The video ended there.
The proof was sufficient.
The fact that Callie was Maevelyn was now indisputable.
She presented the evidence to everyone, revealing her grievances and determination.
Sienna’s mind was flooded with thoughts, leaving her dazed. Nelson helped her to a seat and then stepped into the public eye, announcing that he had not disappeared.
Holly watched as the man walked steadily towards her. She felt no excitement, only fear.
Nelson, tall and slender, slowly crouched down. Holly couldn’t read his expression, finding it obscure and unreadable.
“I only have one question: where is Callie?”
Holding back until now had been his limit. Everything today was for this answer.
Holly looked at him and suddenly understood. He had known all along; he allowed everything to happen. Otherwise, these people wouldn’t have appeared so smoothly.
She laughed maniacally, almost out of breath. “You want to see Callie? I’ll tell you! Dream on!”
Nelson suddenly reached out and gripped her neck with force.
“Don’t blame me for not warning you. When I torture someone, I can make them wish for death over life!”
Holly was forced to lift her head, her breath stolen, her lungs aching. She gritted her teeth and said, “I won’t naively think you’ll let me live. I want Callie to die with me! By now, it should be almost time!”
This statement made Nelson tighten his grip, his fingers pressing hard as if holding a small chicken. He turned his head. “Kieran!”
He didn’t want to admit it, but his heart trembled at the threat.
Kieran rushed over. “The Ellison family is too large; we’re still searching, but we’ve almost covered it!”
Nelson threw Holly to the ground, the sound of flesh hitting the floor making him frown in disgust. “You better pray you don’t die too quickly. Pray you still have the strength to argue with me!”
No longer playing any part of the charade from hours before, he now felt only disgust for her.
Holly lay on the ground, numbly staring at the surreal surroundings.
“Nelson, you can’t treat me like this. I am your wife…”
Nelson stepped over her and walked straight ahead.
“Nelson!” she shouted. “I just want to know when you found out!”
The same question made Nelson’s head ache, endless regret sweeping over him. He could have known sooner…
He stopped, his back to Holly. “Maybe when I first saw Callie in a white dress.”
This was the truth. The first time he saw Callie in white, he began to suspect. She looked too much like the person in his memory, a resemblance that couldn’t be faked by anyone else.
Later, he encountered more and more clues. Before the bomb exploded, Callie even said: choose white.
Holly heard this answer and felt a mix of jealousy and hatred. She laughed a few more times.
“How sincere… But Nelson, since you suspected early on, why did you let things develop to this point? For Callie, you…”
Before she could finish, Nelson turned again and stepped harshly on her hand. “Because she wanted it today.”
Callie wanted everyone to know the truth on such an important day.
So he let her do it and even helped her along.
