The emotions in the room afterward were insane…
I looked down at Deucalion. I could see the blazing threads of magic that were holding him in place. I could almost feel how defeated he was at the moment.
Yara stirred within me as I realised that this situation was deeper and more complicated than how it seemed on the surface.
I felt bad for Andrea as she turned and walked out of the council. I looked up at her other sisters, Iris was so close to crying but she kept her straight. I admired her for her strength.
“So you mean to say that my wolves who were sacrificed, died because of your Luna?” Petr suddenly roared. “You and your Luna killed my people and you made me dance to your tunes this entire time?”
In a flash, he charged at Deucalion along with some other Alphas present in the court. Chaos broke out as they started landing punches and scratches on the defeated Deucalion’s body.
I knew he deserved this much but I could not bring myself to watch. I looked away immediately.
No one tried to stop the Alphas for a while until Albus nodded at Issa. Issa gritted his teeth before looking down at me.
“I’ll only be a minute,” he whispered as he gently detached his hand from mine.
I nodded and watched as he suddenly charged at the Alphas. Issa released an authoritative roar as he pushed them all aside and grabbed Deucalion.
The magic threads followed and wrapped around him, immobilizing him.
“As much as I want to see him dead, this is not the way. The council will have him tried and he must face justice before everyone for the lives that were lost,” Issa stated.
I smiled as I felt a warmth fill my heart for him. I was proud of him.
“That’s right, we will communicate the date for his trial but in the meantime, we all need to work together to find Luna Helena Craven and stop her before she makes another move,” Davina continued from where I stopped.
A set of guards appeared from the shadows, guards by the witches and they took Deucalion.
“You can’t stop what is coming, Issa. It is already upon us and it’s too late to stop it. The end of all werewolves is upon us,” Deucalion managed to say before he was taken away.
An involuntary shiver ran down my spine and I felt light headed. I suddenly felt the hair on my neck stand as goosebumps scattered across my skin.
Someone was watching me.
Whispers reached my ears and I looked around but I seemed to be the only one hearing it.
The whispers intensified and I finally started hearing clearly what they said.
“Child of light. . . Darkness is coming and when it reaches you, it shall seduce you like it did to me. . .”
My eyes went wide with shock as my heart started hammering hard. My body started trembling and I felt the warmth drain from my skin and a sudden coldness hit me.
“Darkness will come and it will seduce you. . .”
The sounds started overlapping and I started to feel as if I was drowning while standing. I saw a shadow appear and begin to consume all of the light in my vision.
It was slowly reaching for and just when it was almost about to make contact with my forehead-
“Yulia?” Issa’s voice sounded and snapped me awake.
The darkness disappeared and I was back in the court. People had started to leave and I was just standing in the center, with no aim.
“Are you okay?” He asked and I heard the hint of worry in his voice.
Was I to tell him about what I just felt or keep it to myself? Was it even real enough for me to cause drama?
Issa had already been through a lot for the past few days. It was better to keep it to myself. I had to have been hallucinating due to all of the things I had seen recently.
“I- I’m fine. I just feel tired,” I lied.
So he pulled me into a hug despite Davina, Iris and the lingering people’s watchful eyes.
He was warm and he made me feel safe in his arms. There was no way what I saw was real. It was just something made up in my head.
“Let’s go home, Issa,” I muttered.
“I knew you were going to handle it but I did not see it going in this direction,” Miles said as he made his way to us with Jamal by his side.
“This doesn’t change the fact that I still want to bring you before the council for your secret crimes,” Jamal stated and I smiled.
“Have no fear, you’ll get your turn,” I heard Issa say and I could not tell if they were both being serious or had learnt to joke with each other.
“Can we go home now?” I asked.
They nodded and we were about to leave when Iris suddenly appeared before us. Leia was following quietly behind her and I was awed by how Iris still raised her head high.
“With my father imprisoned, I’ll have to take his Alpha title as first female Alpha. It would have been a great alliance together if you chose me,” Iris said while completely ignoring me.
“Sadly, you’re not my mate,” Issa stated.
Iris looked down at me in disgust. “Well, it’s not over yet. Yulia is already breaking. . .”
I frowned.
She scoffed. “No one told you what happens to those blessed by the Light of the goddess did they? I might not need to do much before you completely destroy yourself.”
My heart sank as I widened my eyes at her. All she did was laugh as she left with her sister.
What was that supposed to mean? What happened to those blessed with Light?
I looked up at Issa and saw him tighten his lips. There was truth to this and no one had thought to tell me!
It took me back to the darkness hallucination I just had.
Was what I saw real? Was I going to destroy myself like she just claimed?
