Chapter 127

Clark’s POV.
I yawned before jolting up from my bed. I turned to my alarm clock that wouldn’t stop singing out loud.
I groaned as I turned it off before stretching my body as my bones cracked. “Good morning, New Kingston!!” I said with a broad smile as I looked at curtains that were apart as the sun ray made its way into my room.
My phone beeped twice. I picked it up as I saw Achilles name on it. “Three missed calls?” I cursed as I wondered how deep I must have slept.
I got up as I walked inside the bathroom to brush my teeth and then shower and before I was done, Achilles had called three more times again.
I returned his call as I sat down on my chair that faced directly outside my room. “Good morning, Achilles.” I greeted.
“Morning, Clark. I guess you must have been asleep?” He said in a calm voice.
“Yeah, woke up quite not long and I had to go shower before reaching out to you. So, anything yet?” I asked.
“Yeah!!” He responded immediately. “First of all, Kingsley just made his way to New Kingston. That should be six hours ago!!” He mumbled.
“Kingsley? New Kingston? Six hours ago?” I yelped in shock as my jaw dropped down.
“Why is he in New Kingston? Were you able to find out?” I questioned immediately.
“From my Intel, he communicated with someone yesterday and tracking his call, it led to the Night Wolves pack.” He responded.
“Night Wolves pack?” I furrowed my eyebrows as I was unfamiliar with the name.
“Yeah, Night Wolves pack. Collins Morgan happens to be their Alpha.” He said in a calm voice this time around as my jaw dropped down.
“And were you able to look up on the lady?” I couldn’t help but ask.
“Yeah, I was but nothing much. All I could gather was Desdemona and she recently made her way back to New Kingston yesterday as well and she has been communicating with Kingsley for almost two months now, starting from Chicago, that’s where all their calls took place.” He responded.
I remained quiet for a while as I couldn’t figure out who the lady was and it was going to be a hard nut to crack as well, considering the fact that I was just hearing about the Night wolves pack for the first time.
I rolled my eyes as I got up from my chair as I paced about in the room.
“Are you there?” He mumbled after a few minutes.
“Yeah, yeah, I am.” I responded. “Why don’t you look up at the lady? And were you able to have any of their conversations? Any records of it?” I questioned.
“They mostly talked about Chicago, Cleveland, Rex King and you know the next, they also spoke about Elena Toussaint. But he never went deeply into Elena’s story or even Maya.” He said in a light-hearted voice.
“Okay then, no problem. Just keep in touch with me, okay?” I muttered before ending the call.
I rushed out as I bumped into Rex who was already dressed up.
“Oh! Good morning, Rex!!” I greeted immediately as I lowered my head. “Guess I really woke up late today.” I said in a whisper as I scanned myself.
I was putting on just a white singlet and a black boxer that held me well. I walked inside the kitchen as I filled my teacup with coffee.
“You woke up pretty early today, I must commend you.” I shrugged as I sipped a little percentage of my coffee.
“Yeah, what were you expecting? Today happens to be a big day for everyone in New Kingston, I suppose.” He sneered as he gulped in the last coffee in his teacup.
I furrowed my eyebrows as I wondered what he meant by that and I also couldn’t ruin his morning by mentioning Kingsley’s name and worst of it, telling him that Kingsley was currently in New Kingston and from everything, he is aware of Elena Toussaint as well.
“Is there anything you would love to say?” He asked me as he looked at me. “You look like someone who has a lot to say.” He rolled his eyes before tilting his lips as he looked at me.
“Nah, nothing at all. I was just wondering why I overslept.” I chuckled softly as I sipped the coffee which burnt my tongue.
“It’s obvious. Just spill it, okay!!” He rolled his eyes as he dropped his teacup. “And were you also able to find out about Collins Morgan? If we want to win, then we must know what we are up against.” He shrugged as he looked directly into my eyes.
“Darn it!!” I cursed as I looked at him. “Okay, fine!!” I exhaled sharply as I looked at him. “I was talking to Achilles and… I… I think we have a little problem here!!” I stuttered as I looked at him.
“Little problem?” He furrowed his eyebrows as he looked at me. “And what could it be?” He queried, maintaining eye contact with me.
“Yeah, a little problem.” I said with a broad smile on my face.
He exhaled gently as he sat down on one of the dining chairs. “Okay then, go on!! Spill it.” He said in a calm voice as he looked at me.
“Kingsley is aware of Elena, probably.” I said with uncertainty but then, he only wore a straight face as he looked at me.
“I expected your jaw to drop down because we know that Kingsley will definitely come all the way down here to kill Elena with his own hands.” I snapped as I looked at his expressionless face.
“Well, mother texted me last night to inform me about Kingsley’s presence here in New Kingston. And talking about what brought him here, I happened to figure that out. Elena was at the banquet and Kingsley happens to have few friends in the founding families, so maybe, words got to him.” He smirked as he got up.
