SHAWN’S POV
He gently led Tiffany by the hand into the house, her body was still trembling and her eyes still had a mixture of fear and disbelief. He understood the immense shock she must be going through, having narrowly escaped a fatal accident. Carefully leading her to the couch, he sat down beside her and wrapped his arm around her shoulder, offering her comfort and warmth.
“You’re safe now,” He whispered softly, his voice filled with reassurance. “I was so terrified when I got to the accident scene and saw your car, but I’m here with you now. I’ll always be by your side, no matter what.”
Tears streamed down her face as she nodded and managed to offer him a weak smile.
“You should go upstairs and freshen up while I make us dinner. I will inform you when I’m done.”
“Thank you for always coming to my aid. You have been a strong support system lately, and I don’t take your kind gestures for granted.” She said in a low raspy voice and he nodded, and with that, she slowly stood up and made her way upstairs.
After she left, he sighed and got up, making his way to the kitchen. He busied himself as he prepared a meal for them both. The aroma of roasted chicken and rosemary potatoes filled the air as he hummed a soothing tune, finding fulfilment in the act of nurturing for the woman he is beginning to feel something for.
Once the dinner was ready, He ascended the stairs to his room, taking a quick shower and changing into a clean set of clothes. Feeling better, he made his way to her room, knocking gently on the door.
She opened the door and welcomed him with a small smile. The sight of her slightly improved mood warmed his heart and made him feel even much better.
“Dinner is ready, my lady,” he said, genuflecting in a mock manner.
“Oh, you needed to see how you looked in that position. So hilarious.” She sat, bursting into laughter.
“Really? I was just being courteous, my lady. Now, shall we?” He made a gesture to the door.
“Of course,” she walked ahead of him.
They made their way downstairs together, and settled down at the dining table.
As they began to eat, his eyes never left her as he watched her every move.
“Ummm… this is delicious,” she said, moaning in ecstasy as she munched the potatoes.
The hell! That not so innocent sound of hers made his length jerk against his pants. It sounded so sultry and seductive, and the fact that she did it unintentionally made it more endearing.
“Do you like it?”
“Like?” she stopped to give him a feigned mock look. “Like is not the right word to use in this context. I love it.”
He released the breath he didn’t realize he was holding. He wanted to impress her with the meal and he was glad he did. They spent the next few hours at the dining table eating, cracking jokes and laughing out loud.
TIFFANY’S POV
As they finished their meal, She cleared the table, and they made their way to the couch to watch a movie.
But in the middle of the movie, She suddenly stood up and walked towards the keyboard at the end of the sitting room. She removed the cover and began to play a familiar romantic song by Shania Twain, her fingers gracefully dancing across the keys.
Her voice filled the room as she started singing, it was sonorous and soft, carrying the emotions of the song. Surprisingly, Shawn joined her, harmonizing perfectly with her voice.
They sang different songs together, their voices blending in perfect harmony, as the music filled the room. Each note they played and every word they sang felt like an expression of their growing connection.
After the song ended, Shawn couldn’t hide his surprise. “Who taught you how to play the keyboard? You’re amazing!”
She blushed at the compliment. “I actually took music classes in junior high school, and I sing in the school music group.”
He looked impressed. “You’re incredibly talented. We should do this more often, play and sing together.”
She smiled, her eyes sparkling with warmth. “I would love that.”
“Isn’t it amazing how we are learning to put our differences behind and embrace our familiarities? I mean, months ago we couldn’t stand each other’s presence, but here we are, singing together. And to think we have something in common love for music.” He said in a sober tone, looking her straight in the eye.
“I know, right? I’m glad we are not fighting each other anymore.” she replied.
“So, tell me, what are your aspirations?”
“Okay…after my graduation, I want to go fully into modeling while going to college. I also want to take music seriously and fitness too. You know, to be a model I need to be fit.”
“Wow, that’s a lot. I’m blown away by all your aspirations. Modeling, music, and fitness? You’re truly a woman of many talents. I have no doubt that you’ll achieve everything you set your mind to.”
A smile tugged at the corners of her lips at his kind words. “Thank you. And speaking of music, Actually, I’ve written songs of my own in the past, and if you don’t mind, I’d love to share them with you someday.”
“I’d be honored to hear your songs. You have such a natural talent, I can only imagine how beautiful your compositions must be.”
She paused to calmly look at him. She still had her doubts if the man seated next to her was the Shawn Gold she knew. Everything about him seemed new and changed.
“You know, it’s amazing how much we’ve discovered about each other tonight. I never would have imagined that we could connect on such a deep level. But here we are, I’m literally sharing my goals and aspirations with you.”
He squeezed her hand gently, his warm gaze never leaving hers. “Life has a funny way of bringing people closer, doesn’t it? It’s as if fate intervened and showed us that we’re meant to be arch enemies. I’m grateful for this new friendship we’ve found.”
She nodded and smiled. They spent the next few minutes talking and getting to know each other better. They lost track of time and when they realized themselves, it was late in the night.
“It’s late. Let’s go to bed,” He stood up and held out his hand to her. She took it and they walked upstairs together.
As they stood at his door, their eyes locked, and they couldn’t deny the magnetic pull that drew them together. With a hesitant smile, He leaned in and brushed his lips against hers.
“Good night,” he whispered in a low tone in her ear before walking into his room.
As the door slammed shut behind him, she sighed and walked into her own room.
