Arya’s POV
Do you know that feeling you get when you have a best friend or boyfriend that you always talk to, but suddenly when you don’t talk for like 2 days, it feels like it’s been a year since you last spoke? Yeah, that’s the exact way I felt when I and Kelsi sat down to talk.
“Long time” I muttered as I took a sip of my drink, peering up at Kelsi.
“No talk” Kelsi completed. She was quiet and so was I. It was like we were lovers who wanted to reconcile.
I took in a deep breath. ” Okay, I need to say this before it kills me.” I moved the drink away from me and faced Kelsi in the garden. I took in a deep breath. However, it seemed to be all I was doing lately. I mean it would take balls and a bloated tummy fuller with my pride to apologize for what I had done. It was now I realized what Jake had done told me when we were younger. He told me I was proud and I agreed. I hated being wrong and hated apologizing and due to my penchant for being right always, it was easy to see my flaws and easy to call myself out of my rubbish.
” I know I fucked up and I’m incredibly sorry”
I looked up at her to see her staring at me. Kelsi had not yet said a word and I was beginning to get worried. The wind blew in our direction and it ruffled her hair in her face. She didn’t do anything to remove it and I itched to do so but I wasn’t sure whether we were still good. I swallowed and kept talking.
“Yes I agree with everything you said about me,” I said quietly. “I am the most ungrateful person in the universe and I don’t deserve all the good things in-”
“Oh stop babbling and come here” I raids my head up to see her smiling and her arms wide open. I began to cry as she hugged me patting my back and saying soothing words. “Come on babes, you are not going to be the only one who has made a mistake. We all have”
I shook my head. “I think I did worse. I bit the finger that fed me” I said in a muffled voice.
“Nah you didn’t and it’s not exactly your fault.” I quickly released her from the hug. Kelsi calmly nodded. “Yes somebody else is to be blamed for what had happened between you and Chase.”
Immediately I moved my chair closer to her and she burst into laughter. “Wait you knew this?” she shrugged at me and I felt betrayed and hurt at the same time.
“Kelsi you knew all these and you couldn’t tell me?”
“Sash” her eyes darted around like a common thief. “Your voice is loud.”
“We’ll let it,” I said my nose high in the air. She chuckled.
“Be Calm and I’ll tell you” she whispered.
“But why are telling me this now? Huh?”
She hissed. “Will you calm down Arya? I only knew about this some days ago and when I tried to tell you, I met you not in your room, with a note to take care of my godson” she said and I instantly felt worse. It was the day I rushed to the hospital in the morning with innocent. I neglected my son for that idiot. I felt more stupid than before.
Kelsi nudged me. “Don’t overthink it. We all make mistakes” She gave me a sad smile and I smiled back. “It was Mika”
I narrowed my eyes “What does Mika have to do with all this?”
“That witch,” Kelsi said in gritted teeth. “She is the reason you were so angry and went straight into Jake’s arms”
“What?” I gasped. Kelsi nodded.
“First off she fed you false information” and then Kelsi went on to explain all that had happened. She started with the news that Chase had gone to get a new Mate and explained everything. My eyes were the exact size of a watermelon as she went on talking. By the time she had finished talking, I was filled with guilt and I had this big urge to puke out all I had eaten.
“Please don’t tell me not to feel bad,” I said as soon as Kelsi finished talking and she chuckled. As I sat in silence, I began to understand why Chase was surprised at me when I went out with Jake. Oh the pain I must have caused him.
“I feel so horrible,” I said covering my face with my palms.
“Arya come on it is not the end of the world” She dragged one of my hands, making me see her face.
“It is to me Kels” I cried out. The next thing I wanted to say was drowned by the sudden crack of thunder and it immediately began to rain.
“Come on” Kelsi yelled and we ran into the palace. As soon as we got into the house, we looked at it from the other end and couldn’t believe what we were seeing. On the other side of the palace, the weather was pretty dry. There was no single sign that it was raining. I turned to the other side and it was sort of raining cats and dogs. I turned to Kelsi and suddenly we burst into laughter. We carried our wet selves and made our way to my room. As we went up the maids stared at us like as if we were crazy.
“That rain looked suspicious,” I said.
“Yeah like it had been sent by a witch,” Kelsi said we laughed while drying our hair and changing clothes. I and Kelsi talked about some other things and I couldn’t help but feel happy. One could tell by the pitch in my voice. When our jokes had died down, I tapped Kelsi.
“What?” she asked.
“I don’t know if I should tell you this but I think something is wrong with Chase”
Kelsi furrowed her eyebrows. “Like what?”
I looked around as if the wall had ears.” I think Chase always has nightmares”
Kelsi smiled. “Wait a minute you knew?’ I asked.
“Everyone knows Arya and the worst part-”
“The worst part is what?” I asked immediately.
She sighed and looked up at me. “It’s linked to you”
