SHAWN’S POV
Since Tiffany’s car got damaged, he had always wanted to get her a new car. He didn’t want to give her a car from his cars, he wanted a brand new one for her and his intention was to take her to a car dealership shop and ask her to pick any car of her choice.
Well, that day was today. He had already called Lucas to pick her up from home after she had returned from school and bring her to the shop. He would be there waiting for them.
Checking his wristwatch, He saw that it was time. Excitement brewed within him as he picked up his car key and made his way to his car. The anticipation of surprising her with a brand new car had been building up inside him for weeks. Today was the day he would finally fulfill his wish and see the joy on her face.
Driving to the car dealership shop, his mind was occupied with thoughts of what her reaction would be. He knew she deserved a new car since the one he gave to her had been damaged in the accident.
Upon arrival, the owner of the shop greeted him with utmost respect. As the youngest business chairman in Vancouver, the affluence and influence he had garnered had earned him a place of distinction within the community. He informed the owner that he was waiting for someone and he was led to a comfortable corner of the showroom.
Before long, Lucas arrived with her. She looked puzzled as she questioned why they were there.
“Why are we here? Aren’t you supposed to be at work?” she asked, looking from him to Lucas, to the shop owner.
“Relax, you will soon find out.” He said reassuringly as he urged her to follow him, and they were led by the shop owner through a maze of polished vehicles.
Her eyes widened in shock as they entered a well-lit garage filled with an array of sophisticated cars. Her astonishment was vivid as she gazed at the gleaming cars surrounding them.
“Make a choice. Don’t be prudent about it. Any car you like here, pick it.”
“Are you kidding me?” she asked, her eyes almost bulging out if their sockets.
“No. Go ahead.” He said, motioning her forward.
Overwhelmed with emotion, she ran into his arms.
“Baby, I’m so glad you love it,” he whispered in her ear.
She held onto him tightly. “Thank you so much. This is more than I could ever imagine.”
The shop owner, smiling, stepped forward as he offered to help her make her choice. After looking around for a while, she pointed towards a luxurious Bentley Continental GT.
After confirming that that was what she wanted, he wasted no time, quickly settling the payment with the shop owner.
And then, it was time for him to leave.
“I wish I could stay with you, but unfortunately, I have to get back to work. Lucas, make sure she gets home safely. I don’t want anything happening to her.”
Lucas nodded dutifully and led her out, while a worker in the shop was asked to drive the new car after them.
He watched them walk out, reluctant to part ways with her, then he remembered that work demanded his attention. As he drove away, he felt satisfied that she was happy. And that alone was a good reason for him to be happy too.
RACHEL’S POV
She sat in her office, gazing absentmindedly out the window. The view of the bustling city streets offered little distraction from the thoughts troubling her mind. Suddenly, her eyes focused on a figure hurrying towards his car. It was Shawn. Where was he headed?
Curiosity piqued, she impulsively decided to follow him. She hurried out and jumped into her car and followed him. She kept a safe distance as she followed him, and soon he arrived at a popular car dealership shop. Wondering what he could possibly be doing there, she parked her car nearby and observed from afar.
Minutes later, her attention was drawn to a familiar face – Tiffany? Her heart skipped a beat as she watched the girl and her driver or whatever the guy was to her walk into the shop. Confusion and anger grew within her as she speculated on the purpose of their visit.
Fortunately, she could see through the transparent showcase, so she watched like an eagle as Tiffany roamed the shop floor, her eyes lighting up with excitement as she examined each car. Suddenly, it dawned on her that Shawn must be buying the girl a car. The sight of him enveloping the girl in a warm hug caused a jolt of jealousy to course through her veins, igniting a primal rage within.
Struggling to contain her emotions, She remained in her car, silently seething. After what felt like an eternity, the girl and her driver emerged from the dealership with a man who appeared to be a staff member. They climbed into their own car, while the new vehicle was driven away by the man from the shop.
Her curiosity got the better of her, and she decided to follow them. She tailed them until they got to Shawn’s place. Parking a short distance away, she anxiously awaited any sign of confirmation. Minutes later, the man from the car shop walked back out, alone. It was now clear – Shawn had indeed purchased the girl a brand new car, likely to replace the one damaged in the accident.
As she drove back to the office, she couldn’t help but give in to her curiosity and look up the cost of a Bentley Continental GT. The shock of the price – a staggering $200, 000 – left her speechless. The fact that Shawn could spend such an amount of money to get her a car fueled her resentment towards the girl.
She was supposed to be the one enjoying all those privileges and not the little gold digger girl.
She drove back to the company, different emotions swirling inside of her. As she entered the building, she noticed some of the workers giving her strange looks, their gazes filled with curiosity and judgement. Ignoring their silent inquiries, she quickly made her way up to her office floor.
Just as she stepped out of the elevator, she nearly collided with Shawn, anger on his face.
“Where have you been?” he demanded, in a hard tone. “You were supposed to give your presentation for Royce’s report.”
Her heart sank as she realized her mistake. She had completely forgotten about the important presentation while she was out stalking him. The presentation was pivotal in determining the future of their company’s partnership with Royce’s company. Panic washed over her, and all she could manage was a weak apology.
“I… I’m sorry,” she stammered, her voice barely audible.
But he merely brushed off her words with a dismissive hand wave. “Save it,” he snapped, his tone cutting through her heart like a knife. “You are lucky your secretary stood in for you.”
With those biting words, He turned and walked away, leaving her dazed.
