Backstage.
Charlotte waited for her turn to go on stage, growing increasingly puzzled and sending the attendant to check several times.
“Miss Ellison, it seems we need to wait a bit longer,” the attendant said awkwardly.
“Why?”
“The process isn’t complete yet.”
“But the auspicious time is almost over! Where is my mother?” Charlotte said, attempting to leave, but the attendant stopped her.
“Miss, please reconsider. You are the bride today; it’s not appropriate to go out now.”
Indeed, she was the bride, already dressed in a white wedding gown adorned with tiny diamonds that sparkled with every step.
Charlotte had no choice but to calm down and sit in front of the mirror, looking at her reflection.
“Please ask Mr. Oconnor to come in. I need to speak with him.”
The attendant left.
Today, she had deliberately put on different makeup, not resembling Callie so much… but rather herself, Holly.
Just for one day, she would be herself.
Meanwhile, outside the hotel, a tall man accompanied by a doctor carrying a case was stopped by security.
“Sorry, no entry without an invitation.”
The sun was blazing, and the man’s face was anxious, beads of sweat forming on his forehead. “We have urgent business; please let us in!”
Tobias was extremely nervous. From the sounds inside, the wedding seemed to have already begun.
But Callie hadn’t sent them the invitation as agreed.
Where had she gone?
Tobias was very worried.
“Sorry, we can’t make exceptions,” the security guard said professionally.
Tobias glanced at the doctor beside him, who made a reassuring gesture. Just then, a car sped up, and a sharp-looking woman stepped out from the back seat, holding a document with a clear purpose.
Tobias was stunned by her decisive manner. She scrutinized them, her eyes flickering with understanding.
“Do you need to get inside?”
With no other options, Tobias nodded.
Mollie hadn’t planned to come today but decided to after considering Bridger’s request for information.
“This is…?” Mollie thought quickly, slightly suspicious. “A doctor? A plastic surgeon?”
Tobias’s eyes lit up, and he grasped Mollie’s hand. “So you’re on our side!”
Mollie laughed and handed the invitation to the security guard. “They’re with me.”
After checking, the security guard let them in.
“Although I’m not sure what plan Callie discussed with you, there’s an unexpected situation-she’s missing. Your plan might not proceed as expected,” Mollie said quickly and quietly as they walked.
“Callie is missing!” Tobias exclaimed softly. “Then what…”
“Let’s see how things unfold.”
Tobias frowned deeply. Last time, Callie had asked him to use his medical connections to find someone and bring them back personally after locating them.
He had gone through great effort to bring the person back to the country, only to find Callie missing!
Entering the wedding venue through a side door, Mollie immediately spotted a familiar figure-
Bridger was on stage speaking, wearing gold-rimmed glasses and looking as stern as he did back in school.
Mollie smirked.
Bridger also noticed her, his brow twitching.
Mollie found a seat for Tobias and herself, raised her glass provocatively, and signaled to the man on stage.
She mouthed, “Mr. Kaiser, long time no see.”
