RACHEL’S POV
She felt like hauling something across the wall, but she knew better.
She stared at the money and felt like tearing them into shreds.
She brought him there so they could have lunch, catch up on lost times and enjoy the moment together. But no! The witch had to ruin everything.
At that moment, she regretted telling Shawn about Tiffany and Jimin’s presence in the .
She should have kept her mouth shut and enjoyed her time with him.
Frustrated and angry, she pressed the button beneath the table, and a waiter rushed to her.
“How much is the bill?” He answered her and she paid, leaving him a tip.
As she walked out of the , her hatred for Tiffany Dion tripled.
TIFFANY’S POV
She rushed back to the company, got into the car and drove out of the company in a haste.
Shawn Gold was nothing but a jerk, and she felt sorry for Jimin for stringing him into her problem. But she hated herself the most for using the poor guy as a pawn in her silly revenge game.
She got home, parked the car, alighted and got inside. As she got inside, she let tears flow incessantly.
She wanted to let everything out. The embarrassment Shawn caused her and her selfishness towards Jimin.
She hoped their paths would cross some other time, and she would get to apologize to him. She didn’t know when she fell asleep on the couch and only woke up when her stomach grumbled in hunger.
She made for the kitchen, and took out the sandwich from earlier that afternoon from the microwave.
Sitting on the kitchen table, she devoured it at a go. Heaven knows how hungry she was. She washed it down with water and went to the sink to wash the plate and cup and returned them to their place.
After that, she headed upstairs to her room.
She peeled off her clothes from her body and went to stand in front of the mirror. She gently trailed her fingers on her swollen face and puffy eyes. All she craved at that moment was to bath and go to bed, and keep the events of the day behind.
SHAWN’S POV
He got home and went up to his room to freshen up. He felt guilty and didn’t know how to face Tiffany. It was a good thing that he did not see her as he got home.
After freshening up and getting settled in bed, his thoughts kept wandering to Tiffany. After contemplating for some time, he decided to go to her room. He wanted to know the reasons for her action. Why did she bring him lunch to work? And why did she go ahead to flirt with a stranger and go out for lunch with him.
He dragged his feets out of his room to her door. Then he knocked on it.
There was no response, and he knocked again. Yet no response. As he made to leave, he heard a low “Come in.”
He opened the door, and saw her seated on the bed, her face a bit swollen and her eyes Puffy.
“Have you been crying?” He asked.
“Why are you here?” She asked, in a harsh tone.
“I wanted to know your reasons for bringing me lunch and flirting with an intern at my company.”
“Is this the apology I’m supposed to be getting?”
“Why should I apologize? I did nothing wrong.”
“You did nothing wrong, you say? Now, let me tell you everything you did wrong.” Tiffany got up and stood in front of him.
“I got home from school and decided to make lunch, but on second thought, I decided to make yours too. If not for anything, but for letting me use your car this morning. I took my time to make that food. And without eating myself, I rushed over to give you the food. What did I get in return? You made a fool of me in front of your mistress, or should I say your childhood sweetheart like she called herself. You were not even considerate enough to accept the food. You kept flirting with her in my presence. So, when I got to the reception and that intern of yours tried to talk to me, I gave him my attention. I wanted to give him the food but he suggested we go to an eatery so I gave it to your receptionist. Believe me, I followed him because I was hungry and if I had known you were there I wouldn’t have gone there with him.” She paused to take a breath, and then continued. “What did you do when you saw us? You came over and scared the poor guy. He was doing something you can not do and would never think of doing except compelled by your father. You know, I hate myself for bringing that lunch to you!” She screamed.
SHAWN’S POV
He stared at her in shock. Unable to say anything for sometime.
What has he done? He was unaware of everything she just said. He just wanted to piss her off and that was why he flirted with Rachel. Shawn had never felt that bad in his entire life. He felt like a jerk and a bully.
“I don’t know what to say, Tiffa…” He made to say but she cut him short. “Of course you wouldn’t know what to say. I have come to the conclusion that you care about nothing or anyone else but yourself and I need you to leave my room.” She ordered in a hard tone.
Not knowing what to say and how to say it, He murmured a low “Good night” and left.
TIFFANY’S POV
She knew what she was saying when she said he was pompous and arrogant. He didn’t even bother to apologize.
He was just a self absorbed narcissistic, and coming to stay with him was more than a bad idea.
At that moment, she missed home, and her Dad. She regretted not having a mother to cry to, and most especially she blamed her father’s company for being at the verge of going bankrupt, else she would still have her life back.
SHAWN’S POV
He felt horrible as he got to his room. He could tell that she was deeply hurt and it was all his fault. He couldn’t even apologize to her.
Maybe she was right. He doesn’t care about anything and anyone but himself.
The next morning, he woke up tired and unmotivated. He decided to call in sick and stay back at her home.
He was having breakfast when she came down, dressed for school.
“Good morning. I made you breakfast.” He hurriedly said, as she made to walk out the door.
She stopped, looked at the food, glared at him before walking out the door.
What was he expecting? That she would just warm up to him after what happened.
He needed her to forgive him. The fact that he doesn’t like her doesn’t mean he was a jerk that hurt girls and made them cry.
Picking up his phone, he dialed Bryan’s number.
“Hey, Man.” Bryan answered from the other end.
“Sorry to disturb you, Man. I need your help.”
“Go ahead.”
“I need help on how to apologize to a girl for being a jerk.”
Bryan went silent before bursting into laughter.
“Man, who did you upset?” He asked, trying to suppress his laughter.
“It’s not funny. I do not want to go into details, please. Can you help?”
“Of course, I can. The best way is a gift. But, it has to be something she likes.”
“I don’t even know what she likes.”
“Think hard, Man.” Bryan urged.
“Seafood. She loves seafood!” Shawn exclaimed.
“Nice one. You can order it from a nice restaurant or eatery and add a card with your apology on it.” Bryan added.
“Thank you so much, Bryan.”
“Anytime, Man. Catch you later.”
