He felt so filthy that even he couldn’t stand it!
“Ulric, when have I ever found you dirty?” Rosalind stubbornly grasped his hand. He shook her off, and she grabbed it again.
Suddenly, Ulric pinned her against the wall, his hand tightly clutching hers. His long legs aggressively parted hers, trapping her in place.
“Ulric…”
Before Rosalind could finish her sentence, his kiss descended upon her.
It was frantic and desperate, as if it were their last kiss.
“Mmm…” Rosalind felt the air being sucked from her chest, leaving her bewildered.
She tasted the metallic tang of blood from Ulric’s mouth, matching the stains on his clothes.
Was Ulric injured?
Rosalind’s struggle wasn’t to escape him but to check where he might be hurt.
But she was no match for his strength and could only let him take what he wanted, lost in a daze.
Feeling suffocated, she bit his lip to make him stop.
Ulric seemed to regain his senses, stiffened momentarily, and then released her before quickly walking away.
Rosalind stood there for a long time before she chased after him.
Back in the hospital room, Ulric went straight into the bathroom.
He didn’t take off his clothes. Instead, he stood under the shower with his coat on, letting the cold water soak him thoroughly, bringing him clarity.
Ulric needed to investigate and verify Sirena’s words.
That woman was always full of lies. What she said might not be true.
However…
Ulric couldn’t shake the feeling that Sirena hadn’t lied this time.
Just this once, she didn’t deceive him.
“Ulric, Ulric, come out!”
Rosalind banged on the bathroom door. “Taking a cold shower, are you trying to kill yourself?”
She initially thought Ulric was just eager to clean himself due to his obsession with cleanliness. But seeing no steam on the bathroom door, Rosalind knew he hadn’t turned on the hot water!
“Your wounds haven’t healed yet. Are you crazy? Ulric, come out!”
Gritting her teeth, Rosalind pounded on the door. When there was still no response from inside, she turned to grab a chair from the room.
The bathroom door wasn’t solid wood but glass. It should shatter easily.
Before lifting it up, she shouted inside, “Ulric, move away from the door! If you don’t open it, I’ll break it down!”
At last, Rosalind heard Ulric’s voice.
Perhaps it was because of the cold. His voice trembled and was hoarse beyond recognition.
“Leave me alone for a while.”
“Tell me what’s going on! Tell me, and I’ll leave.”
“Rosalind, just ten minutes, okay? Let me be alone for a while.”
Rosalind pursed her lips and slowly put down the chair. “Ten minutes then. Not a second more, or I’ll break down the door.”
Then she headed straight to Rebecca’s office.
“Dr. Stewart, I need some cold medicine and fever reducers and something for bruises and bleeding.”
Rebecca was taken aback. “Who’s sick or injured? Mr. Walters?”
“Possibly.” She wasn’t sure either.
Rebecca immediately stood up. “I’ll go with you!”
“No need. He won’t let you in. Just give them to me. I’ll take care of him.”
