“Couldn’t find her.”
On the top floor of the Oconnor Group, Anthony reported breathlessly, “The surveillance was destroyed. Miss Marsh disappeared after leaving the airport. Our people are checking every suspicious vehicle, but it will take some time.”
He barely dared to look up as the man in front of him exuded an overwhelming aura.
Nelson’s face was filled with impatience and irritation. “Any results from the investigation on the person on the plane?”
“Yes, he admitted to taking money from a stranger to say what he did. The account is unknown, still tracing it.”
“Someone capable of destroying airport surveillance must have some skills. It seems premeditated.”
“Who could it be?”
“Jamir.”
At the mention of this name, Davian, who had been on guard all night, blurted out, “Callie’s lapdog?”
Indeed, he had considerable influence in Anbusea and could help Callie escape.
Within ten minutes, Anthony found Jamir’s private contact information and handed it to Nelson. Just as Nelson glanced at it, a commotion erupted outside the office.
“Sir! You can’t go in!” The secretary couldn’t stop him. Nelson looked up to see a tall man storming in, his eyes filled with rage.
He rushed up to Nelson, grabbed his collar, and punched him. “Where the hell did you hide Callie!”
It was Jamir, who had traveled overnight, radiating hostility.
Nelson’s cheek reddened from the punch. He wiped the blood from his mouth, nodded slightly, then grabbed Jamir’s arm and slammed him against the wall, delivering two hard punches that left Jamir’s face bloodied.
“I could have sent her away! You should mind your own business!” Nelson rarely fought personally, but he was ruthless this time.
The office staff panicked. “Mr. Oconnor!”
Nelson didn’t give Jamir a chance to react, punching him repeatedly until blood blurred Jamir’s mouth. Jamir fought back, flipping Nelson over and pinning him down, returning the blows.
“She belongs here! You don’t understand her and dare to imprison her! If she gets injured, I’ll make you pay!”
Davian and Anthony rushed forward to pull Jamir away. “Enough! It’s not the time to argue.”
Jamir, more injured and angrier, glared at Nelson. “Where is she?”
Nelson leaned against the sofa, his collar half torn open, his hands bloody, looking wild and untamed.
His eyes darkened as he realized that if Jamir was asking this question, Callie wasn’t with him.
Jamir, a smart man, scanned the room and sneered. “Don’t tell me she’s missing.”
A deathly silence followed.
“Bastard!” Jamir spat at Nelson.
Nelson felt a void inside; his last hope vanished, meaning Callie was in grave danger.
Nelson’s voice turned icy. “This is Ylosea. How did she contact you? You better tell me every word.”
It seemed their communication hadn’t stopped. Callie trusted Jamir enough to entrust her fate to him.
Jamir wiped his bloodied face.
