ANASTASIA
I wanted Diego’s decision to change when he sees me standing at the door. But my Alpha Lord stood on his word, getting ready to leave with Arnold.
He gave me one more look with a faint smile of unhappiness spreading across his face, before exiting the lab, leaving me in Jeremy’s care.
“Diego,” I called with sadness, wishing I could reach out to him. But he has made his decision. He doesn’t want my condition to get worst while staying with him.
Seems Jeremy has told him everything he needs to know about the new shift in my body system.
I saw Diego talking to him about the drugs while pointing at the five bottles they secured from the mission.
My Alpha sounded really desperate, ordering Jeremy to work on the cure real quick.
Jeremy had to point out the fact that the five might not be enough for him to work on, but he promised to do all his best to make sure the five drugs are used to come up with something strong enough to save me from my infection.
“It’s good that you told him,” Jeremy said, standing next to me at the door of the room where I stood.
“At least he’ll know how serious the situation is,” He said, smiling.
Looking at how calm Jeremy was, I felt guilty and began to apologize to him for what happened. “It’s my fault that you got attacked. I’m really sorry.”
“Nah, it’s okay, ” Jeremy chuckled, leaning against the wall.
“We all know how the Alpha acts when he gets really mad. It’s not the first time I’ll be lifted in the air like a criminal,” He laughed, joking about himself, with his hands grabbing his collar to demonstrate.
When I saw this, I busted into laughter, cackling along with him.
It was really funny.
“Hey,” Jeremy called gaining my attention.
I turned to look at my lab doctor, who stared back at me emotionally and said, ” You’re going to get your life back, Anna. You now have all of us working together to help you, including the Alpha himself. He’ll make sure nothing happens to you.”
“Thanks Jeremy,” I appreciated, feeling my heart swelling for my Diego.
I’m not happy with the way he found out about my case. It has only made him more desperate and hurt, knowing that I kept something as serious as this from him for one month.
Goddess, the guilt… It’s killing me.
“Jeremy.”
“Yes?”
I lifted my eyes back at Jeremy, who also had his attention fixed on me, waiting to hear what I had to say.
“Did I go too far by telling Diego he’s the reason behind my decision?” I asked.
Right now, I have no one else to talk to about my feelings. Aside from Arnold, Jeremy is the next person I can turn to.
“Oh, Um…” He looked a bit lost but tried to think about it before saying anything.
“Honestly Anna… You didn’t do anything wrong,” Jeremy replied, signaling me to walk with him.
We drew away from the room and began strolling around the lab.
“You didn’t lie about it. He’s the reason why you had to make that decision. He made you scared with his change of behavior. Like Arnold said, you are different from the both of us. We can take the Alpha’s rage, but not you. Your heart isn’t built for such pressure, ” Jeremy said, indicating on the truth.
“Someone had to make him see the repercussions of his actions. He was engulfed by troubling emotions of the past that refused to leave him, but that almost cost him his present life with you.” He turned to face me, coming to a halt outside another room which was his second office ground.
With his hand falling on my shoulder as a sign of support, Jeremy said, ” You took the right step by pointing that out to him, Anna. I’ll say the heavens didn’t want anything to keep you two apart, that’s why the Goddess allowed the drug to react in front of the Alpha.”
He chuckled, bringing back Diego’s terrifying attack on him. “I was stunned at his desperation to beat out the truth from me. That man loves you like crazy.”
What he said planted a beautiful and bright feeling of love for my Alpha in my heart.
My cheeks came burning just from imagining how far he’s ready to go to get me cured.
How far he’s willing to keep me alive.
Diego… I wish I could do something to reduce this workload on you. It’s too much for him.
“You’re one lucky girl, Anna. Always remember that,” Jeremy said, sliding his finger across my cheek to wipe the tears streaming out.
I sniffed and lifted my eyes at him. He looked proud of the relationship Diego and I were sharing. Like it’s the most wonderful thing he has ever seen.
“I think it’s time for your shot. The Alpha permitted me to give it to you until he says it’s enough,” Jeremy said, opening the door to his office.
Knowing I can’t escape it, I gave out a sigh and followed him into the room, getting myself ready for this new phase of my life.
He even notified me that I won’t be staying in that room but a much better one. It was an order from Diego.
He knows how much that space affects me whenever I see it.
“Okay,” I responded to Jeremy, who led me to the new room, holding the needle in his hand.
That way when he injects me and the drug kicks in, I can easily fall asleep in the room and not in his office.
Well, I hope I won’t live like this for a week?
I’m already missing the mansion and my Diego.
.
Two days have passed since Diego left me to stay at the lab for better observations and check ups.
I hardly lay my eyes on him whenever he shows up. That’s because I was asleep from the shots Jeremy has been giving to me.
But my wonderful doctor always told me that Diego came to see me. He even showed me a footage as a prove, so I won’t feel upset.
That made me happy.
But on this day, I was lucky to meet my Alpha. Not face to face, but from a distance.
I was taking a stroll around the lab when I saw Diego and Arnold at the lab room with Jeremy.
He came to find out about the progress of the drug so far.
“Still working on it, Alpha. I’ve already carried out a few tests with three of the bottles. The results on our lab rats aren’t giving that much except for one,” Jeremy reported, showing both Diego and Arnold a video of those two ladies in their cells.
They were still acting like their horny selves with no sign of improvement. Only one clip showed that the third test Jeremy ran on them had a short relief from the infection on one of the ladies.
“She was fine for about an hour and didn’t even touch herself despite the temptation brought before her,” Jeremy shared.
“That means we’re getting close,” Arnold said to Diego, pointing it out.
Diego hummed, still keeping his eyes on the screen.
“If there’s a chance to get more, there’s an opportunity of getting a cure soon,” Jeremy said, pointing out.
Arnold was pleased with this.
He looked at Diego and made mention of the last mission and Woods.
“With his current state, I bet that will cause a big confusion in the midst of those Mafias. He’s like their main head after all,” The Beta said, revealing Woods survival to Diego’s brutal attack on him.
“Shoot! I really wanted him to die. I can’t believe he survived,” I frowned, still keeping my back to the wall and peeking in whenever I get the opportunity to do so.
I got another chance to spy into the office to see what was going on. Mostly, I was looking at Diego, admiring my Alpha’s charm and appearance.
He looked like one who was planning an outing in his new suit.
And to my surprise, I was right!
“Put a call through to Cassandra. Find out if she’s ready,” He instructed Arnold, giving him his phone.
“If she’s ready? Is he going on a date with her?” I asked myself, flashing to the day Casey showed me that picture of her with Diego at his office.
The way she tried to label him as a cheat when in reality she’s the real cheater who’s seeing another man behind her mate’s back.
Diego is only trying to get her to bring more of the substance to him, and it seems Casey has once again fallen for his plan.
I know it hurts but he’s doing this for me.
“I’ll do that now,” Arnold said, going through Diego’s phone while making a turn.
