He spoke, “I’m sorry, but due to my personal connections, I have to testify against you. Over the past year, I did perform plastic surgery for you.”
Charlotte stared in shock at everything unfolding. When Jaquan had contacted the doctor for her, he had assured her it would be very confidential and no one would find out. But now, not only had it been discovered, but she was also being directly accused!
“Dr. Ridge, how could you do this! You can’t make money by going against your conscience…” She struggled desperately.
Tobias calmly shielded the doctor behind him before saying, “I’m sorry to disappoint you, Holly. I once studied in Japan and had a close relationship with your plastic surgeon.”
Charlotte breathed heavily, feeling like she was about to suffocate. “So what does this prove?”
“At the very least,” Tobias said as he took the envelope handed to him by Dr. Ridge. The contents of this envelope were something he had insisted on revealing only at the scene. As he opened it, he continued, “It proves that you have been deliberately imitating someone else.”
Tobias walked towards Joaquin, took out a photo, and his steps almost halted for a moment. In a few seconds, he forced himself to calm down and placed the photo under the projector for everyone to see.
“This person… is Callie!” Tobias’s voice trembled.
It was an uncontrollable realization of the truth.
Everyone saw that the screen displayed a comparison photo of Callie and Charlotte. They looked so similar!
It turned out it wasn’t a coincidence.
Tobias then took out a USB drive from the envelope and inserted it. A surveillance video appeared, showing Charlotte handing a photo of Callie to the doctor, saying, “I want my chin to look more like hers.”
The crowd erupted in shock, and Charlotte took a step back in disbelief. She tripped over her dress and fell to the ground, too weak to get up.
So Charlotte had been imitating Callie all along… But why… Could it be…
The truth was already emerging!
Charlotte struggled like a dying fish, “I told you, it’s all photoshopped. Not just the photos, but the videos can be edited too.”
Stubbornly refusing to admit the truth.
Jamir in the audience couldn’t bear to watch this farce any longer. He knew that under these circumstances, Charlotte would never reveal Callie’s whereabouts. He threw the box into the trash can and walked away-
“Holly.” A plain female voice suddenly appeared.
Charlotte looked towards the source of the voice and saw her once best friend. She gasped in shock. How could even she…
Karlee slowly walked out from backstage, clearly nervous and trying to control her anxiety.
“At this point, are you still going to deceive everyone?”
She stood in front of Charlotte, who looked up at her with intense hatred. “You shouldn’t have…”
“Yes, I shouldn’t have. After all, we were once so close.”
Karlee said bitterly, “I still remember when we were in high school and had no money. We relied on aid money to maintain our livelihood and were always hungry, but we always helped each other out. For three years, through thick and thin, we were always the best of friends.”
Those were hard times filled with genuine friendship, but Karlee never expected that after going to college, Holly would cut off all contact with her!
“Then why are you…” Charlotte glared at her.
“In college, I tried many times to contact you but never succeeded. I preferred to believe that something had happened to you rather than believe you had abandoned me as a friend.”
