SHAWN’S POV
After Rachel left his office, he took a moment to calm his nerves. The guts of her to think he would warm up to her after what she did.
He suddenly felt disgust and dislike for her and never wants to have anything to do with her. He was glad he told her about it and also demonstrated it through his actions.
Deciding she was not worth ruining his mood, he returned to work. In between work, his mind trailed off to Tiffany and found himself smiling each time it happened. She was beginning to have a strong effect on him and he loved the feel of it. Soon, it was lunch break and he cleared his table before picking up his car keys and walked out of the office.
He drove off to an eatery a bit far from the company. He didn’t want to bump into Rachel at their usual eating spot. His sudden dislike for her alarmed him, but she deserved it. After having lunch, he drove back to the office.
As he settled back into his routine, his thoughts kept drifting back to Tiffany. He couldn’t help but smile every time he thought about her. The mere thought of her had a way of brightening his day, and he loved the feeling it gave him.
Just as he was getting back into the swing of things, Leslie buzzed him on the intercom. “Sir, you have a brief meeting with the foreign investors in ten minutes.”
“Thank you, Leslie,” he replied, grateful for the heads up. He quickly gathered his thoughts and prepared for the meeting. He knew it was important to make a good impression on the investors, as they were intending to partner with the company for the first time. He squared his shoulders and confidently walked out of his office towards the boardroom.
The meeting was brief but went smoothly and he was glad he was able to convince them to partner with the company.
Closing time quickly approached, and eagerly he packed up his belongings ready to head home to Tiffany. The thought of seeing her again brought a smile to his face. She was like an antidote to his being, and he doesn’t mind being overdosed.
He arrived home and the first thing that welcomed him was the blissful aroma that only a well prepared meal can have. Tiffany was seated on the sitting room couch and she immediately rushed into his arms as he walked into the house.
“I missed you,” she said, pawing like a car as she wrapped her petite arms around him. He dropped his suitcase on the floor and picked her up, plastering kisses on her face.
“You can’t imagine how much I missed you. You were in my head all through and I could barely concentrate.”
“What do we call that? The Tiff’s effect.”
“You can say that again,” then he made a sniffing sound, “Where is that aroma coming from?”
“From the dinning of course. Dinner is served. Go upstairs and freshen up then come back for a sumptuous dinner.” Then a mischievous glint appeared in her eyes, “Or…. do you want to eat,” she pointed to herself, “before eating…?” She drawled, her voice holding a seductive tinge to it.
His eyes widened in shock as his manhood kicked aggressively at his pants. Darn! This girl will be the death of him.
“As much as I am tempted to bend you over here in the living room I will have to be lenient. You are still sore from last night.”
He watched her face turn a hue of color as she laughed in embarrassment. ” Alright then. Go upstairs and freshen up, Mr Gold.”
“On it, Mrs Gold.”
She blushed again and he blew her kisses before picking up his suitcase and walked away.
TIFFANY’S POV
She stood in front of the mirror, carefully applying her makeup and fixing her hair. She couldn’t help but smile as she thought about her new relationship with Shawn. They had just started on a good foot, but he had already brought so much happiness into her life. The way he made her feel, the way her heart fluttered whenever he was near – it was all so new and exciting.
As she studied her reflection in the mirror, she let out a sigh of relief. The slight bruises and scars from the accident had finally faded. It was a secret she wanted to keep hidden from everyone at school including her friends, so she was grateful that the evidence of the unfortunate incident wasn’t visible anymore. She focused on perfecting her appearance, wanting to look her best as she returned to school after almost a week away.
Once she finished getting ready, she hurried downstairs and quickly made herself a bowl of oats for breakfast. She knew Lucas would be arriving soon and she didn’t want to keep him waiting. As she finished eating, she heard the familiar honk of a car outside. Hastily setting her empty bowl in the kitchen sink with the intention of washing it later, she grabbed her backpack from the dining table and rushed outside.
She climbed into the car, greeted Lucas with a warm smile, and they drove off towards school. The morning rush filled the air as they navigated through traffic, while she looked out the window.
She got to school and after bidding Lucas goodbye walked into the compound. She was walking in the hallway when She bumped into Freya and Timothy. They were not expecting her and it was evident on their faces.
Freya immediately rushed to engulf her in a hug. “You silly girl, do you always have to make us miss you this much?” Freya said, pulling her cheeks after they disengaged from the hug.
“I’m sorry, it wasn’t Intentional.” She turned to Timothy, “Hi, Tim.”
“Hi, Tiff.” He replied, offering her a small smile.
She nodded and returned her attention to Freya. Her Friendship with him was still awkward and she doesn’t know how to relate with anymore.
“Umm…I have a class now. I will see you both later.” Timothy said and hurried away.
When he left, Frye gave her a disapproving look. ” You have to forgive him, Tiff. We both know he doesn’t have any class. He just feels out of place around you.”
“I know. I just don’t know what to do. I now see him differently. It’s not that easy to forget what happened and you know it.”
“You are finding it hard because you are not making any attempt to create room for forgiveness. You are both my best friends and the strain between you two is palpable. I can feel it.”
“I will think about it,”
“Same old phrase. C’mon, let’s go to class.” Freya said and pulled her towards the direction of their classroom.
She smiled as Freya pulled her. She had missed her craziness and it felt good to be back. They got to class and everyone kept staring at her. She wouldn’t blame them. She has been unsteady with school and everyone would do the same since she has not shown up for a week.
She waved to a few people before concentrating on the teacher that just entered the class. The next few hours were spent learning.
Soon, it was recess and she left for the cafeteria with Freya. They met Timothy sitting alone at a corner and Freya suggested they join him. After buying their lunch, they walked over to the table and Sat with him.
She could see the shock on his face. Well, she couldn’t blame him.
“I hope you don’t mind?” She asked.
“No…no, I don’t.” He stammered.
She nodded and faced her food.
