Chapter 70

Book:Blind Date With Mr Arrogant Published:2025-3-31

TIFFANY’S POV
She stayed up waiting for Shawn in the living room. She doesn’t want to call him so she doesn’t appear desperate. She stared at the characters in the movie playing on the television, but she was actually not watching them.
She looked up at the clock and it was 9:00 pm. Deciding that she had waited enough, she turned off the television and went up to her room.
She woke up early the next morning and after preparing, she walked downstairs. She met Shawn having breakfast in the dinning.
“Good morning.” She greeted.
“Good morning.” He replied.
Tiffany walked into the kitchen and returned with a bowl of cereal.
“You came in late last night.” She said casually.
He turned to look at her momentarily, before turning back to his food. “Yes, I did. I was out with a friend.”
“Okay. That’s nice.” Tiffany replied.
They continued with their meal until Shawn broke the silence. “About the other night…” He began, but Tiffany cut him short.
“Don’t say it. You want to apologize and call it a mistake? Then don’t say it.” Tiffany said.
“I Just want to apologize…”
“You don’t have to apologize for anything. You did nothing wrong.” Tiffany said and got up.
She took her plate to the kitchen and after washing and putting it away she went back to the living room.
“I’m off to school. Have a nice day.” She said, before walking out.
She got to school and everything went normal with the usual school activities.
It was recess time and she went to the cafeteria with her friends. While at the cafeteria, she used her eyes to look for Oscar but couldn’t find him.
She was about to give up when she saw him walk in. She quickly excused herself from her friends and Walked to him.
“Hi, Oscar.” She said.
“Hi, Tiffany. I hope you are not here to accuse me again?” He asked in an unfriendly tone.
“Not at all. Actually, I want to apologize for my attitude yesterday. It was uncalled for and believe me, if I could take all I said back, I would not hesitate to.” Tiffany said.
“I’m sorry, but you are not forgiven.” Oscar said.
“Why? I promise it won’t happen again.” Tiffany said.
“Can we talk later? We are at the cafeteria and people are staring.” Oscar said.
Tiffany looked around and noticed it was true. “Okay. Where do we talk?” She asked.
“Meet after recess at our spot.” Oscar said and walked away.
Tiffany sighed as she walked back to her friends. She badly wanted to earn his forgiveness.
“What business do you have with that Oscar boy?” Timothy asked curiously as she returned to her seat.
“Nothing serious.” Tiffany replied.
“And why don’t I believe that? Look, Tiffany. I don’t trust that boy.” Timothy.
“Me neither. I’m sorry to say this, but he looks like a criminal.” Freya added.
“Freya! Can you just stop judging him? He is human too!” Tiffany said.
“I’m sorry, but I can’t. I don’t like him” Freya said.
“Same way not everyone likes you either.” Tiffany retorted.
“What did you say? Did you just say that to me?” Freya asked in disbelief.
“Freya, she didn’t mean like that. Calm down.” Timothy said, trying to pacify Freya.
“I’m out of here.” Freya said and walked away.
“Tiff, that was harsh.” Timothy scolded.
“I know. I will apologize to her later.” Tiffany said.
“You can’t fight with your friends because of a stranger. You know, right?”
“I know. Can we please talk about something else?” Tiffany asked.
“Okay. But you have to apologize to Freya later.
Recess was soon over and Tiffany bought a burger for Freya as a peace offering.
“Here. Don’t be mad at me, okay?” She said, as she handed the burger to Freya when she got to class.
“You can’t bribe me with a burger. You were rude to me.” Freya said, refusing to take the burger.
“I know, and I’m sorry. Please, accept my peace offering.” Tiffany said, shoving the burger in her hands.
“I forgive you. And thanks for being thoughtful enough to get me this. Truth is, I am hungry because I didn’t eat much at the cafeteria.” Freya said as she took a bite from the burger.
“I will be back.” Tiffany suddenly said and hurried out of the class. She just remembered her meeting with Oscar.
As she expected, he was sitted and waiting for her.
“I’m sorry I kept you waiting.” She apologized.
“It’s fine. You said you wanted to earn my forgiveness earlier, right?” Oscar asked.
“Yes, I did say that.” Tiffany replied.
“I have thought about it, and the only way you can do that is by agreeing to be my Geography tutor.” Oscar said.
“Seriously? Are you still serious about that?” Tiffany asked in surprise.
“Yes, I am. My stance has not changed.” Oscar said.
“Fine. But how, where and when do I teach you?” Tiffany asked.
“You can teach me with your lesson notes and textbooks, and you can teach me here. When to teach me will be during recess.” Oscar said.
“You don’t expect me to forfeit going for lunch just to teach you, do you?” Tiffany asked.
“Of course not. Recess is two hours. We can use one hour out of it.” Oscar suggested.
“You are not serious. An hour is a lot.” Tiffany said.
“You are trying to earn my forgiveness, right?” Oscar asked, trying to guilt trip her.
“Yes, I am. And look here, I can decide not to, but I’m doing this to clear my conscience off any guilt. Thirty minutes or nothing.” Tiffany said with a note of finality.
“Okay, then.” Oscar said.
“Great, we have a deal.” Tiffany said and walked away.
She was about to get to her class when she bumped into Mary.
” You must be feeling like the Queen of the school because you won the competition.” Mary said, sneering at her.
“I have always been the Queen around here. Winning the competition was more like another topping to the cake.” Tiffany said.
“Don’t feel so special, bitch. You are nothing.” Mary said.
“Tell that to someone who has low self-esteem, because I am not in any way shaken by your petty talk. I am Tiffany Dion, and I am above average, my darling.” Tiffany said, irking Mary the more.
“Use that to console yourself. You’re worth nothing.” Mary insisted.
“Can you taste your lie? Must taste bitter as you utter those words. You on the other hand is actually the nonentity here. You bully people just to stay in the limelight. And when you can’t be like someone, you hate them. You are petty and pathetic, Mary Quevara.” Tiffany said.
“How dare you?” Mary said and made to pull her hair, but Tiffany stopped her.
“If I were you, I wouldn’t do that. You should walk away. That’s what sore losers like yourself do.” Tiffany said, flinging Mary’s hand down before walking away.
MARY’S POV
She would have turned into a serial killer if not for the fact that they were in school. She badly wanted to wrap her hands around Tiffany’s neck and snuff the life out of her.
She felt pained at how Humiliated Tiffany Made her with her words. And it irked her the more because Tiffany was right about everything she said.
She just wished to wake up one day and hear that Tiffany Dion died in her sleep or she dropped dead. She hated the existence of her and would do anything to get rid of her.
She looked around to see if anyone witnessed their encounter, and when she saw no one in sight, she flipped her hair and catwalked away.
