Grand finale.
Eve.
Two years later.
A double life sentence with no parole for the murder of nineteen year old fudger, attempted murder on Jason and I. Plus twenty years blackmail for Sophie and Mark and perjury.
That was Alice’s sentence.
The news broke out a few months after Jason and I got married and I couldn’t help but feel bad for her.
But she brought it upon herself.
I even heard that she has become insane and was transferred to a special mental facility where she was under surveillance twenty four seven and now she’s like a soulless body only living for the drugs injected in her body.
I guess that’s why they say – Do things that make you happy within the confines of the law.
Mark, on the other hand, died. Apparently, he was a drug addict and the drugs were already affecting his immune system and since he couldn’t no longer take them in prison, his health deteriorated and he ended up kicking the bucket.
I sighed heavily as I was lost in thought until I heard my name being called, well, not my name technically.
“Mama!” I heard Declan yell loudly and I was jolted from my thoughts.
“Is mama missing dada? (Is mommy missing daddy?) ” Damian asked with a pout on his face and I couldn’t help but think that he looked like a pufferfish with his pout.
Their words were limited and it sounded funny most of the time but I could understand what they were saying.
“Mama is hungwi. (Mommy is hungry).” Declan argued and I smiled.
They were both in the bathtub and I was bathing for them since they decided to have a food fight earlier.
Max and Ethan are trying to adopt a baby girl and so Max insisted on learning how to take care of kids but using the twins as example but he always ends up leaving them to do whatever they want while he takes pictures and uploads them on his Instagram.
Earlier, he was supposed to be watching them while they learned how to eat with small spoons but they ended up having a food fight.
Declan and Damian are fast learners and they are already doing things that even three year olds and four year olds can barely do. It’s impressive really. Sometimes, I can’t believe that they’re my own kids.
Mom says I should start a blog or something to show the world how impressive they are while Grandma Nini insists that we send them to a school for special and smart children. I think they’re both overreacting.
“I’m home.” I heard Jason’s voice and I turned to face him watching him walk into the bathroom.
“Dada!!” The twins squealed happily once they saw him and he carried them from the bathtub not caring that his shirt got wet.
“Sorry for coming back late babe, we had a shareholders meeting that lasted a while.” Jason said as I followed him out of the bathroom.
“What’s a chair wolder?( What’s a shareholder?)” Declan asked curiously.
“Sum thing that wolds a chair.( Something that holds a chair)” Damian answered before Jason could say anything, making me laugh hard.
“Oh my babies.” I thought as I watched Jason handle the kids.
He laid them on the bed while I brought out clothes that they could change into.
Soon, they were dressed up and Jason went to take his bath as well.
“Did you disturb mama today?” Jason asked once he was back to the room.
“No.” Damian shook his head but Declan nodded instead.
These twins never agree on anything. Haha.
“Have you had dinner yet?” I asked Jason and he nodded.
“I ate with Jade.” Jason said and I smiled.
“Only jade?” I asked and he nodded.
“They fought again, didn’t they?” I asked and he chuckled.
“They always fight.” Jason said, shaking his head and I couldn’t agree. It’s only surprising that despite their fights, they’re still together.
I left the room and brought dessert for them while Jason played with the twins for a while.
After some hours passed, Jason put them to bed in their own room and came to meet me in ours.
“Baby, I missed you.” Jason said as he snuggled closer to me where I laid on the bed.
“Max and Ethan are in the guest room you know.” I said and Jason snorted.
“Like they don’t have sex in there.” Jason said and I chuckled.
“I’m tired, we can do it tomorrow.” I said and he huffed.
“I’m tired too but I’m not putting it off until tomorrow.” Jason insisted and I laughed.
“I’m really really tired and we had sex yesterday you know.” I said, reminding him of our hot night the night before.
“That was yesterday.” Jason said and I rolled my eyes.
“Except you want us to have another baby before the twins are four years old, no!” I said sternly and he pouted.
“You keep insisting on going raw knowing that I’ll have to use contraceptive pills afterwards, isn’t that unfair for me?” I asked and he nodded grudgingly.
“So let’s take a rest for today.” I said and he grumbled.
“But I can still cuddle right?” He asked and I smiled before nodding.
“Of Course you can still cuddle.” I said and he snuggled closer to me.
“I’m glad I met you.” He mumbled quietly and I hummed in response.
“I’m glad you met me too.” I teased and I heard him chuckling.
“I love you.” I said quietly.
“I love you more.” He replied.
“Like I always say, that’s up for debate.” I said smiling.
And soon, silence filled the room and we slept in each other’s embrace.
We might have started off on the wrong foot, we might have gone through scary shits but one thing is for sure, those things are what made us who we are today.
I can’t guarantee a happy ever after because at some point in time we’ll fight and argue but one thing I can guarantee is that even after those fights and arguments, we’ll find our way back to each other because that’s where we belong.
In each other’s embrace.
THE END.
