“Y-you…” The woman was the first to react, her finger jabbing toward me as her eyes widened in shock. Everyone around us froze, staring at me as though I’d just sprouted another head. And I knew exactly why-this woman was easily twice my size, probably weighing around two hundred pounds, and yet, I’d shoved her without breaking a sweat.
Wow, I didn’t realize I was this strong. But then again, I couldn’t remember much of anything at all.
“How dare you! How dare you push me?! Who do you think you are?!” Her voice was a shrill screech as she jerked free from the man’s grip and stormed toward me, fury blazing in her eyes.
Shit, this wasn’t going to end well.
I didn’t know what came over me. One second, I was fine, and then, like a switch, my body acted before I had time to think. I rushed in, thinking I was some kind of hero, when in reality, I was nothing but a weakling-a very scared weakling.
I moved back with my hands in the air as the woman moved closer.
“Wait, stay where you are, and let’s talk about this calmly,” I stammered, trying to keep my voice steady while maintaining some distance between us. “There’s no need to get aggressive. I didn’t mean to push you, i-it was a mistake.”
I scrambled to find the right words, hoping to diffuse the tension. If this woman so much as slapped or punched me, I knew I was a goner. I had to end this peacefully.
“Calmly? You pushed me first, you fucking bitch!” The woman’s face was red, her words dripping with venom as she glared at me. “What made you think you could shove me, who even the hell are you?!”
“I I…”
Before I could speak, her son, the little brat beside her who had been busy staring daggers at the employee earlier suddenly cuts me off, his childish voice full of disdain. “How dare you shove my mother? You ugly swine!”
U-ugly swine? Me? It couldn’t be me, right? I wasn’t being called an ugly swine by a walking marshmallow with a face only a mother could love!
Before I knew it, my lips curled into a sneer and my earlier fear vanished almost instantly and I opened my mouth, about to retort back, ready to call the brat a doughnut on two legs. But, of course, I was interrupted once again, and this time, it was the big man by her side who had been silent through the entire mess.
He cleared his throat, drawing everyone’s attention to him, his eyes narrowing as he gave me a lustful look that made my skin crawl.
“Honey, enough with the drama,” he said, his eyes felt like they were undressing me. “You’ve been yelling and causing a scene for long enough. Everyone’s watching. Don’t take this to heart, and let’s be on our way. If they said the kid can not enter the ride then there is nothing that can be done” Despite the words, his lips curled into a smile as he stared directly at me a smile that made it clear he’d finally found something he was interested in.
“Y-yes, ma’am. Please, you’ve been causing a commotion. I’ve called security, and they’re on their way, so please leave,” the employee’s voice sounded behind me as he peeked from my shoulders at the furious woman.
Yet, I wasn’t relieved at all that this man had spoken up for me. Instead, I felt disgusted as he gazed at me, not even attempting to hide his intentions.
The woman seemed to notice this too because, in a flash, her face grew even redder with rage as she turned to look at the man before glaring at me.
Damnit, this was really going to end badly.
“No, I won’t accept this,” the woman snapped. “The stupid man over there not only had us waiting under the sun, refusing to let us enter, but then she came out of nowhere and pushed me, and now you want me to let it go? I won’t do it.” She shook her head before pausing, her eyes locking onto the bags I was holding, then narrowing on my clothes. Suddenly, her eyes brightened, as if an idea had struck her.
“This is clearly assault, right? and I’m not leaving without compensation.” She folded her arms, her hateful stare boring into me, and I instantly knew what she was implying.
She wanted money from me! From a broke girl like me. I almost scoffed at her words. I didn’t have any money-it was Felix that… wait, Felix!
I gasped and turned in panic, only to realize Felix had been sitting beside me the entire time. He had somehow gotten a chair during all this mess and had sat down with his arms folded as he watched the scene unfold without a word.
I raised a brow and tilted my head to the side, bemused. This was… unexpected.
“You seem rich, don’t you? Those clothes look like they cost millions. You should pay me compensation for shoving me,” the woman sneered, her lips curling into a smug smile.
The man beside her didn’t utter a word, his eyes narrowing as he inspected my outfit, likely trying to assess if what she said was true.
I rolled my eyes at her words and placed my hands on my hips.
“Compensation? It was just a little shove. But if what you want is compensation, then you should compensate the employee because I clearly saw you shove him too-and you also attempted to hit him. Everyone here saw it.”
“Yes, yes, we did. We saw you raise your hand at him,” someone from the crowd chimed in, and almost instantly, the murmurs of agreement spread, with people nodding their heads.
“W-what do you mean I attempted to hit him? I never did that! Don’t lie!” she yelled, her chest heaving with every breath.
I scoffed. Did she think I was blind? Or perhaps she believed everyone else who had witnessed her actions were blind?
The man beside her watched me for a moment before grabbing the angry woman’s arm. “Let’s go. Forget about this. I won’t repeat myself again,” he hissed, gripping her hand tightly-so tightly that I could have sworn it would leave a bruise.
The woman froze, her angry expression replaced with fear as she looked up at the man.
I raised a brow at the shift in her demeanor and the man’s grip on her, but before I could dwell on it, the child’s voice cut through the tension. Oblivious to everything, he angrily pointed a finger at me.
“You bitch! Apologize to my mother right now and compensate her, or I’ll call the police to have you arrested. We won’t let you off easily and you will rot in jail!” the boy yelled, his face turning red as he stomped toward me, finger pointing accusingly.
This was getting more ridiculous by the second. I sighed, ready to ignore the walking chipmunk entirely, but before anyone could react, something completely unexpected happened-something that froze everyone in their tracks.
Felix, who had been sitting quietly and patiently this entire time, suddenly stood up from his seat. Without a word, he walked over to the child who had been yelling at me.
The boy froze mid-step, tilting his head in confusion as his gaze landed on Felix. But within seconds, his confusion shifted to utter shock, his eyes widening as though he couldn’t believe what had just happened.
Standing on his tiptoes, Felix had raised a small hand and delivered a sharp, resounding slap across the boy’s face, stunning everyone.
