ENZO DE-LUCA
This isn’t right.
I smiled as Maeve happily took my hand and even though I was always more steps ahead of her whenever we walked, she was right in front of me right now.
She walked so care-freely and I felt my chest tighten as I watched her walk like she was a little girl that had just been promised candy or her favorite Barbie doll.
This doesn’t feel right, this feeling in my chest, this warm glow that enveloped my entire being doesn’t seem right. It doesn’t make sense.
Just when I make a promise to myself to steer clear of her, I find myself getting drawn to her even more. She’s not supposed to be more than my slut.
She’s not supposed to be more than a tool for my satisfaction, my cum rag, my cocksleeve but somehow, somehow I’m starting to see her as something more.
I’d stupidly opened my mouth and told her that I was in love with her. Why would I do that? Why in the world did I do that?
She’s caught my eyes in so many ways and that’s all shades of wrong because my eyes aren’t supposed to be getting drawn to something I’m bound to destroy.
I’m not supposed to be getting this attached to something I’m supposed to break but somehow, I can’t stop staring at her.
I can’t stop smiling and whenever she walks into a room, I can’t help but notice the instant glow she brings into the room, the instant happiness I feel in my chest.
This is new, foreign. It’s a kind of feeling I shouldn’t be allowed to experience.
We soon got into the dining room and the table was already set with all kinds of food that made her eyes light up at once as her face flushed.
“Whoa!” She said happily, letting go of my hand and rushing towards the table, “there’s a lot to eat! Thank goodness! I was starving.” She squealed as she sat.
Maeve started getting ready to eat and I just couldn’t wipe off the smile on my face as I sat right in front of her just so I could watch her eat.
She had a glow on her face and even though her eyes looked tired because of all the intense routine I’d put her through, she still looked absolutely beautiful.
She looked like a fucking goddess.
“Why aren’t you eating? There’s a lot.” Maeve’s voice jolted me out of my thoughts and I bursted out laughing when I saw her cheek pouch and the stain around her mouth.
It feels nice and that’s wrong, seeing her being herself around me with her guard down makes me feel as giddy as ever and that isn’t me.
“Here,” I handed her a napkin that she took carefully after muttering her appreciation, “and as for the food, I told you already, didn’t I?” I questioned with a raised eyebrow.
“I told you I’m going to have my own meal when you’re well fed so don’t worry about me and just keep eating.” I finished.
The bottomless peace and satisfaction I felt just watching her eat made me feel a little uneasy again. Am I doing the right thing? Should I be bringing a feeling like love into this when I’d forbidden it?
Shaking the thoughts out of my head, I tried as hard as I could to convince myself that whatever happens wouldn’t be my fault because I’d gone out of my way to show her just how dangerous my world is, so whatever happens to her will be her responsibility and not mine.
She’s responsible for anything that happens to her and it wouldn’t be my fault because I didn’t force her to do anything. Hell, I didn’t even ask her to act on the nonsense I’d spewed to her earlier on.
Sighing, I knew that was just a lie that I was telling myself. If anything should happen to her I’d definitely go berserk, I can’t let anything happen to her.
I’m going to protect her, no matter what.
The sound of Maeve coughing and choking brought me back to my senses, bringing a total halt to my thoughts. My eyes widened as I watched her hit her chest in an attempt to get the food to go down.
I knew something like this was going to happen because of the way she’d been eating at the speed of light.
Laughing, I hurriedly poured her a glass of water and handed it over to her as I patted her back slowly to help her out.
“Take it easy on the food, it’s not going anywhere.” I said amidst laughter as I went back to my seat but all I got from her was a hostile glare that almost made me freeze.
“Don’t look at me like that, something severe could have happened to you.” I sighed. I was avoiding the word because seeing something as bad as that happen to her right in front of me would ruin me.
Silence settled between us but it wasn’t awkward or uncomfortable as usual, it was peaceful, like we didn’t need to say or do anything for each other, we just needed to be in the moment.
It’s wrong for me to feel this kind of happiness, it’s very wrong.
“Enzo?” Her soft voice called, causing me to look up from my phone, our eyes met and I just couldn’t count how many times I’d gotten lost in those beautiful eyes of hers.
“What is it, princess? Do you need anything?” I enquired, ready to go to war for her if that’s what she wants.
“My phone, can I use it now?” She asked with her eyes wide and too innocent for me to keep looking at.
“Oh, sure,” I responded with a nod, “you can use it anytime you want to and when you’re done eating you can go and take it from the room.” I said softly.
“Thank you!” She cheered happily as she resumed eating her food with enthusiasm and humming while she chewed.
I couldn’t tear my eyes away from her features, my lips parted because I had a lot of things to say to her but I have absolutely no idea where to start from.
There are things I want to tell her, things she needs to know she’s free from but-
“Maeve?” I’d called her name before I could think and she was staring at me with curiosity written all over her face now.
“About the phone,” I started and watched as she raised a brow, “if you’re going to use it to call for help then you’re absolutely free to do so, in fact, I wouldn’t actually want you to call for help.” I laughed dryly.
“Forget everything I said when you first came here, if you want to leave my house now then you’re absolutely free to do so.” I continued, thinking back to how I’d manipulated her father into signing her off to me.
It’s ridiculous for me to want to keep something so pure and simple to myself, it’s selfish of me to want to ruin the perfectly good life she had going.
“You know, your father is the one who owes me and he’s dead now, although, in the agreement he signed you’re to be the one to complete the payment but there are other ways to do that.”
“You don’t need to be in my house to pay me back, keeping you caged here is not fair, especially to you and considering my reputation, I shouldn’t care but-”
“What are you saying?” She cut in before I could finish my sentence and I drew in another sharp breath before I continued.
“I’m giving you a choice, Maeve,” I responded, “you can leave this house and pay me back on your time or you can stay and remain my- slut.” I had no idea why I hesitated.
“Right now, while I’m still being an idiot, the last thing I want is for you to feel like a prisoner and-”
“I don’t feel like a prisoner,” she interrupted me, “I mean, I felt like a prisoner before but not anymore.” She felt the need to correct.
“I want to stay here……. with you,” she continued with a big smile that made me wonder if she’s really in her right senses.
“I agreed to be your pet, your slut, I signed the agreement and there’s no way I’m going to back out of it now, not when I’m starting to enjoy being your slut.” She finished.
I listened, utterly amused and enraptured by her.
“You really are a weird one.” Was all I could manage as I smiled. Her smile widened even more, her face radiating so much happiness that I just couldn’t help but wonder.
How can anyone be happy here? How can anyone be happy with me?
How is she able to enjoy being my slut?
The sound of the door to the dining room opening jolted me out of my thoughts and I lifted my gaze to see Levi breathing heavily as he walked towards me.
He was covered in blood too, I could tell that he was trying to say something but nothing was coming out of his mouth, I couldn’t hear a single sound.
What the hell happened? How long was I absent for something so drastic to have happened?
The air was stale, my heart pounded against my chest as my breathing paced and my chest heaved. Seeing Levi in that kind of position was causing anger to brew inside of me.
Raw, dangerous anger swirled through me and I felt like a volcano at the verge of eruption.
“Enzo.” I heard Maeve’s voice call softly but it would take a little more than that to get me out of the red state that I was in.
Fury ran red through my brain and my vision was completely covered with blood.
“What. Happened?” I asked, standing from my seat to meet Levi halfway. I could hear his breathing now and it sounded more restrained.
He was bleeding profusely and anger almost choked me when I saw the wound on my best friend’s neck.
“WHO DID THIS TO YOU?!” I barked, my voice reverberating through the room.
“T- Th- The Li- The Lions,” He gargled, blood gushing out of his neck as he tried to speak, “Yvette, Danger.” My best friend managed to finish before crashing into me.
“GUARDS!” I yelled, holding Levi up and trying to get him out of the room. I had no idea Maeve was already so close until I heard her voice.
“I can try some first aid before we take him to the hospital, he’s losing so much blood.” She said, her voice shaking, she was clearly panicking.
“I’ll leave him to you then!” I growled as soon as my men came in, “I need as many of you to stay with Levi and Maeve, take him to the hospital when she’s done, the rest of you, FOLLOW ME!” I ordered.
“Enzo! W- What are you going to do?” Maeve asked as if the answer to that question isn’t obvious.
“I’m going to kill every single one of them.”
