I felt completely under Kael’s control, like a dessert placed before him, ready to be devoured at his whim. I had no strength to resist him.
My body was entirely powerless, consumed by desire, yearning for Kael to go even deeper into me. On the bed, he was relentless and savage. The heat of him inside me made me feel as though I was melting.
As Kael thrust into me, all I could do was moan. One wave of pleasure followed another, leaving me clinging to him, my nails scraping across his skin.
“Seraphina, can you scream louder for me? That would excite me even more,” Kael rasped, his voice low and hoarse. His hand gripped my chest as his lips left trails of kisses on my cheeks.
Hearing his shameless words, I started to resist.
“I don’t want to.”
“Be a good girl. I want to hear you,” Kael whispered, biting my earlobe.
That spot had always been my weakness. The moment he touched it, a shiver ran through my body. The overwhelming sensation left me dizzy and dazed, and I couldn’t hold back a whimper.
Kael chuckled when he heard me. He wrapped his arms around me, pulling me onto his lap.
“Good girl, move on your own.”
I looked down at him, feeling a completely different kind of intimacy when I took the lead…
By the time the night was over, I was utterly exhausted and had fallen into a deep sleep.
When I woke up the next morning, Kael was no longer by my side. My body felt stiff, and the marks he left on me were all too visible.
I sighed, recalling the madness of the previous night. It felt as though every time we were together, we loved each other as if it were the end of the world.
Evelyn’s voice broke through my thoughts from outside my door.
“Seraph, are you okay? Why haven’t you gotten up yet? It’s so late,” Evelyn said. “It’s already eleven. Aren’t you going to have lunch? Judy and I are heading to the restaurant downstairs. Do you want to join us?”
I quickly replied, “No, you two go ahead. Don’t worry about me.”
I realized I desperately needed a shower. If Evelyn or Judy saw me like this, it would be disastrous.
“I’m sorry, Seraph,” Evelyn said from the doorway. “I didn’t mean to leave you alone last night. I just assumed you’d be with Kael, but then I didn’t see you. Are you upset with me?”
I thought back to last night when Evelyn had also asked this question at my door.
“I’m not upset, Evelyn. Don’t worry. I was just really tired.” I wished they would leave quickly so I could slip into the bathroom unnoticed.
In my current state, Evelyn would definitely notice something unusual about me.
“Alright, get some rest. Judy and I will eat first, and we can go shopping this afternoon, okay?”
“Of course.”
As soon as they left, I rushed to take a shower. Afterward, as I dried my hair with the blow dryer, I began to feel more awake.
I still hadn’t had the chance to ask Kael about what he mentioned last night. What exactly was going on? Was someone really creating more werewolves in town?
The thought alone sent chills down my spine.
If that were true, it meant more werewolves were on the way. That wild werewolf-was it created by others of its kind?
How many humans were even left in this town? Could the remaining humans stand any chance against such dangerous creatures?
The more I thought about it, the more hopeless I felt.
Kael had promised to protect this town. But could he really?
I didn’t want to rely on anyone else. It felt safer to depend on myself.
I decided to keep training in the boxing techniques Kael had taught me. I also needed to warn Evelyn and Judy again.
Luckily, Evelyn had her gift as a medium, which would help her protect herself. But for the rest of the town, most people believed werewolves were nothing more than myths.
If we tried to tell them the truth, they would probably think we were crazy-just like when Evelyn had warned our classmates and been mocked for it.
The outcome would be the same. I didn’t want to be labeled a lunatic.
I called Kael.
“Kael, what happened to the werewolf from last night?”
“Oh, he’s fine. We’ve captured him. Don’t worry, Seraphina.”
“Will more humans turn into werewolves?”
Kael fell silent for a moment.
“Yes. That’s why we need to find the person behind all this. Whoever it is, they’re very clever. They seem to understand what people truly desire, and some will definitely be swayed by their words.”
I understood what Kael meant. Humans often had insatiable desires, and some harbored grand ambitions.
If they discovered they could gain power beyond human limits, they would accept it-even if it meant becoming a hideous monster.
This town was sure to have such people.
“What about the werewolf from last night? Has he turned back into a human? Who is he?” I asked, hoping that identifying him might help us predict who else could turn.
“I’m still investigating. For now, Seraphina, let Marek accompany you wherever you go. He may not be as strong as I am, but he’s more than capable of handling newly turned werewolves.”
“Alright, I understand.”
After the call, I noticed a message from Magnus.
[Seraphina, it’s been a while. I miss you. Want to grab dinner?]
I hadn’t seen Magnus in a long time and had been avoiding him at the club. His previous remarks about werewolves filled me with unease.
Magnus’s obsession with werewolves made him dangerous.
Wait-if Magnus was so fixated on werewolves, what if the person behind all this gave him the serum? Magnus wouldn’t hesitate to transform into one.
I needed to stop him or at least talk to him.
[Sure, how about dinner tonight?]
[I’ve learned a new recipe. I can cook for you.]
[Let’s go to a restaurant instead,] I replied.
For some reason, the thought of being alone with Magnus at his house filled me with fear.
