Arya’s POV
I rolled and stretched like a lazy cat. Yawning, I sat up in bed, rubbing my hands over my eyes. “What time is it?” I muttered. Just then there was an impatient knock on my door. I scowled. “Who could it be at this early?”
“Who’s there?” I screamed as I dragged my half-awake self out of bed. I’d already imagined myself scolding this person who was disturbing me. Halfway to the door, I immediately felt like punishing my said person. I decided to use the bathroom. I didn’t open the door, till I was through with my business in the bathroom.
“Do You want to-”
“Arya, what were you doing all along?” Kelsi brushed past me and walked into the room. Then she suddenly turned. “You aren’t dressed?”
I scratched my head, wondering what was going on.
I gasped, clasping a hand over my mouth. “I slept in!” instantly I rushed into the bathroom.
“What happened?” Kelsi asked I screamed as the cold water made contact with my body.
“I don’t know. I slept past the alarm. I think I was tired.” I said wrapping a towel around me and walking to my dresser. “I can’t believe I forgot today is his big day”
I began to pick a dress and some shoes when Kelsi casually turned to me. “If you are not yet dressed, then is Chamberlin still in bed?”
I gasped. It was then I jumped into the first cloth I could find and bolted out of my room.
“Cham darling!” I rushed into his room. My heart raced. My son would never forgive me.
“Hi mum” he waved at me with a huge smile on. Relief washed through me as I saw that the maids had already gotten him dressed. They were combing his hair and wearing his shoes.
“We have to be -“Kelsi ran in and only stopped when she saw him. Her lips spread out in a slow smile.
“Oh my, Mr. Chamberlin, you look dashingly handsome young man”
My son turned to her and smiled. “Thanks, Aunt Kelsi, you don’t look bad yourself,” he said and that attracted a round of laughter from the maids and us. The other Finishing touches were done to him and I sent him off to stay with a personal maid. I begged her to keep an eye on him as he could go off playing and would make a mess of his clothes.
I went back to my room and began to get ready.
“Is this good” I raised a dress to my chest, facing Kelsi.
“It’s okay” she squeezed her face. “That was her way of saying they were not the best… I sighed and flopped down on the bed.
“What do I wear?” I sighed. Just then there was a knock on the door.
“Who’s there?” Kelsi screamed absent-mindedly as she scrolled through her phone. I walked into the bathroom to wash my face, uncaring that I was running late for the [party.
I heard my door swing open and I peeked out of the bathroom. “We are from the alpha”
“Oh come incoming” Kelsi opened the door wide for them. They walked in with a collection of clothes, make-up, shoes. A full set. My jaw dropped straight to the floor.
“Oh my gosh,” Kelsi said her eyes wide. I walked into the room with a bright smile on. And just like that 30 minutes later, we were ready. I was dressed in a sea-green flow gown. I paired it with pearls and my hair was in a high ponytail.
I needed no telling how I looked because as I walked into the event, all eyes were on me.

The party had begun in full force… music burst through the speakers and people danced and laughed. I could spot prominent figures. Like the original vampires and the oldest witch. I spotted my son playing with his peers in the children’s section after we had cut the cake.
“Do you know Chase invited everyone to Chamberlin’s Party?” Kelsi asked as we walked around, saying hi to others.
“Everybody?” I asked. “You mean prominent people?”
Kelsi shook her head. “No not all. I mean look ahead, 12’oclcovk” I stylishly glanced in that direction. I could see the alpha of 3 packs and Chase talking and laughing. Someone was missing.
“Everyone’s here except for you know who,” Kelsi said. I sighed and walked off to the drink table.
“Don’t you think it’s for the better?” I said. Kelsi slowly nodded. Jake would come here to stir trouble.
Just as we turned, Angus and Chase walked up to us.
“Hi Arya” he smiled and turned to Kelsi. “Hello baby, will you dance with me?”
Kelsi chuckled. “sure baby” Together, they walked away. I just stood sipping my drink and Chase stared fixatedly at me. I was confused. I thought we were now on good terms. Why was he looking at me like that? The last time I saw him strangle someone, this was the way his eyes were.
I stole a glance at him and gasped. He was staring at me. My heart rate increased and I began to sweat.
“Do you?” came his voice.
“Huh,” I slightly jumped.
“Do you want more wine?” Chase asked. His voice was smooth and velvety. It did wonders to me.
“Yes,” I replied immediately. He nodded. He turned around and a waiter appeared. Just as he handed the wine glass to me, Chase made me look into his eyes and then he let his eyes travel lazily over her body, at a slow pace. My face reddened and I felt flustered. He made me feel naked, even with all these layers of clothing on.
“You look good” he muttered. If not for how close we were, I couldn’t have heard him.
I nodded. “Thank-”
He leaned in. “I said you look beautiful” his voice raspy and low. My face was the exact color of a fire truck. He smirked watching me squirm under his gaze.
I opened to speak but whatever I would have said, was swallowed up by gasps from the entrance. I and Chase turned around and I almost spat out my drink.
Jake and Anastasia had crashed our party.
