“Did he know I added the pill? The color remained the same, and nothing about the odor changed. Oh no…did it taste different?” Various thoughts flashed through Violet’s mind as she darted her eyeballs around. She suddenly began to feel so hot despite the cool breeze that blew inside.
“Violet?” Killian called out, causing Violet to raise her eyes sharply at him.
“I…I don’t understand what you are talking about, my Alpha. I didn’t add anything to the water.” Violet stuttered, rubbing her fingers against one another.
“Well…” Killian paused, dropped the cup on the table and smiled.
“The water felt so refreshing, and it calmed my boiling nerves. That’s why I asked you the question. Don’t overthink it.” He said to her calmly. Violet took a deep breath, bit her lower lip and sighed.
“You can leave.” Said Sara as she dismissed Violet. She turned to Killian, looking so perplexed as she was unsure of what just happened.
“What happened just now? Did she truly mix something with the water?” Sara inquired, staring straight at Killian’s face.
Killian turned to look at her, when he got caught up by her beautiful stare. Her eyeballs holding on tight to his own.
He swallowed hard, grabbed Sara’s hand and whispered into her ears:
“If only you were not pregnant…” Sara sighed at his remarks and slowly pulled her hand away.
“You don’t want to tell me?” Asked Sara as she disconnected her eyes from Killian’s.
“About Violet? I told the truth. Aside from the water being extra refreshing, I felt nothing else.” Killian replied to her, while Sara nodded.
“It’s a relief then. By the way, I have something to tell you.”
“Really? What’s it about?” Killian asked her, the smile on his face slowly disappeared as he paid full attention to Sara.
“I want to go back to the Human world.”
“What?” Killian exclaimed, his eyeballs popping out widely.
“The old man who saved me, he died because of me, and I am sure no one would have given him a proper burial. Also, lots of things have happened recently, and I am getting closer to giving birth. I don’t want to give birth in the lands of the wolves. I feel like the human world is safer.” Sara explained. She drew herself closer to Killian, wrapped her hands around him and rested her head on his chest.
“Please. Do this for me, only in that way will I feel at ease.” Sara pleaded.
Killian sighed, placed his two hands on Sara’s shoulders and pulled her some distance away. He lowered his head so that his eyes could be on the same level with hers’
“I understand. It’s just that I am scared, the human world is no less dangerous than the wolves’ land. Besides, their hatred for wolves is too much, I doubt if it will be safe enough for you and the baby.” Killian spoke softly to her.
“You will be there. With you around, I can’t possibly be afraid of anything.” Sara replied in a low tone. She bowed her head slightly as she felt a bit shy to stare into Killian’s eyes.
“Oh! Well, you caught me on that. So when should we set off?” Killian asked, throwing his hands into the air.
“Zayne was there too… he took advantage of my memory loss and told me I was his mate.” Sara sighed, rested her back on her wall with her arms folded across her chest.
“Including Leon too…thinking about all of these truly makes me ponder on the moon priestess’ words. If Zayne and Leon should join hands together, then it will be so hard to tackle both of them together.” She finalized, taking in a deep breath.
Killian smiled, stood up and gave her a peck on the forehead.
“You are overthinking things, Sara. I doubt if Zayne and Leon would ever work together.”
“I should say you are taking things too lightly, Killian. I also hope that I am overthinking things, but it’s very possible. They both have a common enemy which is you.” Sara pointed out, while Killian exuded a sharp breath.
“I guess I have to accept this responsibility. If I can accept my witch part and tap into my powers, maybe I can help you and defend against the two of them.” She continued. She stood up, opened her drawer and took out a book.
The book looked so old and the words written on it had almost faded.
“Where did you get this whole book?” Killian asked, staring curiously at the book.
“When I was framed for murder, and was locked up in the prison. I had a strange dream where you and Zayne fought brutally. But in the end, he overpowered you, and killed you.” Sara paused, placed her hand on Killian’s hand and smiled.
“It’s another reason for my decision to go back to the human world. This is a book of spells that I have been studying. Practicing it here might alarm the Werewolves, and you know it’s forbidden. To become more powerful, I feel like the human world is a better place.” Sara explained to him, and just as Killian was about to reply, a knock landed on the door.
Violet walked in, bowed and said to them;
“The moon priestess wants to see both of you, she is waiting outside.” Violet relayed the message to them.
Killian and Sara glanced at each other, their brows furrowed as they wondered why the moon priestess would be looking for them.
“Well, I was about to go see her, please let her in.” Killian ordered, while Violet dashed out to inform the moon priestess.
The moon priestess walked in a couple of seconds later and bowed before both of them.
“I hereby relay the moon goddess’ wishes to both of you. The Luna’s delivery date is near, and the moon goddess wants her to leave the pack with immediate effect.” The moon priestess said, while Killian and Sara stared at each other in surprise.
“Is there anything wrong, wise one?”
“Yes. There is…Violet!”
