Eve..
I never knew waking up by the side of someone you love had a different feeling to it.
It felt so wonderful and made me squeal internally. He felt so warm beside me, it almost made me explode with happiness.
I was staring intently at Jason who was still fast asleep and snuggling closer to me.
He looked so peaceful and so content and I felt that way too.
Yesterday night, the second surprise was that Grandma Nini and Mia moved all my stuff to Jason’s room and even renovated the entire room without Jason’s knowledge.
So the once dark interior was now white and gold and the bed was a bit larger to contain more than two people. You know the family sized bed.
“Take a picture, it will last longer.” I heard Jason mumble and his morning voice sounded so alluring I almost cooed.
“M-morning.” I stuttered as I looked away blushing.
“Morning, Eve..”
“Gosh, I wanna wake up like this everyday.” Jason said, pecking my cheeks which made me blush even more.
“I’ll take a bath first.” I said getting up immediately and running to the bathroom in embarrassment.
I looked at myself in the mirror and giggled.
I sighed heavily with a wide smile on my face.
“I feel content.” I mumbled quietly.
I took a look at everything in the bathroom, everything was in pairs, a couple brushes, a couple cups, even a couple sponge?
I turned on the tap and poured body wash into the bathtub making it foam and form bubbles.
I removed my clothes, got into the bathtub and relaxed as I washed myself clean.
I came out of the bathtub and that’s when it dawned on me that there was nothing to dry myself with.
Good God!
I walked towards the door of the bathroom and stood there contemplating on what to do.
“Uhmm Jason..” I called loudly.
“Yeah?” He answered.
“Can you grab my towel for me?” I asked quietly.
“What did you say?” He asked, not hearing me.
“My towel, it’s on the bed.” I said loud enough for him to hear this time.
“Oh…” Was all he said and I heard a knock on the door.
I opened the door a little and stretched out my hands to grab the towel but it fell to the floor instead.
“No!” I said immediately stopping him from doing whatever he wanted to do.
“No?” He said confused.
“I’ll get it.” I said feeling embarrassed.
“Okay.” He said and I heard his retracting footsteps which I guessed was him walking back to the bed.
I put out my legs and dragged the towel on the floor with my feet.
Once it was inside the bathroom, I closed the door and picked it up.
I tied it around my body and came out only to find Jason laughing.
“What’s funny?” I asked, still feeling embarrassed.
“Nothing.” He said, grabbing his towel and going to the bathroom.
“You can change.” He said as he entered the bathroom.
“Was he laughing at me?” I thought and I shrugged it off.
I quickly put on my clothes and ran out of the house before something awkward happened again. I mean we’ve seen each other’s body but he wasn’t sober so It’s more like we haven’t seen each other’s body.
Not that I want us to see each other’s body or..
What are you thinking Eve!
I mentally scolded myself.
I got to the kitchen and met Mom there telling the cook what to make.
“Good morning.” I said to her and she smiled at me, greeting back.
I greeted the cook also but I wasn’t sure I had seen her before because she didn’t look familiar at all. She greeted me back but she had a cold look on her face which made me shudder or maybe I’m just overthinking it.
“What would you like to eat?” Mom asked me.
“Anything.” I said quietly, still staring at the unknown cook.
“This is Sophie, the new cook.” Mom noticed the look on my face.
“The new cook?” I was confused.
“Yeah, the other one quit.” Mom shrugged like it was nothing.
I nodded my head as I followed her to the living room.
“So how was your night with Jason?” She asked once it was just the two of us.
“Great.” I said, hiding my blush.
“Just great?, Now that you both are officially together, I hope it’s fine to say that I want grandkids.” She teased me and I smiled.
Kids with Jason.. How lovely would that be?
“Ma’am, should I add fish sauce?” The cook asked, interrupting our small talk.
“No, Eve’s allergic to fish.” Mom said getting up from the couch where she sat and following the cook to the kitchen. The cook turned to look at me, glared at me and followed mom to the kitchen.
What just happened?
What’s her deal?
I rolled my eyes as I faced the television and continued watching whatever they were showing on it.
Soon, breakfast was served and we all sat down at the dinning to eat.
“I might be late tonight.” Jason stated as he ate his food.
“I’m going to Ethan’s Cafe.” I said to him,
“You still want to go there?” Jason asked which made me raise my brows.
“I don’t understand…” I was confused by his question.
“I mean do you have to go there?” Jason rephrased his statement.
“Yeah, I work there.” I said as a matter of fact.
“You work there?” It was Grandma Nini’s turn to be amused.
“Yes.” I said dropping my cutlery to look at all their faces.
Grandma Nini seemed amused, Jason seemed confused and mom seemed like she was okay with it.
“I thought it was because you were avoiding me..” Jason said quietly.
“No, I like baking.” I said getting upset.
“I know..” Jason’s voice trailed off.
“Then it’s decided, Jason will open your own bakery for you.” Grandma Nini said, making me frown.
“That’s not it.” I said a little louder than intended.
“Eve..” Jason called but I didn’t feel like eating anymore.
“I’ve lost my appetite.” I said getting up from my chair and thanking them for the food before going back to our room.
“Did I say something wrong?” I heard grandma Nini ask mom who simply shrugged and continued eating her food.
Why is it so hard to be married to a wealthy person?
