“Boss, can you tell me why you are looking at your phone in the middle of the meeting?” Marshall murmured, sitting next to me.
I was startled, almost dropping my phone in the attempt.
But I managed to catch it before it hit the ground. Heaving a sigh, I looked in Marshall’s direction. He looked away the very minute.
I fixed my posture and listened to the client talk. Why does he gotta pay attention to me so much? And why am I acting like a teenager? Aren’t you the boss? What will your subordinates learn from you if you act like this?
But, I’m so smitten with Aileen. I can’t seem to ignore her pleas. Even right now, I’m thinking about how many ways I can punish her after getting back home.
And it’s making my cock stiff in my pants. Oh, I can’t wait to see her after the whole day.
If possible right in this table, I would pin her down and grab her by the waist and pound inside her till she begs for me.
I’m having some nasty thoughts in the daylight. My hormone levels seem to be high.
Thinking about it, since she came to live with us, I look forward to going back home after a tired day at work.
Before it was Emilia and me only, and even she wouldn’t be at home most of the time. I had to return home to that empty house, where no one would wait for me to welcome me, talk with me, and spend some quality time.
It was the least I was hoping for, but I wasn’t given that. I don’t blame Emilia for it, cause it’s her profession. But, now I wonder, was our marriage a mistake after all? I liked her for her simplicity and honesty, but that wasn’t enough to fill the empty gap in my heart.
But, Aileen had managed to fill it. She makes me feel at home. Her smile lights up my whole world. And I wouldn’t trade her for anything else out there.
Then, why do I feel guilty for her being my special one? When will this regret end?
After the meeting was over, Marshall stayed behind and walked over to my seat, standing right behind me.
“Lord, may I know what’s going on in your head actually? Your mind isn’t focused on work, is it?” he teased.
I turned around to look at him. “You know me so well, don’t you?”
He beamed a smile. “Of course, I’m your beta. I have known you for so long years. I can tell what’s going on in your head just by a glimpse of you. So, what’s going on? Mind sharing it with me?”
“Nothing is going on! You are thinking too much about it!” I retorted, “I’m just not focused on work today. That’s all.”
“Oh? You are lying to me as well? This is not fair, is it?”
Crap how did he find out?
“I’m not lying,” I got up from my seat, wrapping an arm around his shoulder. “Let’s go and grab some coffee. It’ll help clear my head.”
He agreed and later I managed to divert the conversation. There’s no way I can let him find out I’m thinking about my daughter inappropriately.
“Oh, so Aileen is going to college from today?” Marshall asked, sipping on his coffee.
“Uh, yes. I dropped her on the way.”
“Oh…then she’s going to make some new friends there, won’t she?”
“Yeah, having friends is”
“And a few boyfriends as well, right?” Marshall giggled.
I was flabbergasted. A few boyfriends? Aileen is going to have boyfriends in college? Why didn’t I think of that earlier?
“What? Don’t tell me you weren’t expecting that to happen?” Marshall joked.
“Well…I mean…”
“Come on! She’s not a high schooler anymore. Well, even high schoolers nowadays have boyfriends/girlfriends. I’m not surprised. Anyway, what I mean is she’s at that age where she can have several boyfriends till she finally finds the one who’s fated to her. And it’s quite normal. Right?”
I was at a loss for words. I didn’t think that sending her to college would make me end up having several rivals to deal with for her affection.
“And Aileen is pretty cute as well. She’s also well-behaved and kind. I think she’ll be pretty popular in her class. She won’t have any problem finding a boyfriend. Some might be hitting on her from the first day, who knows? Isn’t it sweet to see youngsters in a relationship?”
Seeing her in a relationship with someone else is pure torture. There’s no way I’ll allow that!
She’s my mate. I won’t let her go to any other guy. No possible way!
“And yet you can’t call her as yours in front of others. Stop claiming her pointlessly,” My wolf Aaron remarks in a sarcastic tone.
So, what if I can’t call her mine yet? When the timing is right, there won’t be any problem calling her my mate in front of others.
You’ll see it!
“We’ll see when that time of yours will come,” Aaron replied.
It will come, it has to come. There’s no way we’ll go our separate ways after all this happening.
The goddess is with us. No one can destroy our union.
“Are you against the idea of, Aileen being in a relationship?” Marshall asked, looking quite concerned.
I nodded briefly. “Yes, and it’s not wrong for me to be against that. Cause she suffered heartbreak not long ago. And she still hasn’t recovered yet. So, I want her to focus entirely on her studies for now to make a career instead of getting into useless relationships that won’t get her anywhere in life.”
“Hey, that’s a bit harsh, don’t you think”
“And boys nowadays are only interested in being friends with benefits. What if any boy wants to be in a relationship just to use her? We can’t trust boys, can we? I can’t throw her off the cliff knowing all that!” I stated assertively.
After a moment of pause he replied, “Well, I do get your point. But, you are a guy as well. Should you really be speaking badly for all boys? Don’t generalize people like that. Not every guy is the same. Someone out there might exist who’d like her out of pure love and not just to sleep with her right?”
“No! Guys like that are quite rare and hard to find. So, no one should take the risk!”
Marshall bursts out in laughter the very second. I become puzzled by his response.
“Why are you laughing? Did I say anything funny?”
“Uh…yeah…you are so overprotective over her. Acting just like her true parent, is it? You don’t want your daughter to have a boyfriend even though she’s old enough to make her own decisions. Don’t you think she’ll get bored of an overbearing dad like that?”
“What?”
“If you are too strict, she might do things behind your back in secret. If you find out later, you’ll regret it. So, loosen up a bit and do as she pleases. If she wants to keep a boyfriend let her keep it. There’s no harm.”
She’s going to keep secrets from me because I’m strict? Seriously?
“Did you understand what I said?” Marshall asked, patting on my shoulder.
I gave him a glare, standing up.
“No! I don’t want another boy to break her heart again. She has already suffered enough. That Jack asshole was enough of a trouble for me. I don’t want to deal with another! There’s no way she’s having a boyfriend in college! She’s only there to study and make her career. Nothing else!”
Marshall looked at me with a disappointed look. “Did you even listen to what I said?”
But seriously, now I’m worried. What if someone hits on her? I’m not there to keep a watch on her.
She’s…. not going to fall for anyone else, is she? Will that ever happen?
No, I won’t let her become anyone else’s! I need to sort this out with her in the evening. It’s the only way to prevent future accidents.
Somehow the day came to an end. I wanted to rush home, but I was late. I was in the middle of traffic checking the time on my watch when I heard my phone ringing.
When I picked up the phone I noticed the name on the screen. It changed my mood in a split second.
I answered right away, “Hello, why are you calling me?”
“It’s been a while son. How are you doing? Judging by your voice you seem unhappy about something. Is this perhaps your marriage that’s making you unhappy?”
The one at the other end was the person whom I once adored the most in this world, but now I can’t tolerate him.
“Just get to the point, why are you calling me?” I retorted. “Is it to lecture me or what?”
“This is not the right way to talk to your dad, is it son? Am I not the person who’s responsible for your entire existence? How can you be so harsh with me?”
“I’m harsh because I want to. Just get to the point and end this call! I don’t feel comfortable talking to you.”
He paused for a minute before replying, “So my son doesn’t even want to talk to me anymore? Now, that’s sad. But you have to talk to me either way. Come and meet me at the Yorkshire Hotel. I’ll be waiting for you at 20 minutes sharp. Don’t make me wait. You know I hate that.”
“I don’t want to see you,” I replied.
“Hm…yes I know that. But you have to come. We’ll have dinner together. It’ll be fun.”
I clicked my tongue out of irritation. “I’ll be there.”
“Now, that’s like my boy. I know you won’t disappoint me. Dad will be waiting. Bye.”
