Jake’s POV
Without hesitation I slammed the phone to the wall as I heard the sloppy sounds of their kissing. The phone fell and smashed to pieces. My heart hammered in my chest, and my breath came out all ragged.
“That bastard” I gritted my teeth.
“how dare Chase do that to me!” I barked aloud. That fool. Who the hell does he think he is. I smirked. I guess he was trying to mark his territory. I grounded my teeth.
I knew exactly what to do. he might have won the war but definitely not the battle. Even too how come, I didn’t know were now in good terms? I thought that was what Dean said. I slammed my hand on my table and the pain went straight to my head. I rubbed it.
“Fred!”
My beta ran into the room. ” Yes your highness”
“Where is Dean?”
“Your highness I haven’t seen him since the last time he came over”
I sighed. That Idiot. He better not show his face in front of me or I would smash it. I thought he was reliable.
“Leave!” I ordered.
Fred began to leave but suddenly he stopped. Hr walked to me. I tilted my head in his direction. ” What?” I snapped.
“Your highness, you are needed in the pack meeting. They have not been able bee to-”
I narrowed my eyes at him.
“I’m sorry your highness” and he immediately disappeared. I sighed as I sat in my chair and began to think of ways to set my plans in motion. I racked my brain but nothing was coming close. Maybe a chat with my inner circle will settle all these. Yes. I needed help.
********************************************
It was late in the evening, in those times where the moon was seemed shy to grace the sky. It was perfect and beautiful. Especially for me and the people I had gathered.
As I sipped on my glass of wine I watched them as they laughed and spoke in high voices. They were oblivious of what was to come. As they talked, I often would smile at them. Stupid people.
When I became tired of their incessant chattering like kindergarten children, I looked up. Fred with there. He nodded and walked out of the hall. When he arrived again, he was in the company of 5 of my men. Each of them carried with them a briefcase. They walked in like robots and stood behind these five men. They suddenly stopped talking and began to look around.
“Come on eat” I smiled gesturing to the food but they didn’t even move a muscle. I chuckled. ” Come on guys, you are making it look like I had done something bad. Look the food is free from poison. You have been eating it” I pointed at the table. They looked down, all of them refusing to eat or even look at me.
I sighed. ” What’s with people this days?” I said more to myself but I knew they could hear me. ” It’s like they are scared of me”
“Your…. your highness” one of them finally said. ” We will eat…its…it’s just that these men are scary” I watched as his hands were asking underneath the table.
I smirked. “Scary? These men are my men do you want them to just leave?”
They didn’t say anything. They keep avoiding my gaze.
“Boys open the brief case” I ordered. Gasps filled the air.
“so much money” one of them said. My men put the briefcases in front of them. I watched from their slightly parted lips to their wide eyes. I smirked. Greed. That was good. It wouldn’t be hard to get down to do the work. Mike my best friend had the best ideas. I know this would work. By the time all this happens, they would not know what hit him.
“There’s more from where that came from if only you will do my bidding”
“What do you want?” One of them asked. Nodding, I massaged my beards and leaned forward at the table. So direct.
“As elders of the black moon pack, can you really other elders to go against the alpha” I watched them shift uncomfortably. I turned to Fred and he nodded. He went outside and came back with 10 more men. They had brief cases but this time they stood behind Fred. I could see the confusion and questions in the elder’s eyes.
“In each brief case is 10 million dollars.” I said pausing to let that sink in. ” In the other brief case is 30 million dollars. If you do what I want. All these money will be yours.”
Their eyes wide. Their hands shook. It was too good to be true. Top big for them”
“W…what we ha… have to do is make Alpha Chase get a mate right?”
I nodded. I saw the struggle. It was not hard to see.
“We wlll do it” the last person who spoke said.
“Sshh” one of them said eyeing him. Another elder tapped him. And so they quietly argued amongst themselves like animals sharing a piece of meet.
I watched them. It was fun though. I have always believed that everyone had a price. There was nothing like values and all that bullshit. All you had to do was press the right buttons and they would all so g like a bird.
“Your highness” one of the elders awakened me from my thoughts.
“Yes”
“We have made up our minds” he said. He was the one who spoke up first.
I tilted my head to aside. “What did you decide on?”
He turned and looked at hoa colleagues. They nodded. ” We agreed to do it”
“Goo-”
“But on one condition” he said.
“What?” I snapped.
“You keep everything that has happened between us in secret”
A slow smile began to spread on my lips. ” of course I will take this agreement to my grave”
They nodded smiling.
“Okay I think we are done here” I said standing they stood too and I extended my hand to them. They shook me and then left with the 3 brief cases, struggling to carry it as they got into their cars.
Their laughter filler the air. When I sat, I took a sip of my drink and called out to Fred.
“Yes your highness”
“Put 5 assassins on their trail”
“Is it if they fail?”
“Either way they should be killed”
“Yes you highness”
My golden ticket will be dean.
