OSCAR’S POV
He knew she was going to come, so he waited for her.
“Hey, you asked that I meet you here. You had better be fast with what you have to say.” She said rudely.
“Look here, Miss. I call the shots here and if you want your dirty secret to remain a secret, you have to abide by my rules.” He said, menacingly.
“Okay. I’m listening.” She said, reluctantly.
“Good. All of these are about Tiffany Dion..”
TIFFANY’S POV
She hurriedly left the class without bidding her friends goodbye. She wanted to be home on time so she could prepare for her dinner date with Shawn.
“Hey, Tiffany.” She heard her name from behind.
“Oh, hey.” She replied cheerfully.
“You seem to be in a rush. What’s up?” Oscar asked.
“Yes. I have something to do at home.” Tiffany replied, still walking.
“So, I wanted to tell you something, but since you are in a hurry, I will tell you some other time.” Oscar said.
“Wait! You can say what it is. I think I have a few minutes to spare.” Tiffany said, stopping him from leaving.
“Okay. I’m having issues with Geography and I was told you are the best geography student in the whole of shine.” Oscar said.
“Okay?” Tiffany asked.
“I was wondering if you will teach me. Like, take me on extramural classes. I don’t mind paying.” Oscar said.
“You do realize I’m not a teacher, right?” Tiffany asked, amused.
“I know. Please help me, if not for anything but for the fact that I helped you the other day.” Oscar said.
“Are you trying to guilt trip me?” Tiffany asked.
“No, I’m not. But, they say one good turn deserves another.” Oscar said.
“I will think about it. I have to go.” Tiffany said, and hurried away.
SHAWN’S POV
He looked at his wrist watch anxiously, silently waiting for work to close.
Immediately the clock ticked 4:00 o, clock, he picked up his suit jacket from the chair and his briefcase before heading out of the office.
He met Rachel on her way up to his office. “I was hoping we would go home together. I didn’t come with my car.” She said.
“That’s fine. I won’t drop you at your house though.” Shawn said.
“Why? That’s the point of giving me a lift.” She asked.
“I will drop you at the bus stop. I have to be somewhere.” Shawn said as they got into the elevator.
“Where is that?” Rachel asked, not able to hide her curiousity.
“It’s personal.” Shawn said.
“Okay, then.” Rachel said, pretending to be cool.
They got out at the last floor before heading for the exit of the company.
“Are you still coming with me?” Shawn asked.
“No. I changed my mind.” Rachel said.
“Okay, then.” Shawn said getting into his car. “I will see you tomorrow.” He added before driving out of the company.
She immediately brought out her phone. “Follow him. He just left the company.” She ordered before dropping the call.
TIFFANY’S POV
She was at a loss on what to wear. Why does she care anyway? She would dress like she would, if she was going out with her friends.
He was taking her out for dinner not because he was sorry but because he felt compelled.
After much deliberation, she settled for a silver satin dress, black block heel, silver drop earrings and silver purse.
She applied just powder and lipgloss for makeup, before going to check herself in the mirror.
Satisfied with how she looked, she walked downstairs to wait for Shawn.
Just then, the door went open and Shawn walked in. He stopped dead in his tracks as he stared at her.
“You are ready already?” He asked, regaining composure.
“Yes.” Tiffany replied.
“Okay. I will be down in a bit. And with that, he headed upstairs.
SHAWN’S POV
She looked good, and he could not deny the fact. He hurriedly got into the bathroom to freshen up.
After bathing, he changed into a fresh suit, sprayed his perfume before heading back downstairs.
“We can leave now.” He said to Tiffany as he got down.
And they both walked out into the car outside. Shawn took over the steering and soon they were on their way.
MAX’S POV
He angrily threw the stub of cigarette away and asked the lady giving him a lap dance to get off him.
The bitch had to ruin his moment again. “Okay, girl. Let’s do this some other time.” He said, throwing on his shirt.
“Do you have to leave? I was really enjoying the moment.” The lady asked, whining.
“I have to leave if I want to be able to pay you well the next time you come around. Now, fuck off.” Max said, and left the room.
He got into his car, and drove off.
RACHEL’S POV
“Yo, they are at a restaurant. They just arrived.” Max said, over the phone.
Rachel immediately ended the call. So, taking that fiance of his for dinner was what he tagged personal?
But wait? Why were they back together? They were supposed to be fighting and not coming out together to have dinner.
The fact that her plans were not going the way she wanted irked her.
TIFFANY’S POV
She was surprised when they walked into an old quaint restaurant. Was he sure he had not missed his way?
“I know that look, alright. I discovered this place when my Friend Bryan brought me one day. My reaction was not different from yours, but when I tasted their meal, it was so nice. I was out of ideas on where to bring you, so I thought of this place.” Shawn said, as they took their seats.
“Well, I hope it is worth the hype.” Tiffany said, looking around the place.
Soon, a waiter approached them and took their orders and after a few minutes they were served.
They had bison stew and wild rice, and of course Tiffany ordered for her seafoodSalmon and oyster.
She relished the food as she had not had anything like it. She was definitely going to bring her friends to come have a taste of these heavenly dishes.
“Do you like it?” Shawn asked, staring at her.
“I do. Thank you for bringing me here.” She replied.
“It is fine. I’m glad you like it.” He replied, before focusing on his food.
SHAWN’S POV
“So tell me. Do you have a boyfriend?” Shawn asked, reluctantly.
She stopped to stare at him before answering “No.”
“Why?” He probed further.
“Because I do not want to.” She replied.
“Have you ever had one before?” He asked again.
“I have. In 11th grade. We broke up because he relocated to Africa with his mum who was a research professor.”
They spend the next few hours of the night talking and catching up a bit.
“So, what are your hobbies…?” Shawn asked and immediately, his phone rang.
He sighed as he saw Rachel’s name on the caller ID.
“Hello?” He answered.
“Shawn, my ulcer is back. My stomach is on fire, kindly help me please.” Rachel’s raspy voice sounded on the phone.
“I have to go, no, we have to go. My friend is sick and needs my help.” Shawn said, getting up.
Tiffany stared up at him in surprise. ” Are we taking her to the hospital?” She asked, getting up too.
“I don’t know. Let’s go.” He said, dropping wads of notes on the table before they hurried out.
