Jason..
We sat in the dim room face to face and a staring competition was ongoing.
Nobody wanted to lose. I was staring at him sternly to see if he would falter but he just had a crazy look in his eyes. One I had never seen before.
“Why did you do it?” I asked, breaking eye contact as I looked away.
“Who put you up to it?” I asked again, slamming my hands on the table that demarcated us.
He snickered, making me even angrier.
“You should focus more on the what than the why or the who.” He said after a short pause.
“What do you mean by that?” I asked, confused.
“You’re too focused on why I did it or who made me do it, you’re forgetting to ask the most crucial question.” He said and paused, giving me suspense.
“What did you do to deserve this?” He said laughing.
“Clinton.” I called his name, making him stop laughing.
“What happened to you?”
“You weren’t like this before.” I said, concerned and confused at the same time.
“I was always like this, crooked on the edges and barely hanging on.” He said quietly now.
“You know, you can’t ever know people and who they truly are.” He said, making me think for a while before he started laughing again.
“Clinton, this is not you.” I said quietly drawing his attention.
“Who am I then?” He asked, making me confused.
“Who am I, Jason?”
“You made me this way.”
“Your crooked way of thinking that you’re superior to everyone else made me this way.” He yelled loudly.
“What did I do?” I asked.
“What did you do?” He laughed like a maniac.
“Drive..”
“Shutup!”
“Keep quiet!”
“Don’t interrupt!”
“Move!”
“Out of my way!”
He kept blabbing words that I had said to him before rudely.
“You think I’m a robot?” He yelled.
“Is that why you tried to run my company under?”
“Because I treated you badly?” I asked.
“So you know you treated me badly?” He asked, laughing.
“That’s what you’re saying.” I said, maintaining a plain look on my face.
“You treat everyone like you’re better than them, like they’re under you, even your wife.” He said.
“Don’t talk about my wife.” I warned.
“Why?”
“Will I pay a fine?”
“Does that mean I’m breaking the contract and I’ll pay a penalty fee?” He smirked, making me angry and breaking my cool.
“Don’t. Say. Anything. About. My. Wife.” I said sternly in a monotone voice making him shut up but there was still a sick smile on my face.
“You had no reason to do what you did, posting all those things and trying to scam me with that Mr Seo.” I said sternly.
“You didn’t do it because of how I treated you but because you’re a greedy piece of shit.” I said angrily.
“That’s not true!” He shouted.
“It’s not true?” I asked with raised brows.
“If it’s not true, then you weren’t going to get a share when I paid Mr Seo?” I asked and he couldn’t say anything.
“Thought so.” I said getting up from my seat.
“Everybody will leave you with that attitude of yours.” He yelled as he tried to get up but his hands were chained to the table so he couldn’t stand up properly.
“If you don’t treat them right, they’ll leave you just like I did.” He said, making me face him.
“You didn’t leave me.” I said coldly.
“I let you go.” I said turning and walking out of the room only to open the door and it slammed on jade’s forehead since he was trying to peek in.
“Ouch!” He winced, holding his forehead as he danced around.
“Sorry.” I said walking away and he followed behind me.
“It’s fine.” He said as he followed me with a smile despite the pain in his head.
What an unusual person!
“Mr Coleman.” I heard the detective from before call my name.
“Yeah?” I said as I stopped in my tracks.
“Can I talk to you for a short while?” She asked and I nodded as she led me to another room which I assumed was her office.
Do regular police officers have their own office?
I couldn’t help but wonder.
“It’s my office, I’m a bit high in rank.” She said, noticing how I was looking around.
“Okay.” I nodded as I sat down on the chair she pointed out for me.
“Mr Clinton.” She began.
“He had access to all your files right?” She asked and I nodded.
“He was my driver and my personal secretary so he had access to them.” I said, noticing that she was still staring at me.
“Which means he would have your stamp too..” she said, making me look at her weirdly.
“My stamp?” I asked, confused.
“We saw this in the CCTV footage, it appears that after putting your stamp to use on the fake contract with Mr Seo, he also used it on another contract but we can’t tell which one. I don’t want to pry which is why I decided to ask you first if you would recognize the case which it’s in.” She said turning her laptop to face me so I can watch the footage.
There Clinton was indeed bringing out a file from a blue case.
Blue case?
That’s where I kept the divorce agreement contract between me and Eve.
Oh no!
Everyone will leave you just like I left you.
Is that what he meant by it?
I kept watching the video and I noticed he didn’t put it back into the case.
Which means that he might have sent it to Eve.
“Why is it interfering in my married life?” I groaned.
The short clip ended and I looked at the detective in front of me.
“From your expression, I’m guessing you know what’s in that case file?” She asked and I nodded.
“Can I ask what it is?” She asked and I shook my head.
“I don’t know what the crime is called but you need to add it to his charges. I said with gritted teeth.
My marriage is about to fall apart even before it starts.
