TIFFANY’S POV
“Rachel Sparks, you have been found guilty of kidnapping and multiple counts of attempted murder against Tiffany Dion. It is the judgement of this court that you be sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole.
Shelley Duvall, you have been found guilty of being an accomplice in these heinous crimes. You are hereby sentenced to 20 years imprisonment.
Oscar, you have been found guilty of attempted murder on Derrick’s life. You will serve 15 years imprisonment because the court has considered your age,” the judge’s voice sounded in the courtroom.
Tiffany exhaled sharply in relief. It was finally over.
It’s been a month since she was rescued and today is the trial day for everyone involved in the crime. The past month has been graced with a lot of healing processes.
She had therapy sessions to stop the incessant nightmares she had, and yoga sessions for her body healing.
She had also started going for an antinatal checkup for her baby. It was indeed a healing month for her.
“It’s over now,” Shawn said to her, and she immediately turned to look at his reassuring eyes. She had forgotten he was seated next to her.
She nodded as she returned her eyes to Rachel and her accomplice as they led them out of the courtroom. It still felt surreal that Rachel would go to that extent to harm her.
Instinctively, her hands went to her stomach. Her baby, their babyher’s and Shawn’s was alive and kicking.
“It’s over now. No harm will come to you both again,” Shawn said, wrapping his arms around her.
“Thank you so much,” her voice suddenly wavered, and in the absence of the right words to express herself, she took his lips in hers.
She kissed him fervently. Silently conveying her emotions through the kiss. When they finally broke the kiss, she heard the sound of clapping behind her.
“Get a room, you two. The hell, who kisses in a courtroom?” Mrs Gold said, walking up to them.
They stood up, with her covering her face in shame.
“Now, don’t feel shy my darling. There is absolutely nothing to feel shy about. He is your husband, but make sure you don’t fall pregnant with another baby,” Mrs Gold said, teasingly.
Everyone Mr Gold, Shawn, Bryan, Her father burst into laughter. It felt good to have them around. They were with her during the battle, and now that victory has been achieved.
“C’mon, we are going to throw a mini party for this victory,” Mrs Gold said, and everyone concurred.
And so, like one big family, they walked out of the courtroom.
They arrived at Shawn’s parents’ house, where Mrs. Gold had prepared a feast to celebrate the victory. She served everyone a meal of roasted steak, Chinese rice, and other delicious dishes that she had prepared in advance.
She served everyone generous portions of food, making sure no one was underfed. The table was filled with laughter and heartfelt banters as they reminisced about the events of the past month.
“You’re like a daughter to us, Tiffany. We are so grateful that you’re safe,” Mrs Gold said, wiping away a tear, amidst the conversation.
“I couldn’t have gotten through this without all of you. Thank you for being there for me,” Tiffany said, her voice filled with emotion.
Shawn wrapped his arm around her, giving her a reassuring squeeze. “We’ll always be here for you, my love. No matter what.”
“Who would have thought we would come out of this stronger than ever?” Mr. Gold chipped in. “Let’s toast to the family,” he added, raising his glass.
“To family and friends who stood by us through it all,” Shawn said, clinking his glass, and so did everyone.
TIFFANY’S POV
It’s been a week since the court judgement. Today was her prom party at school and she was getting ready.
She stood in front of the full-length mirror, carefully putting on her makeup and fixing her hair in loose curls. She was wearing a stunning off-the-shoulder blue gown that hugged her baby bump perfectly. She complemented it with silver jewelry and a pair of heels that weren’t too high, considering her pregnancy.
As she was about to head downstairs, she heard Shawn calling her name. She chuckled and let out a loud “I’m don’t,” as she grabbed her clutch purse and hurried down to meet him.
His eyes lit up when he saw her, and he held out his hand to her. “You look more stunning with my bay in you,” he said, as he bent down to plant a kiss on her bump.
She felt her heart flutter at his words, and the baby kicked in agreement as if it could understand its father’s words.
He led her out to the house, and the car purred to life as they drove to her school.
They arrived at the school and he parked the car, before leading her towards the hall where the prom party was being held. The hall was beautifully decorated with twinkling lights and balloons. Students were scattered around in their colorful prom outfits, laughing and chatting.
Almost immediately, she spotted Timothy and Freya as they rushed over to greet them, both looking dazzling in their suits.
“Oh my, you look hot in pregnancy, Tiff. Look at that beautiful baby bump. Now, I need me my own baby,” Freya gushed as she engulfed her in a hug.
Timothy followed next. Speaking of Timothy, she had forgiven him and their Friendship was stronger and better now. Escaping death, she had realized that holding onto grudges was not worth it. After all, dead men don’t hold grudges.
Their conversation was cut short by principal Campbell’s voice over the microphone. They immediately turned to look at her on the podium.
“Good evening, students. I hope you’re all having a wonderful time at our prom tonight. I just want to take a moment to remind you all to cherish these special moments with your friends and classmates. Prom is a time to create unforgettable memories and celebrate all your hard work throughout the year. So, dance, laugh, and enjoy yourselves to the fullest.
Now, I encourage you to hit the dance floor and have a fabulous time,” as principal Campbell ended her speech, the students cheered as they all walked to the dance floor with their dates.
“Will you do me the honor of dancing with me, Signora?” Shawn asked, feigning an Italian accent.
Tiffany let out a laugh, as she placed her hands in his as they walked to the dance floor. They danced for a while, and Dion the music ended as Principal Campbell mounted the podium again.
“I bet you Student’s know what time it is. I will still tell you. This is the time we give honor to certain students and with further ado, let’s start.” She paused as she glanced at the paper in her hands before continuing, ” Freya Meyer won the overall student personality of the year…”
The students erupted into shouts of excitement as Freya walked up the podium.
“Next, is our best dressed prom male and female. Sofia Anderson won best dressed female and Ryan Enzo won best dressed male,” the students clapped and cheered as the students assumed the podium.
“Our prom king is Timothy McVeigh, and now our prom Queen and overall best student is….” Principal Campbell stayed quiet as everyone stared at her in anticipation.
“It is no other person but…”
