The red-haired girl almost fell on her knees in remorse.
“I am so sorry.” She kept repeating, trying to dab Tiffany’s dress with a handkerchief.
“No, it’s fine. I have to go.” She hurried outside to meet everyone waiting.
“Seems like keeping people waiting is one of your best characteristics.” Shawn snarled before getting into the car.
Mr Gold and Mr Dion immediately threw their faces away. They didn’t want to be part of the couple’s tantrums.
“Whatever.”. She replied, deciding against an apology before getting into the car.
SHAWN’S POV
See why he said she was tardy, rude, and a brat. Imagine keeping everyone waiting simply because she wanted to appear nice to some strangers.
She could not even offer an apology. And come to think of it, why does she have the stains of spilled drink on her dress? Always clumsy he thought as he cast her an annoying look.
TIFFANY’S POV
See why she said he was pompous and full of himself. Imagine telling her that keeping people waiting was one of her best characteristics. The guy is rude and insensitive, hence her decision not to apologize.
It is not her fault that people wanted to take pictures with her, unlike him. With those thoughts in mind, she turned to give him a dirty look and was surprised to see him also glaring at her.
RACHEL’S POV.
“Hmmm…Childhood friend and work partner.” She muttered, stabbing the doughnut on her plate with a fork.
The hell of him to describe her as that. Is that all she meant to him? A friend? A work partner.
“Goddamn it!” She yelled, hauling the doughnut away.
A highschool girl Just came into the picture to make away with someone she has had her eyes and heart on for years. It’s funny how people can be selfish. That Tiffany girl is a thief! And she was not going to let her have what she wantsShawn.
SHAWN’S POV
He stopped the car in front of the Dion’s gate, and Tiffany alighted.
There had been a tension in the car since they caught each other glaring. He was surprised when she turned and gave him an angry look in the car. When it happened they had both looked away immediately. So much for glaring at each other.
Now, as they both stood outside the gate, he was at a loss on what to say.
Luckily, Mr Dion arrived, it seemed like Mr Gold had gone home.
“Shawn, come in for a cup of coffee.” He said from the car before driving in.
Shawn had no option but to go in, and Tiffany followed suit.
Seated in the sitting room, coffee in hands, the older man and the younger man conversed. Tiffany had excused herself to go up and change.
“Tiffany is moving in with you tomorrow.” Mr Dion suddenly broke the news.
Shawn almost choked on his coffee, as he looked up to give the older man a puzzled look.
“Your father and I spoke about It while we were in the car heading back.” Mr Dion explained.
“Is she aware?” Shawn asked, getting over the shock.
“No. We will tell her when she gets down.”
“Don’t you think we are being rushed? It’s not like we are going to change our minds.” Shawn complained.
“Who knows? We never can tell what is going on in you young people’s minds.”
“This is ridiculous, I must say. Proposal today, moving in tomorrow.” Shawn said, drinking the last of his coffee.
TIFFANY’S POV.
She doesn’t know why her dad asked him to come in for coffee. All she wanted was for him to be long gone from their house.
The incident In the car got her tensed. Imagine turning to secretly glare at someone, only to see them glaring at you too.
“Miss Dion, your father asked you to come down.” James the butler announced from behind the door.
“Okay. I will be down a jiffy.” Tiffany replied, hoping Shawn will be gone.
Well she was not too surprised to see him still seated on the couch.
“Are you still here?” She asked, as she sat beside her father.
“Yes, I am. I know you can’t wait to get rid of me. But badgoodnews, you are moving in with me tonight.” Shawn said, smirking at her.
“Dad, is that true?” She turned to face her father.
“No. It’s supposed to be tomorrow, but if Shawn can’t wait to have you over at his place, then tonight is fine.” Mr Dion replied.
“Tell me you are kidding, Dad.”
“He is not. My father spoke to him about it. See why I said they make a very formidable duo.” Shawn replied.
“Dad. This is not right.” Tiffany whined.
“What is not right in getting to know your husbandtobe?” Mr Dion asked.
“I’m retiring to bed, kids. My frail bones are begging to rest. Tiffany, please see Shawn to his car. Good night, children.” Mr Dion said leaving the sitting room.
“Oh, please, Dad. You are not even old.” Tiffany said.
“I guess this is where I take my leave.” Shawn got up, and made for the door.
“And oh, you can stay back. You don’t have to see me off.”
“I never intended to. Drive safe and don’t get yourself killed.” With that, Tiffany turned on her heels and ascended the stairs.
“Brat!” Shawn murmured before going out.
She got inside her room and began pacing. Moving in with Shawn the next day felt like a mirage. She hated his guts!
Was she going to cook for him? clean his house and probably warm his bed?
“Arrrgh!” She grunted. Why did she think about that? There was no way she was going to let him touch her of course.
“Are you sure? He is going to be your husband soon.” A voice in her head reminded.
“I will ask for an open marriage. He can satisfy himself outside.” She retorted.
She hoped she wouldn’t go mad thinking about the whole situation.
To get her mind off of everything, she decided to chat with her friends.
@Lord Timothy II
“Hey, Lady Tiff.”
“You have not been online. What’s up?”
@Queen Freya.
“Lady Tiff, you there?”
“Oh my God! Tim, have you seen the news?”
@Lord Timothy II
“What news?”
@Queen Freya
“Shawn Gold proposed to Tiff.”
@Lord Timothy II
“Tiff, I can’t believe you did not tell us. Is that why you have been avoiding us?”
There were tons of messages waiting for her to reply in the group chat.
@Lady Tiff.
“Hello, everyone. I’m sorry for being away. I will explain everything at the right time.”
@Lord Timothy II
“Are you okay? I called and you were not picking up.”
@Queen Freya.
“Same here.”
@Lady Tiff
“It was not intentional, guys.”
@Lord Timothy II
“How about we hang out tomorrow being Sunday? We can talk about everything.”
@Queen Freya
Meeeeee!
Tiffany looked at the messages and felt a pang of guilt. How was she going to tell them that she can’t make it? In order to avoid lying to them, she went offline.
She was so scared of the outcome of tomorrow. Finally she fell into a turbulent sleep.
