The moment everyone retired to their rooms and their homes, I knew this was my moment to strike.

I was confused now.

“What did you want to make?” I asked.
“I’ll decide tomorrow.” She said and that’s when I knew.
Eve wasn’t planning on giving me something delicious like I thought. She wanted to make something delicious for me, like literally.
“Okay, sleep tight.” I said and she hummed.
I could hear soft snores coming from her like a few minutes later which means that she was already fast asleep.

“I guess.” Eve said confused mom’s question.
“Let’s go and eat.” Grandma Nini who came out of the kitchen said.
“Are you sure they’ll still be hungry?” Mom said as we went to the dinning.

“I don’t think your preference is here.” Mom said and I laughed again.
“What do you want to eat, Eve?” I asked.

“I’m just kidding.” Mom said immediately seeing as Eve was already tearing up.
“You are?” Eve asked and mom nodded.
Her teasing just backfired.

“What do you want to eat?” Mom asked.
“Marinated crabs.” Eve said.
“Okay, Jason will get it for you.” Mom said and I looked at her with widened eyes.
“I will?” I asked with wide eyes.
“You will, won’t you?” She smirked and I looked at Eve who looked at me expectantly.
“I will.” I said with a fake smile and Eve clapped her hands in delight.
I got up from where I sat and went out to get marinated crabs for Eve.
I drove straight to the farmer’s market because I had no idea if I could find it at a convenience store.
And once I got there and took a look around and asked a few people, I was directed to where I could get a few.
By the time I walked back to my car, I met an unexpected person standing right by my car.
“What are you doing here?” I asked with a look of disgust on my face.

“You used to be happy to see me.” She said and I rolled my eyes.
“Well, not today.” I snapped.
“Oh, someone’s cranky.” She joked and I scoffed.
“Say what you have to say and leave or just leave.” I said and she chuckled in response.
“What are you doing here?” I asked in a slightly raised voice so I wouldn’t draw attention to us.
“What could I possibly be doing in a market place?” She asked like I just asked her the dumbest question ever.
“If you’re here to buy stuff, then you best be on your way.” I said angrily and she smiled.
“Oh, I’ll leave.”
“Today’s not the day to fight.” She said as she moved away from my car and walked away.
I sighed in relief as I got into my car.
Seeing her gave me this strange feeling and I didn’t like it.

Just why did I have to see her here anyway?

I thought as I ignited the engine and started the car.
Because of my short encounter with Alice, Eve will be having a late breakfast. Ugh!
