SHAWN’S POV
He scrolled through his phone searching for restaurants in Vancouver that sell the best seafood. When he found one, he placed an order.
After that, he went up to his library. He took out one of his fancy jotters and got a pen. He tore a page from the jotter and inscribed “This jerk is sorry. Xoxo, S. G”
Then he went downstairs to wait for his order to arrive. A few minutes later it arrived, and he carefully inserted the note into the well packed paper bag that contained the food.
After that, he called his logistics driver and gave it to him to deliver to Tiffany at school.
He was new to all of this, and he hoped it would work.
TIFFANY’S POV
They had just had their last lesson for the first half of the day, when a student came to call her.
“A delivery man is asking to see you, Tiffany.” The student said to her, as she walked out of the class with Freya.
“Me? Are you sure you are not mistaken?” Tiffany asked, taken aback.
“Aren’t you Tiffany Dion?” The student asked, getting upset already.
“I am.”
“Then go see him at the gate.” The student said walking away.
“Come on. I will follow you ” Freya offered, and they both walked towards the gate.
They got there and met the delivery man.
“Tiffany Dion, I have a package for you. Please, sign here.” The man said on seeing her.
“Umm…do you know who sent me this?” She asked.
“Here, sign here. You will know who sent it when you open the package.” The man said, handing her a booklet to sign on.
After which he handed her the package, got on his bike and drove away.
“Don’t worry, it is not a letter bomb.” Freya teased her.
“I hope so, because I am not expecting any package from anyone.”
They went to a secluded part of the school and opened the package. They burst into laughter when they found out it was food. And then Freya read the content of the note aloud.
“This jerk is sorry. Xoxo S. G.”
Tiffany gasped and snatched the note from her.
“Aww…so sweet.” Freya said, crossing her arms around her chest and making a funny face.
Tiffany knew immediately it was from Shawn. She found it to believe he would apologize in such a manner.
The man was unpredictable and fluctuating. She smiled at his thoughtfulness. He remembered she loved seafood. She has no option but to forgive him.
“Come on, let’s go to the cafeteria and dig into this.” she said and grabbed Freya’s hand.
“Not until you tell me who sent this.” Freya said, refusing to move.
“Come on. I will tell you while we eat.
“Wait, I think I know who. Oh my God! It’s Shawn Gold. That’s what the initials S. W stands for.”
“Always the smart one. I’ll give you that.” Tiffany said, smiling lightly.
“Aww…did you guys fight?” You know, couple’s fight.” Freya asked.
“Come on, Freya.” Tiffany said walking off.
“What did you guys fight over? Who holds the T. V remote? Tell me, Tiff. Why are you being stingy with the gist?” Freya asked, falling into step with her.
SHAWN’S POV
He was restless at home and kept wondering if she would forgive him. He hoped she would accept his apology and forgive him.
He was still deep in thought when his phone rang. His face immediately scrunched up in a frown when he saw it was Rachel. He was not in the mood to talk to her, but decided to, after his phone kept ringing incessantly.
“Rachel?” He answered.
“Are you avoiding me, Shawn?”
“Is that why you called?”
“No. Of course not. Leslie said you called in sick. You didn’t bother to tell me, Shawny.” She said.
There she goes again, always nagging.
“I forgot to. What do you want, Rachel?”
“You forgot? Anyways, where are you?”
“I’m at home.”
“Fine. I’m coming over. I will stop by Urban delight to get you some hot soup. Have you had any medication or even seen a doctor? We can go together if you haven’t.”
His house? Never!
“I forgot to tell you, Rachel, my Dad is coming over. We have some personal issues to discuss and he will be bringing me some soup too.” Shawn quickly said.
“Are you sure?” Rachel asked, not convinced.
“Yes. In Fact, I think I can hear him at the door. Hold on, Dad. Bye, Rachel.” And with that, he hurriedly ended the call.
He heaved a sigh of relief and made the cross sign. When did she become so clingy?
His phone rang again and he jolted in surprise. Why can’t she leave him alone? He took a closer look at the phone and realized it was his Dad. Speak of the devil.
“Good morning, Dad.” He greeted.
“I called your office and was told you called in sick. What Happened to you?”
“I’m feeling a bit under the weather.”
“You should see a doctor. You can’t fall sick when your court marriage is on Saturday.” His father said.
Shawn’s breath hitched, and he coughed. “Come again, Dad.”
“You heard me right. The agreement was that she would move in with you, you will get your marriage registered and then have your White wedding after she graduated.”
“You decided this with Mr. Dion, right?” Shawn asked.
“Of course. Do you have a problem with that?” Mr. Gold asked.
“Not at all. I will talk to you later, Dad.” And he ended the car.
Once upon a time, he had his life figured out and had everything in control, but the past few weeks had gotten things spiralling in different directions. Nothing was in his control anymore!
His mind went to Tiffany. How will she take the news? Their engagement was just last week Saturday and this Saturday they were getting married.
They are finding it hard to live together since they got engaged, how will they cope as man and wife? His father and Mr. Dion had to be the worst conspirators he had ever seen. The two older men always have something up their sleeves
Too tired to think or do anything, he went up to his room and sprawled on the bed giving way to sleep.
RACHEL’S POV
She clenched her first in frustration. He was avoiding her, and was doing a bad job hiding it.
She knew he lied about his father coming over. He didn’t want to have her around and that gave her a sickening feeling in her stomach.
That Tiffany girl was the cause of everything and it irked the hell out of her. Things were going on fine between herself and Shawn until Tiffany showed up. Now things have spiralled out of her control. She hated the girl! And she would do everything and anything to get her out of the way if she kept proving to be a potential threat.
