Ulric fell asleep mumbling apologies.
Perhaps he was extremely tired, or maybe it was holding Rosalind’s hand that gave him a moment of peace.
The calm before the storm was unsettling, yet being able to hold hands, embrace, and share a bed was a blessing.

In the morning, Johnny woke up and snuggled with Tilda for a while before heading to freshen up, shirtless.
She had told him several times to wear pajamas or a robe, but Johnny never listened.
Despite having many girlfriends before, he had never lived with anyone. Dates usually ended at hotels, and he always slept alone at home, so he wasn’t accustomed to wearing clothes to bed.
Knowing Tilda liked seeing his abs, he was even more reluctant to put on a shirt.
“Is there much work at the company today?”
“There are two meetings. Ulric doesn’t trust anyone else with the tech company matters, so I have to go in his place,” Johnny said with a slight pout, holding his electric toothbrush and turning to look at her. “Why? Do you have plans tonight?”
Tilda shook her head. “No, just wondering when you’ll be back from work.”
“Probably around two or three in the afternoon. I’ll drive us somewhere nice for dinner!”
“You sound like you’re trying to please a child,” Tilda muttered as she joined him in the bathroom.
Seeing her approach, Johnny held his toothbrush between his teeth, quickly squeezed toothpaste onto hers, and handed it over.
“So thoughtful.”
“Of course!” Johnny grinned, nearly dropping his toothbrush.
“I read online that men are most considerate and gentle when they’re guilty about something. Do you have a guilty conscience?”
Thud!
Johnny’s toothbrush finally fell.
He quickly bent down to pick it up, thinking about how to explain his nervousness to her.
But when he stood up again, he realized Tilda was just joking and wasn’t pressing him about why he was so flustered that he dropped his toothbrush.
Only then did Johnny breathe a sigh of relief.
After freshening up, Tilda took her laptop to the living room.
Since she didn’t need to work in an office, Tilda found a comfortable spot in the spacious living room and set up a small table.
She loved the large and open space of Johnny’s villa living room! Working there felt like… the boss was actually working for her!
Today, Johnny wore a black suit, tailored perfectly to make him look tall and dashing.
Tilda ran over barefooted to help him with his tie.
“Bend down a little! You’re too tall I can’t reach!”
Johnny smiled indulgently and bent his knees, leaning against the sofa back as she focused on figuring out how to tie it properly.
Her hands were small, soft, and fair.
As she fiddled around his chest, Johnny found it hard to stay focused.
“Is it done?”
“Almost done!”
Johnny gritted his teeth. “If you don’t finish soon, I’ll want to do something else.”
At this, Tilda immediately let go of the tie. “You better do it yourself. I can’t manage.”
“You could’ve said that earlier!”
Johnny took several deep breaths before grabbing his car keys. “I’m off. Call me if you need anything!”
“Okay! Bye!” Tilda waved at him and watched Johnny walk towards the entrance and close the door behind him.
Just as she was about to return to the sofa, the doorbell rang!
Huh? Could Johnny have forgotten something?
