“Coming!”
Tilda didn’t bother putting on shoes and ran straight to the door.
However, she was cautious enough to check the video monitor.
It wasn’t Johnny.
It was his ex-girlfriend-Caroline.
Suddenly, Tilda found herself disliking her. She wasn’t as agreeable as the one she met at the mall before, who at least understood when things were explained clearly.
Why was this one so persistent?
She considered pretending not to be home, but it was too late. The woman outside had already started calling out.
“I know you’re in there. Open the door. I want to talk.”
This woman even knew she was home! Could it be that she had spied on her?
Reluctantly, Tilda turned around to grab a piece of clothing to throw on and put on her shoes before going to open the door.
After all, facing a rival in love required proper attire. She couldn’t afford to appear sloppy and lose ground.
Caroline froze when she saw Tilda.
“What are you doing here?”
Tilda quickly realized that Caroline’s words were meant for Johnny! She had mistakenly thought this woman had some extraordinary abilities, knowing she was home alone. “As his fiancee, it wouldn’t be strange for me to be in Johnny’s house, right? But I didn’t expect to see you, his ex-girlfriend, here.”
Caroline was well aware of Tilda’s sharp tongue and knew she wouldn’t gain any advantage verbally.
“Where’s Johnny?”
“Are you looking for him?” Tilda asked knowingly.
Caroline’s face turned red with anger. “Of course! Why would I look for you?”
“If you’re looking for him, why ask me? Don’t you have his number? Or did you call him and he didn’t answer?”
“You-”
Tilda stepped back and looked her up and down with a sneer. “You planned to come find him and sleep with him again, right? No wonder you’re dressed so seductively!”
Caroline was left speechless and could only feebly retort, “I did not!”
“Sister, it’s only 10 degrees today. I’m shivering under my blankets, and here you are, wearing shorts and a tight-knit top and knocking on a man’s door, yet you tell me you’re not trying to seduce my fiance?! It’s laughable! Your intentions are practically written all over your face!”
“I dress like this normally! Johnny said he loved my legs the most!”
Tilda glanced at them. They were indeed nice-fair and long. Johnny certainly had good taste!
“Oh, I see! Then cut them off. When Johnny returns, I’ll hand them over to him.”
“Will you cut them? If not, I’m closing the door! It’s cold!”
She had work to do!
Caroline was losing ground rapidly and felt anxious.
She really wanted to tell this woman about the child to make her stop being so arrogant! But every time she remembered how Johnny had grabbed her throat last time and warned her not to speak of it with such fierceness, she was truly afraid.
“Don’t think that just because you’re living in this villa, you’ll marry Johnny!”
“Have you ever lived here?” Tilda was genuinely curious.
But seeing her expression made Tilda quite satisfied.
It seemed Johnny was telling the truth!
He hadn’t brought women home before.
“I will be Johnny’s wife sooner or later. Don’t get too complacent because you can’t compare with me!”
Tilda clicked her tongue and crossed her arms as she looked at her. “You should say that to Johnny because I’m really different from you. He insisted on marrying me shamelessly. And you? You threw yourself at him, but he had never spared a glance for you.”
