My mind felt hazy, my thoughts slipping through my grasp. Before I knew it, my eyes fluttered shut, and my lips parted, granting Alexander deeper access. A small whimper escaped me as his grip on my waist tightened, pulling me flush against him. His other hand cupped my cheek, sending a shiver down my spine as my heart pounded wildly in my chest.
A heat pooled between my legs as I felt the unmistakable hardness of his bulge pressing against me. I knew people were watching- I could feel their shocked gazes burning into my back. I should have pulled away, should have been embarrassed. Hell, I was practically devouring my husband in front of an entire audience.
But my body refused to listen. Instead, it screamed- fuck it.
A breathy moan escaped me as my arms snaked around Alexander’s shoulders, pulling him closer. Tilting my head to the side, I deepened the kiss. I was this close- this damn close to jumping into his arms and wrapping my legs around his waist.
Could you blame me? The man was hot. One kiss from him could drive any woman or man insane.
I felt Alexander stiffen for the briefest moment in surprise as my hand slowly slid to the back of his head.
“Mmm…” I moaned softly.
A collective gasp echoed around us, but I barely registered it before Alexander moved, pulling me along without breaking contact. My body pressed against his as his back met the wall with a dull thud. His fingers tangled in my hair, tugging it back slightly, forcing me to tilt my head as his lips moved against mine with raw intensity.
Oh God, I wanted him so badly.
Alexander’s lips curved into a slight smirk, and I knew his eyes weren’t closed, they were fixed on someone. But who? I had no idea.
A shudder ran through me as his hand on my waist dipped lower, stopping just at my butt. But before he could go any further, a cold, chilling voice shattered the heated moment.
“I didn’t realize this was a honeymoon suite. Should I be honored that you feel so comfortable in my home?”
I froze, my eyes snapping open as my body instinctively stiffened in fear.
Alexander’s grip on my waist tightened, and he slowly pulled away, but his gaze wasn’t on me, it was locked onto the older man from earlier.
How did I know? I had no idea, yet somehow, I had already recognized his voice.
As I lifted my head, I saw it, a raw look of hatred in Alexander’s eyes.
And then, as if the emotion I had just seen was an illusion, it vanished in the blink of an eye, his lips slowly curved into a smile, a wicked smile that sent a shiver down my spine.
“Ah, good evening, Nico,” Alexander drawled smoothly, his voice laced with amusement. “I might have gotten a little carried away for a moment. My apologies for the rudeness.”
Yet despite his apology, I couldn’t ignore the mocking edge in his tone.
“AAlexander,” I breathed out, my hands pressing lightly against his chest, intending to put some space between us.
But he didn’t let go.
Nico scoffed. “Right, but don’t you think that’s a little too carried away? You do realize everyone’s staring at you, right?”
My eyes widened as the harsh realization hit me all at once.
Fuck! Emily, you must be crazy! How could you do something so shameless in front of all these people? This is beyond embarrassing, I wanted to crawl into a hole and disappear.
My face burned bright red, but Alexander, completely unfazed, merely glanced around before shrugging nonchalantly.
“They had the choice to look away, but they didn’t. How is that my fault? Or maybe…” He smirked, tilting his head. “They just enjoyed watching me kiss my wife. I really can’t say for sure.”
My jaw dropped. Huh?
This time, I placed my hands firmly on Alexander’s chest and pushed as hard as I could, finally breaking free from his grip. Despite telling myself not to turn around and just walk out, I foolishly did and instantly regretted it.
A wave of mortification crashed over me as I met the stunned and bewildered gazes of the people around me. It felt as though a bucket of ice water had been dumped over my head.
Damien and his family looked shocked, while Luca’s expression was filled with pure hatred and anger directed at Alexander.
Nico, on the other hand, remained expressionless, his gaze cold. But I could tell he was pissed, the way his jaw clenched was a dead giveaway.
“I see…” Nico hissed, taking a step closer.
Instinctively, I wanted to move back, sensing the wave of killing intent radiating from him. But before I could, Alexander had already stepped forward, effortlessly shifting me behind him. He towered over Nico, his hands casually dipped into his pockets, a lazy gesture, yet his aura completely overshadowed everyone in the room.
The air grew thick with tension, and I was certain everyone felt it because, aside from Luca, they all took a step back.
“You seem to be late, Alexander,” Nico said, “Where have you been?”
Alexander let out a low chuckle.
“Oh, you know… here and there. Had something important to take care of,” he said, his voice dripping with amusement. “Why? Did you miss me?”
Nico’s gaze darkened into a glare as Alexander leaned in, his voice laced with mock curiosity.
“Or did something happen? Something… that had to do with me?”
Nico’s hands clenched into fists at his sides, his entire body tensing.
“You bastard,” he hissed through gritted teeth. “How dare you touch my warehouse?”
I swallowed hard, sensing the weight of the tension between them. Alexander’s smirk faded, his expression turning cold as he leaned back with a scoff.
“How dare me?” he echoed, his tone almost amused. “I’m pretty sure that’s not something you have the right to say, Nico is nothing more than a drop in the ocean compared to what you’ve done.”
“You-”
Before Nico could spit out another word, Alexander held up a hand, cutting him off effortlessly. Then, with a deliberate slowness, he reached into his pocket and pulled out something, placing it firmly in Nico’s hand.
I rose onto my tiptoes, straining to get a better look, but all I could make out was something small and white like powder, wrapped in a clear bag. I frowned, confused. Whatever it was, it clearly meant something to Nico because the moment he saw it, his face twisted with rage, his eyes burning with barely contained fury.
“Congratulations on your daughter’s engagement,” Alexander said, his smirk returning with an edge of mockery. “It’s not much, but consider it a gift. Ah…” he tilted his head, eyes glinting, “though, it was yours a few hours ago, wasn’t it?”
Nico’s entire body went rigid.
“You bastard!!!” he roared.
I flinched, my heart pounding in my chest. Whatever Alexander had just done, it had hit Nico exactly where it hurt.
Alexander stepped away from Nico as if the man before him was nothing more than a speck of dust. Then, with a dismissive tone, he announced, “Anyway, I’ll be leaving now, I have some unfinished business with my wife.”
His gaze shifted to Luca, tilting his head slightly as he studied him before a smirking.
“Happy engagement. I’m sure you’ll have plenty of fun as Nico’s son-in-law.”
With that, he didn’t spare another glance at anyone else. Instead, he turned, grabbed my hand, and pulled me out of the mansion.
“A-Alexander,” I managed to call out, but my voice was carried away by the wind as he continued walking, showing no intention of stopping.
“Emily!! Oh my God, you’re okay!” I heard Daniel’s voice, and I looked up to find him standing there with Sebastian, Julian who was holding his bruised face and Adrian.
“Where have you been, Madam?” Sebastian asked worriedly, but my gaze was already narrowing in surprise at Julian.
“I-I’m fine, but what happened to your face?” I asked.
Julian merely shrugged nonchalantly with a smirk. “Kissed a woman and didn’t know she was married.”
That was all he said, and I didn’t ask any more questions.
“Car key,” Alexander demanded, and Adrian handed it to him without a word.
I couldn’t even react as Alexander began dragging me away. He stopped at his car, opened the door, and signaled for me to get in with a tilt of his head.
I licked my lips nervously, my eyes darting toward Daniel, who looked ready to rush over, only to be held back by Sebastian and Julian.
“Let me go! Alexander, where are you taking her?!” Daniel yelled, struggling against their grip.
“Don’t rush over. Uncle might smack you again if you do!” Julian warned.
“Master Julian is right, please don’t go,” Sebastian pleaded.
“Get in. I won’t repeat myself again,” Alexander’s cold voice cut through the air.
This time, I didn’t hesitate. I slipped inside, and the door shut behind me. My heart pounded as I watched Alexander walk to the driver’s seat, get in, and start the car. Without another word, he drove away.
Five minutes passed in agonizing silence as I sat beside Alexander, the tension in the car thick enough to suffocate me. Finally, mustering a bit of courage, I hesitantly asked,
“Hm, I’m sorry for asking, but… are we going home?”
Alexander didn’t respond. Instead, he pressed down on the accelerator, the car surging forward at an alarming speed. I gasped, my hands instinctively clutching the seatbelt.
“F-forget I asked,” I stammered, my voice trembling with fear.
But then without warning, Alexander slammed the brakes, bringing the car to a sudden halt. My heart pounded violently against my ribs as I looked around, realizing where we were. A secluded area. No other cars. No people.
It was completely deserted.
A sinking dread pooled in my stomach as a terrifying thought crossed my mind. Did Alexander bring me here to kill me?
Was this how I was going to die?
Fuck.
“Alexander, what are we doing here-”
“Shut up and get on my lap. Now.”
