Chapter 18

Book:Blind Date With Mr Arrogant Published:2025-3-31

TIFFANY’S POV
She sat in her room lost in thought.
Yes, she had agreed to marry Shawn but nothing prepared her for the way things are panning out.
How can she stay under the same roof as that pompous fellow? They might have to kill each other just in one day of staying together.
Now she didn’t want to think about the public proposal. She had hoped they would have a quiet wedding with no need for a proposal.
Her father and his father the brains behind all of these should be wary of because their alliance spells trouble. How else does she explain them coming up with cohabitation as an option of all options available?
Well, to save her father’s company from bankruptcy, and ultimately save the lifestyle she is used to, she has to do it.
With that thought in mind, she placed the earphone over her ears and rolled over on the bed.
SHAWN’S POV
Before he knew it, it was Saturdaythe day of the proposal.
He had sent Tiffany a message the previous night informing her what the day would look like and when he was coming to pick her up.
After casting one last look at his reflection in the mirror, he grabbed his blazer from the bed, sprayed his body spray, and fixed the small ring box in his pocket.
“Let’s get it done and over with.” He mouthed before heading out.
As he drove to Tiffany’s house, his phone rang. It was Rachel calling.
“Hey, Shawn. It’s Saturday and I got us two tickets to see a movie at the cinema.” She said excitedly over the phone.
“Ummm… I’m so sorry, Rachel but I have a meeting I’m heading to right now.”
“A meeting on Saturday?” She asked suspiciously.
“Yes, it’s an impromptu one. Foreign investors are having me for lunch. Let’s talk later, Rachel.” Shawn said as he drove into the estate.
“Oh, okay. You owe me one, though.” Rachel said, trying to mask her disappointment.
“Sure, I do.” Shawn ended the call as he parked the car in front of the gate. There was no point going in, as they would still leave immediately.
He dialed Tiffany’s number, “I’m at your gate. Come out now.” He said before ending the call.
A few seconds later, the gate opened and she stepped out.
He must admit that she looked good in the oxblood-colored dress that stopped just above her knees, showing off her long legs. The dress has a short slit, short cap offshoulder sleeves, and a deep vneckline. She wore a simple black heel with low-block heels.
Her neck was adorned with a delicate gold necklace that had a heart-shaped pendant and shone when it came in touch with light.
Her bracelet and earrings are a matching set with the necklace.
Her hair was neatly styled and parked in a ponytail at the nape of her neck and it exposed her pretty neck and collarbones.
“You look good.” He murmured before turning and getting into the car.
“Thank you.” She replied and got in too.
“So, remember to act surprised when I propose,” Shawn said as he drove through the estate.
“Yeah, I know,” Tiffany replied before looking out the window. At least today he let the car glass down.
They did not speak to each other again until they arrived at the restaurantD’AMOR.
As they got down, Shawn led her into the restaurant and to the reservation area.
He spotted his father and Mr Dion sitting on the table next to their reserved table, acting like they knew nothing about what was going to happen.
Shawn drew out a chair for Tiffany to sit and she mouthed a thank you before sitting.
He beckoned to a waiter and they both placed their order. His face scrunched up in a frown when Tiffany ordered her usual seafood.
But he had a hold of himself. It’s her day, so he will let her enjoy it.
The waiter soon arrived with their order, and they began eating. A few minutes into it, Shawn decided to start a mini conversation while buying himself time.
“So, what do you enjoy about seafood?”
Tiffany looked up from her food and gave him a surprised look.
Maybe she was not expecting him to talk to her. But he has to. He can’t just jump into the proposal thing without having a conversation with her. At least that is what real lovers do. They talk first before the guy proposes.
“I don’t know, I just enjoy eating them and spicy foods.” Tiffany finally replied.
“You know, it’s funny how you have not put on a lot of weight with your eating pattern and food choice.” He said, staring at her food plate that had been eaten halfway.
“What is that supposed to mean?” She asked, raising her eyebrows at him.
“What you heard and you are free to make whatever meaning out of it.” He said, sipping his drink while watching her closely.
She clenched her fist, unclenched it, and then focused on her food. Well, it’s a good thing she is trying to comport herself, meaning she respects their reason for being there.
Unexpectedly, Shawn stood up and whistled.
“Listen up, everyone. Something spectacular is about to go down.”
Tiffany’s eyes widened in shock. She hoped it was not what she was thinking. She turned to her father and saw him grinning with Mr. Gold.
And just as she turned back to stare at Shawn and ask why he needed people’s attention before he proposed, she saw him knelt on the floor, a ring in hand…
TIFFANY’S POV
“Tiffany, will you grant me the honor of being my wife?” He asked her with a sincere tone.
She almost believed his expression to be real and true, but then, she knew everything was a sham.
Suddenly, chants of “Say yes!” filled the restaurant, as all eyes were now on them.
People were taking pictures and making videos, capturing the moment a billionaire proposes to a high school girl.
Tiffany was even shocked when she saw the paparazzi. There were shutters of cameras and flashes of light on them, and at that moment she knew she had to do it.
“Yes, I will be your wife.” She said, stretching out her ring finger to him, and he gently inserted the ring. It was a perfect fit!
The restaurant erupted into noises of people clapping. Their fathers walked up to them smiling in satisfaction.
Mr. Gold shook Shawn’s hand and gave him a pat on the back, while Mr. Dion gave Tiffany a bear hug.
“Now that everything is done. let’s make a toast.” Mr. Gold said excitedly, popping open a La Vostra prosecco wine.
He decanted a reasonable quantity in our glasses and proposed the toast.
“We are toasting to life, unity, happiness, and a strong family alliance.” With that, we clicked our glasses.
“You know, this has to be one of the best days of my life.” Dad began.
