The elders

Book:Rejected And Banished with His Heir Published:2025-3-27

Killian’s POV.
I sniffed in my tears as I walked around the corners of Elena’s old house, hoping I could find something that would lead me to her.
But only the sound of my legs against the grassed floor and the birds chirping could be heard, there was no sign of a living being except for me only.
The past few days have been the most traumatizing days of my life, Elena’s sudden disappearance weighed on me like a heavy sac.
Why does Faith keep treating me this way? Just when I thought I finally found happiness that would last me a lifetime, a heavy stream of sadness and agony came flooding and washed it all away, leaving me empty and bruised.
The void in my heart felt as empty as the starless sky. Sometimes I found it really shocking, I mean how could she just disappear into thin air leaving no trace behind?
She was so happy about the mating ceremony, she literally couldn’t wait to be my mate again.
How could everything turn around so quickly at the speed of light?
I stood at the door, exhaling a deep breath, and pushed the door open, stepping in.
A sudden flood of memories flashed through my head as I walked into the now partly empty house, the memories of the times we shared together all over this place washed over me.
The memory of our lovemaking flashed through my head, the feel of my hands caressing every tempting curve of her body, her legs wrapped around me as we drowned in the ocean of peak ecstasy. Her soft moans in my ears as I moved gently and passionately into her. Her soft lips on mine as I devoured it like a hungry lion.
I couldn’t hold back my tears anymore as the tears began to well up in my eyes, what am I without Elena? My happiness lies in the palms of her hand. Her disappearance has yet again reduced me to nothing, just like the last time.
Suddenly, through my tears filled eyes, I saw her, standing a few inches away from me, her beautiful smile radiating through the room and mending my broken heart. Her eyes shone like a bright morning star, speaking of innocence and affection.
“Elena?” I mumbled, a wide smile breaking out on my face, I quickly rushed towards her and made to pull her into my arms only for my hands to pass through the air.
She was no longer there, it was only a figment of my imagination.
A painful growl escaped my mouth as I lowered myself to the floor, tears streaming down my cheeks.
The more I thought about her, the more my heart ached painfully, I could feel a fit of anger surging through the tip of my stomach, all I wanted to do was to march into every single pack that I could lay my legs on and destroy everything in it until Elena is handed back to me.
“Fuck!” I cursed, releasing a heavy blow on the stoned floor, I watched my hands bleed profusely but the pain I felt in my hands was nothing compared to the vast turmoil stabbing me repeatedly across the heart.
I was in a blind rage, and the walls of the house were starting to spin in blurred vision.
I had no control over myself anymore, I could feel myself getting plunged back into the darkness that had consumed me years ago after her banishment, the void was staring at me again and it was eating me up just as fast.
I couldn’t raise my hands to clean off the tears that kept streaming down my cheeks, I let them fall freely.
This situation has broken me in ways I never thought possible, despite being the strong and powerful Alpha that everyone depended on, my weakness angered me, but I had no control over my emotions whenever Elena was involved.
The pain coupled with anger that simmered through me was like an indescribable storm of thorns and wages, prickling at me and leaving me wailing over and over.
Every moment felt like an eternity of endless torture.
When I couldn’t take it anymore, I staggered to my feet and stumbled out of the house.
Halfway out of the house, I heard a sudden bang from inside and I quickly halted in my track.
Was it yet another figment of my imagination or did the loud noise truly come from her house?
I swiftly turned around to head back inside but a voice called out to me from behind immediately.
I turned around to see one of my guards hurrying towards me. “Alpha, you are summoned by the elders to their chamber right now,” he announced.
“Did they state why I’m being summoned?” I raised my brows at him.
“No, they didn’t,”
I exhaled a deep breath, waving him off with my hand. “You may go.”
I turned to take a last glance at Elena’s house, wondering if the loud bang had been only my imagination. I mean I was in there a minute ago, and it was as silent as a grave yard except from noise from me growling in fury.
Ruling it off to be truly a figment of my imagination, I walked away, toward the elders chamber.
*
As I walked into the chamber, I met the unhappy faces of the elders, as soon as my gaze landed on Beta Ezra, Aria’s father, I knew instantly what the meeting was about. But do I have the energy for their unsolicited tantrums? Definitely not one bit.
“Greetings, elders,” I tried to control the anger that was beginning to simmer inside me.
“Alpha, do have your seat, we summoned you for an important meeting,” the chief elder spoke up.
“I will suggest that we head right into the topic of the meeting while I stand, because as we all know, my mate has gone missing, and every minute of my time is dedicated to finding her,” I blurted.
I watched as they took a quick glance at each other, then back at me.
“Well, it’s about your Luna that you have locked up,”
“Of course, it is,” I muttered under my breath.
“We demand that you release her, she’s innocent, my daughter will never commit such a grievous crime,” Beta Ezra chirped in.
I clenched my fist in anger, holding myself back from lunging towards him. It was taking every ounce of self control in me right now to hold myself back from plucking his heart out and leaving his empty body as an example for the rest of the elders.
I was terribly angered that none of them spoke about Elena’s disappearance, they were only keen about Aria.
“He’s right Killian, Aria is your Luna, you can’t have her humiliated this way,” the chief elder added.
“And a search party is already on the lookout for Elena, she will be found soon, you don’t have to punish an innocent woman for it,” Elder Gregory blurted.
I chuckled dryly, my gaze shifting from each of them to the other. “I have a lot going on right and I’m downed with anger all over, now if I say a word about this issue in the state that I’m in, it will come out terribly disastrous and we don’t want that right?” I spoke in an unbelievably soft tone.
“Therefore, the meeting is dismissed,” I added, turning around and headed out.
“Are you going to leave like that? What about my daughter?” Beta Ezra screamed after him.
I ignored him and proceeded to make my way out.
Abruptly, I halted by the door and turned back around, my gaze fixed intently on Beta Ezra. “Your daughter will be released once she speaks the truth.”
