*Continuation of Flashback*
The milkshake had been drunk within ten minutes. It had just tasted so good. Anytime I had asked Noah about our destination he told me it was a surprise. Naturally I was excited but that was slowly turning into fatigue.
It had come on suddenly, I brushed it off due to the long week of school. “You okay baby? You’ve been yawning non-stop for the past 10 minutes, you can take a nap if you would like, it’ll be another hour or so before we get there” he turned down the music and adjusted the heating making it nearly impossible for me to stay away.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t realise how tired I was, this is probably not what you had planned” I yawned through most of my words, finally letting my head lull to the side as I welcomed sleep.
“Last minute plans never hurt ” he murmured as my eyes shut, consuming me within darkness.
Groaning, I tossed and turned trying to find comfort on the semi-hard surface. The heavy feeling on my ankle bringing me from my sleep. Grouchily sitting up, my eyes flickered open, squinting. I couldn’t tell if it was abnormally dark where I was or I had just gone blind in my sleep.
Turning my head to examine my surroundings I was glad to see I hadn’t gone blind as there was a small window in the wall beside me which small streams of light filtered through.
Letting my eyes adjust to the very dim lighting I stretched my body out, trying to rid myself of the odd stiffness I felt. A faint headache lingering behind my eyes which I brushed off as too much sleep. Straining my mind to think of what I had done last I came up blank.
The last thing I remember was walking towards the car, after that it was blank. I couldn’t remember. Moving to stand up and find somebody, I halted in my movement as a large cold surface slid down my ankle. Internally praying it wasn’t any sort of snake I forced myself to look down.
A metal cuff circled my ankle as an attached chain hooked me to the bottom of the cushioned wall. I was beginning to panic. People don’t wake up cuffed to walls for non serious reasons.
Picking up the relatively short chain, I tried to yank it off the wall but all it did was send a burning feeling up my hands. Sitting back down I tried approaching it from a different angle. After a couple more tries I could feel the skin on my hands tearing as they began to sting painfully, my attempts becoming more frantic.
“Oh god, oh god, oh god” my chest became tight as that familiar tickly feeling in my throat came, the tears refusing to be stopped as they rolled down my face. Still seated, my breath was heavy from the extraneous effort I had put in trying to get the cold metal off my body.
My phone. Digging through my pockets, I clutched onto my hair with stress as it was nowhere to be felt. “Crap, think Embry, think” hitting my palm against my head in frustration I dug my head into my knees trying to remember something.
Wiping my face every couple seconds to get rid of the unstoppable remnants of crying, a small recollection came to mind. We were going to get milkshakes, I was going to text my parents but I put my phone in my bag. Sh*t.
Noah! He had to know something was wrong, he would help me. Unless he was trapped like me and we were both screwed. Wiping my now cut up hands I stood , trying to get close to the door but the chain only allowing me about two feet of movement from the hook on the wall.
Sliding down onto the floor again, I tried to focus on my breathing, I couldn’t afford panicking in this situation. Thing Embry think, I was chained to a wall, okay a chain, I couldn’t break it and by examining it I could tell I would need a key.
If I broke out of the chain, what’s the chance the doors open and what happens from there, Noah could be here as well and I wouldn’t just leave without him. I wasn’t willing to kill anyway and I wasn’t willing to die. So that left what options;
-Sit here and welcome possible death
-Find a way out and come face to face with possible death
-Pinch myself until I wake up from this nightmare
Once again bringing my hands to my head I tugged at my hair, driving myself crazy with all the possibilities. The smooth hair sat between my fingers until my finger hit off a small metal pin.
My bobby pin! Pulling it out of my hair I thanked every crime show and movie I had ever seen as I fiddled it around the lock of the chain. I only had one bobby pin so I couldn’t let it snap inside the lock. My shaky fingers were not helping my cause.
I froze as the lights flickered on, momentarily burning my eyes, three metal bangs were heard coming from the door before it slowly opened. My lungs had stopped functioning as I waited, unmoving for something to happen. Such an intense feeling of relief filled me as Noah scurried towards me, I felt the tears pricking harder at my eyes but for a more positive reason this time.
“Noah, oh thank god” I sobbed as he fell to the floor beside me, bringing me into his chest. “I was so scared, I couldn’t remember anything” my bawling was uncontrollable as I attempted to get the words out.
“Hey, hey it’s okay, I’m here” he whispered, caressing my hair as I soaked his shirt with my tears. “Calm down, it’s okay, you need to calm down first okay little bug” he weakly smiled.
Getting a hold on my tears, I wiped away the last remaining few. “I can’t get out, I’m chained, but I have a bobby pin, I just need a little while for it to work” I determinedly nodded, showing him my pin that lay in the lock.
“God, you’re such a smart little bug” he praised reaching over to try unlocking the chain with the bobby pin. “Be careful with it, it’s the only one I have” I warned, feeling more secure now that he was here and we could escape.
My eyebrows furrowed in confusion as he plucked the bobby pin out of the lock, snapping it between his fingers then placing the pieces in his back pocket. “N-Noah, we needed that” I stared shocked at him. I wanted to be angry at him but I knew I needed to trust him.
Taking a hold of my face he lifted it so I was staring into his eyes. “No more Keith, no more anybody else, just you and I” his panicked expression turned into one of pure sadism as my breathing once again came out in short spurts.
“I-I, Noah what’s happening?” my voice quivered in fear as his thumb began rubbing circles on my cheek. “Do you like your surprise?” he cheekily smiled. Was he joking? Had he set this up? That freaking a-hole!
“Noah you freaking *ss, you had me wanting to pee myself, this wasn’t a funny prank, don’t do cr*p like that again” I pushed his hands away, holding my ankle towards him to unlock the chain. I’m going to ignore the heck out of him for the weekend for thinking he could joke about something like this.
Grabbing my ankle he yanked me towards him, unprepared for the sudden movement I had fallen on my back, now laying on the ground beside him. Crawling over me and letting himself hover over my laid out body, Noah sent me a devious look.
“Nuh-uh baby girl, you’re mine now, now and forever, there is no escaping” shakily laughing I tried to push Noah off of my body. “Noah, this isn’t funny anymore, I want to go home” I demanded in a weak tone.
His hand slowly trailed up towards my neck, his fingers wrapping themselves around them lightly, in a threatening way. “This isn’t a joke Embry, granted it wasn’t meant to happen like this, I was going to wait a while but then that Keith guy came and got me riled up, I hope you understand it was just too dangerous to keep you in the outside world anymore” his fingers giving a small squeeze to my neck as my eyes bulged in panic.
“Hmm, I see we aren’t enjoying this position like we usually do” he smirked, releasing his hold on my neck but keeping his hands hovering above it in warning.
“L-look, Noah, Keith isn’t anything, I’ll just ask for a new partner, t-there is no need for this” I shakily reassured. “Embry, baby, you always say everything happens for a reason, this all happened for a reason” his face leaned closer towards mine, his lips hovering above my own.
Attempting to turn my head to the side, he grabbed my face, turning it back to face him. His lips pressing against mine, his eyes closed as he moved them against my ones. I lay limp there, still trying to process everything, was this the same Noah I was going to get milkshakes with. It couldn’t have been yet it wasn’t not him.
“You’re mine which means I own you, you’re always such a good girl for me little bug, this new change doesn’t mean you stop being one, okay?” he questioned. Nodding I was too distracted with conjuring up an escape plan to feel the shiver run through my spine at his words. I was going to have to go this alone.
Clicking his tongue in disapproval, my eyes shot towards him, I no longer knew what he was capable of, I didn’t want to see him angry. “I-I’ll be a good girl for you” I whimpered out, a sickly feeling overcoming me.
The feeling reminded me like the one you’d get before a big exam, except it covered your whole body, all your nerves burning with energy and your head feeling as though the oxygen was being bled out of it.
It was the sort of feeling you get when you hit the beginning to your end.
