true or not?
“Why aren’t you speaking? Answer me why you went against my words and still hang out with this boy?” I demanded.
The students passing by us were staring at us as if some sort of show was taking place there. Even though I didn’t like this stunt, I had no option.
When I saw her walking out together with him, laughing with his hands around her shoulder, I couldn’t control myself.
He’s the last person I want to see her hanging out with. Because I can tell, he’s only after Aileen and nothing else. But, why is she so dense about this? Can’t she understand his intentions? Or does she understand it, but is still pretending to be blind to everything?
No matter what happens, this will be the last day for everything. I can’t let this go on anymore.
“He’s my friend. So, it’s justified that I hang out with him, right?” Aileen replied, “Just because you are my dad, you can’t interfere in my personal affairs, can you now?”
Her reply only irked me. “Yes, I have all the right to interfere in all your affairs. As your parent, I have the right. And you are bound to listen to me. But, you aren’t doing that. You can’t go against my decision, keep that in mind.”
“Aileen, don’t fight with him,” her friend interrupted, patting him on her shoulder, “You are causing a scene in here. Everyone is watching. Don’t do that.”
“I’m not doing this willingly either,” she retorted, “He’s the one being extreme here. You are my friend. He can’t insult you like that. He has to take back his words and apologize to you. Otherwise, I won’t be able to stay calm.”
I’m astonished beyond words. Did she really just say that? In front of her mate?
“But, Aileen, this is really a simple matter. Don’t do this,” he pleaded, “Please end this conversation with Alpha here. It’s going to affect his reputation. And he’s just being overprotective here, that’s all.”
“Overprotective or not, he’s just being unreasonable, no matter how you look at it. Dave, please apologize to”
“I don’t want to hear any nonsense from you!” I yelled, grabbing onto her by the arm. “You are coming home with me right now. That’s all I know.”
She was startled by my response, and puzzled at the same time. “What? No, I”
Before she could speak anything else further, I dragged her away from him by force and just threw her inside the car and locked the door despite her protests.
“Dave, you can’t do this. Listen to me!”
I entered from the other side and turned on the car, not paying any attention to her words.
In a second, we drove past Skylar, who watched us leave together with a sad expression.
“Put on your seat belt,” I ordered while keeping my eyes on the road.
“I don’t need any protection. I need answers to my question!” she yelled. “Why did you pull such an act in front of Skylar? Weren’t the warnings at home good enough? I have told you several times that he’s just my friend and I can’t cut him off from my life like that. Then, why do you not listen to me?”
I was already in a bad mood and hearing her tantrums it intensified my anger. I stepped on the brake and parked the car at the side of the construction site.
“It’s not safe to travel without seatbelt. Don’t risk your safety over your trivial friend,” I said, leaning closer to her side to pull over the seat belt for her.
She gave me a glare, “Trivial? I’ve been repeating this for so long. Skylar is”
I covered my hand over her mouth, stopping her from talking.
“Yes, I know he’s your very good friend. But, he doesn’t seem that good in my eyes. That’s why I don’t want to see you hanging out with him anymore. Is that clear to you?”
She removed my hand away from her mouth in response.
“How long are you going to keep repeating the same thing over and over again? Just put aside your hatred for Skylar and start seeing things for how they are. Then, you wouldn’t have any”
“God, you are so annoying,” I murmured before forcing a kiss on her lips.
She tried to push me away at first, but then gave in.
The kiss was so intense, she was left breathless, panting hard with her chest falling and rising in slow motion.
I pulled away after caressing her face. Still, she wasn’t impressed by my gesture.
“I’m sorry, this was the only way for me to stop you. I really don’t hate anything about you, but when you try to defend another man in front of me. I can’t just tolerate it!” I said, placing my hands on the steering wheel.
She paused for a second before replying, “But, I’m only defending him because he’s not at fault at all. Why don’t you try to understand me for a second? You are always against what I say to you. Am I your enemy or something?”
Her words pricked me like a needle. I never wanted to hear those things from her.
“I hope I’m not there to see the day when you become my enemy. Cause that might be the last thing, I’ll ever ask for,” I replied, gazing at her.
Her eyes widened in response, uncertain feelings washing over her mind. “No, Dave, don’t say that. I didn’t mean to say it like that. I’m sorry, but you are going too far. Why are you holding a grudge against Skylar? We have no sort of connection that you think we have. You are the only one I have ever given my heart to. Then, why do you feel insecure about him?”
“Do you not have any faith in me?”
“I have faith in you!” I yelled, fisting my hands. “That’s the reason I allowed you to go to college and live your life. I’m not trying to restrict your movement. But, me wishing for your good isn’t wrong either. So, you should respect my decision sometimes. If you say you love me. You can do it for me, can’t you?”
