Chapter 1258: This is a Setup! This is a Trap!

Book:Surprised With Her Real Identities Published:2025-3-31

Anyone could tell that Lucille was threatening the Hipps Family, threatening Sylvia!
Franklin’s cold gaze fell on Lucille, and his deep voice followed, “My child will naturally be cared for with double attention, not allowing any ill-intentioned person to take advantage. So… do you have anything else to say?”
He exuded a chilling pressure, as if warning Lucille that if she dared to act recklessly, he would not let her off easily!
Lucille smirked and raised an eyebrow, “It’s rare to see you like this. You must really love children, huh? Don’t mind me saying, you should hurry and have one yourself. After all, someone else’s child is still someone else’s.”
Her words were so nauseating to hear.
Lucille paused and added, “Hard to raise.”
Sylvia felt sick at heart, thinking that Lucille was truly infuriating.
“This is a matter between my husband and me; you don’t need to worry about it. After all… my mother-in-law seems to have passed away many years ago. If she had said these things, I might have taken them to heart. But I understand, Lucille, you’re just kindly reminding me, right?”
“Oh yes… you reminded me, Franklin, your mother’s anniversary is coming up soon, isn’t it? Shall I accompany you this year?” Lucille laughed more joyfully, “Speaking of which, when I was younger, I had a pretty good relationship with her. After all, she and I were sisters-in-law. Calling me Lucille sounds so distant; you should call me aunt instead. After all… I’m your uncle’s wife.”
It seemed like she wouldn’t be satisfied until she provoked Sylvia and Franklin.
She was clearly here to disrupt things and make the Hipps Family unhappy.
As long as the Hipps Family was unhappy, she was happy.
Franklin looked expressionlessly at Lucille’s provocative demeanor; this woman held great power and was extremely arrogant.
Now she even dared to use his mother to provoke him.
After a while, he spoke calmly, his voice carrying an icy edge, “Lucille, my cousin Marco has taken the Hogan name. Do you think you still have any connection with the Maskelyne family? It’s only because of Father… that’s all.”
“Oh, how boring. Are young people nowadays unable to take a joke?” Lucille shrugged indifferently, “I can’t even catch up with Franklin. No matter what, we’re still relatives. Never mind… I came here today to see the child.”
With that, she waved her hand, and Sabrina immediately stepped forward to hand a gift box to Alex. “This is for you.”
Although Alex was young, he could sense that the atmosphere in the hall had become strange due to the arrival of the woman in red.
Seeing her give him a gift now made him unsure whether to accept it or not, so he looked to Sylvia for help.
Sylvia nodded at him, “Since it’s for you, go ahead and take it.”
Only then did Alex say to Lucille, “Thank you.”
“Oh, quite polite.” Lucille glanced down at Alex, “Seems well-raised.”
Marco followed behind Lucille, staring blankly at Sylvia. He hadn’t expected to see the fairy here after their brief encounter at the hospital.
So her name is Sylvia!
Why does it sound somewhat familiar?
He was lost in his imagination and hadn’t paid attention to what Lucille and Sylvia were saying.
His mind was filled with thoughts of how beautiful the fairy was and wondering why there was a child with her.
What was the relationship between the fairy and Franklin? Sylvia… Sylvia! Damn! He remembered; wasn’t she Franklin’s wife?
Marco finally realized belatedly.
He looked angrily at Franklin’s handsome face; Franklin had married the goddess in his heart-how infuriating!
He was lost in thought and didn’t notice that Lucille was preparing to move to the buffet area; he stood there foolishly staring at Sylvia’s perfect face.
“Marco, what are you doing?” Sabrina took a few steps and noticed Marco hadn’t followed; she turned back to see Marco lost in thought.
Feeling somewhat annoyed, she walked over in high heels and grabbed Marco’s arm. “Brother, why are you daydreaming?”
Marco snapped out of it and looked at Sabrina with realization. “Why are you pulling me?”
After shaking off Sabrina’s grip, he approached Sylvia. “Miss Andrews, hello, I’m Marco Hogan. We met briefly at the hospital a few days ago.”
He tried to appear very gentlemanly and deliberately acted courteous.
Sylvia raised her delicate brows slightly and gave him a calm glance with her watery eyes. “Oh, really? I don’t recall meeting Mr. Hogan.”
Marco immediately smiled ingratiatingly, “I was asleep at the time, so you might not have noticed me.”
“I see.” Sylvia didn’t want to continue chatting with him because she found Marco very boring, especially his blatant gaze made her uncomfortable.
Franklin had been mingling with other guests when he casually glanced back and saw Marco’s unabashedly lustful gaze; he immediately excused himself from the guests and strode over to Sylvia.
The man possessively pulled Sylvia into his arms and then cast a warning glance at Marco. “Mr. Hogan, I heard Lucille has been arranging numerous matches with noble ladies for you lately. Have any caught your fancy?”
Marco felt a headache at the mention of matchmaking; those noble ladies were either too pretentious or spoke too softly or were plain-looking-none of them were his type.
Why did Franklin bring up a topic he didn’t want to discuss? So annoying!
He looked at Franklin resentfully. “Don’t mention it; if they were as beautiful as Miss Andrews, I’d marry them in an instant.”
Franklin’s gaze grew colder. “Then Mr. Hogan might never fulfill that wish in this lifetime. Sylvia and I share deep love as husband and wife; no one can break us apart.”
“Is that so?” Marco laughed slyly; he thought he could get any woman he wanted. Just one Sylvia-he didn’t believe he couldn’t have her.
Even if it meant spending just one night with Sylvia.
His mother was Lucille! He resolved to have Sylvia no matter what.
Such a stunning woman who had even cured the president-she was the perfect choice for a wealthy family’s daughter-in-law.
The Hogan family was also a prominent family; besides, he heard the president didn’t like her. Why did she insist on being part of the Maskelyne family? Wouldn’t being part of the Hogan family be better?
The more he thought about it, the more he felt that marrying Sylvia would make him a winner in life.
Franklin ignored Marco further; if Marco dared take any inappropriate action, Franklin wouldn’t hesitate to destroy him.
Lucille didn’t concern him either!
Franklin thought silently.
After eating some pastries and drinking some soup, Alex felt sleepy.
Sylvia took him upstairs to rest in the lounge room after informing Queena and carried the child upstairs.
Marco stood in the corner watching Sylvia’s figure ascend the stairs from afar until her water-blue silhouette disappeared around the stairway corner.
He couldn’t help but sigh inwardly at how beautiful she was!
“What are you looking at?” Sabrina stood behind him with a champagne glass in hand, her tone carrying a hint of displeasure. “Marco, I’m telling you; you’d better not cause trouble for Mother.”
Today she wore a champagne-colored dress; under her mother’s glamorous aura she felt like an ugly duckling compared to Sylvia who was even more elegant and charming.
Despite being so young she could rival her mother’s presence-a rarity among women-how infuriating!
“Nothing,” Marco replied impatiently withdrawing his gaze thinking Sabrina was young yet nagging like an old woman. “Aren’t you into Jonathan that esports guy? What? Still haven’t won him over?”
Sabrina rolled her eyes. “Mind your own business.”
With that she turned away heading off to join other young ladies for fun.
Marco snorted coldly sitting in the corner while several rich boys gathered wanting chat but he showed little interest.
His heart was stirred by Sylvia’s beautiful image making him itch with desire.
He kept wanting go upstairs find her.
But how could he go up there under everyone’s watchful eyes?
It seemed there might be another staircase near restroom leading upstairs?
He’d only attended Hipps Family banquets few times so wasn’t familiar with place-better check!
With this thought he got up when one rich boy called out: “Hey Mr Hogan why stop chatting?”
“Oh I’m going restroom,” Marco replied absentmindedly heading towards restroom direction.
He reached restroom without obstruction-God helps those who help themselves! There really was staircase here!
He discreetly checked surroundings seeing no one nearby then quickly dashed up stairs.
Sylvia seemed be on second floor?
Second floor seemed have lounge rooms?
He mentally calculated then began searching room by room.
Finally he heard woman’s voice coming from one room-a gentle voice singing lullabies soothing child-perfect!
Found it!
He secretly rejoiced immediately rushing towards room.
Bang! The door swung open forcefully as Marco barged inside.
Ah! A scream pierced air drawing attention from guests downstairs.
Marco stared shocked at scene inside room unable believe what he saw feeling embarrassed looking at woman inside room face flushed red.
Sorry sorry I didn’t mean it!
Help there’s pervert here! Shameless! The woman shouted while adjusting clothes holding child tightly screaming aloud attracting downstairs guests’ attention who exchanged puzzled glances unsure what happened upstairs.
What’s wrong? Let’s go check!
Damn my wife’s upstairs!
She said earlier she felt tired took child went upstairs found lounge room rest!
Could something have happened?
Everyone let’s head upstairs!
Thus crowd began rushing upstairs together.
Clare exchanged glance with Franklin leading guests upstairs too.
Lucille scanned room failing spot son’s figure feeling heart sink uncontrollably-damn!
