SHAWN’S POV
He couldn’t help but blush as he sat at his desk at work, reminiscing about the intense make out session with Tiffany in the car the previous night. He found himself missing her already, wanting to be in her company again.
He sighed deeply, trying to shake off the distracting thoughts and focus on work. But his mind kept drifting back to the feel of her lips on his, the size of her breasts in his hands, the way she responded to his touch. He couldn’t get enough of her.
Just then, his phone buzzed with a text message. He grabbed it, and his heart skipped a beat when he saw her name on the screen.
“Hey, I’m planning to go to the supermarket to get some cosmetics. Luca will be accompanying me. Just wanted to let you know. Take care.”
He sighed in relief at her thoughtfulness to call her bodyguard. He wanted to offer to drive her to the supermarket, but she had already mentioned Luca.
Still, he couldn’t stay back at the office. He decided to go to the supermarket and surprise her instead. He quickly gathered his things and made his way out of the office.
As he drove towards the supermarket, his mind was filled with thoughts of her. He couldn’t understand why he suddenly felt so protective of her and always wanted her within sight.
A few meters away from the supermarket, his heart sank at the sight in front of him. There was a car that had just been in an accident. His eyes widened as he recognized the vehicle – it was Tiffany’s car.
Without wasting a second, he parked his car and rushed towards the scene. His mind was racing with fear and panic as he prayed that Tiffany and Luca were safe.
As he approached the accident scene, he saw emergency personnel attending to the injured. He frantically searched for any sign of Tiffany and Luca, praying that they were not seriously hurt.
And then, relief flooded over him as he saw Tiffany and Luca standing beside the wreckage, tears streaming down her face. She looked shaken but relatively unharmed. He rushed to her side, unable to contain his emotions any longer.
“Tiffany!” he exclaimed, wrapping his arms around her in a tight embrace. “Are you okay? What happened?’
She clung to him, still trembling from the shock of the accident. “Shawn,” she sobbed, burying her face in his chest. “The brakes… they failed. We were lucky to survive.”
He held her even tighter, his heart breaking at her tears. He thanked his lucky stars that she was safe, but couldn’t help but feel anger and worry bubbling inside of him. Her car brakes failed? How was that possible?
He turned to Luca. “Are you okay, Man?”
“Yes, I am. We are lucky we didn’t run into a truck that just sped past.”
“How come the brakes failed? I’m never careless with vehicles under my roof. I ensure they are properly serviced.”
“Umm…on the other hand, the brakes did not fail on their volition. The brake wires were severed. I checked because I suspected something was fishy.” Luca explained.
“I thought as much,” Shawn said, clenching his fists.
“Someone made an attempt at her life again. I don’t think I’m the target, and whoever did it, did it while we were inside the supermarket.” Luca said and I sighed in resignation.
He was right. Whoever was after Tiffany knew her and was probably stalking her to know every of her movements. I clench my fists in anger, as it dawned on me that she was in grave danger and I’m doing a poor job in protecting her.
“Let’s go home. I will call Mark to tow the car to the mechanic.” I say leading her to my car. “C’mon, join us.” I said and turned to Luca.
He nodded and got in the car and I drove off.
RACHEL’S POV
Her heart raced with anticipation as she watched the car collide with the pole. She was sure that no one could survive such a fatal collision. A wicked smile spread across her face, relieved that her plan to get rid of the girl might finally succeed. Too bad, the man had to be in the picture too. She had carefully cut the brake lines, making it impossible for them to stop in time. It was a perfect crime, or so she thought.
Refusing to call 911, She sat back in her car eager to witness their demise firsthand. The satisfaction overwhelmed her as she was certain that that was the end of the little girl.
However, to her surprise, the faint sound of sirens grew closer, and emergency personnel arrived at the scene. Panic began to grip her bones as she realized that someone had called for help. How had they managed to survive? Were they somehow invincible?
As the ambulance doors swung open, a surge of anger and disbelief consumed her. The man and the girl walked out of the wreckage unscathed, as if the collision had never taken place. It was a scene that defied her evil expectations, making her question everything she believed to be true.
A few minutes later, she watched in disbelief as Shawn arrived at the scene. She kept gaping as he emerged from his car and rushed to the girl’s side. They embraced each other in a tight hug, and confusion gnawed at her. Why was he here? He was supposed to be at work. How had he gotten information of the accident?
Realizing staying there was pointless as she might get spotted, she turned on the car ignition and drove away.
She arrived home and ran up to her room to sob. Her plan failed yet again and to think that Shawn was always there to rescue her broke her heart the more. Can’t she just die and let her have the man of dreams? No matter how hard she tried, the girl always had a way of escaping.
Hissing angrily, she walked to the bar and took out a bottle of alcoholic wine. She opened her drawer and took out the case of cigarettes stacked away. Lighting it, she took a long drag. She puffed the smoke into the air and took more drags. Soon, the room became clouded with smokes yet she didn’t stop. She kept smoking as tears of anger trickled down her cheeks incessantly.
Life was just so unfair to her all the time. She had to struggle for everything she ever wanted. On the other hand, most people get the same things easily. Even when they didn’t have to struggle or fight for them.
She continued taking drags upon drags from the cigarette and Keith gulping down the alcohol. By the time she fell asleep, she consumed half of the alcohol and five cigarettes.
The next morning she woke up with a banging migraine, and when she tried to get off the bed she fell back on it. It felt like her head was being hit with multiple harmers at the same time. She knew she couldn’t go to work in that condition so she managed to grab her phone and call in sick at work. After the call ended, she fell asleep again.
