The weather here was hot all year round, with the sun blazing in the sky.
So, the people here had very dark skin.
Jaden was sweating all over, his T-shirt sticking uncomfortably to his body. He fanned himself with one hand while talking on the phone. “Sylvia, the other side is too cunning, probably seasoned criminals. I think their target isn’t the child or Sierra, but you. Their goal is to lure you out. Damn bastards.”
“I understand,” Sylvia nodded. “Call over the brothers from the Dark Night division to help. I refuse to believe we can’t find this little beggar. The beggar delivering the message is our only clue. How’s the surveillance going?”
“Peter has already found the van’s license plate. We located the van in the woods outside the city, but it was empty when we got there. The van was stolen by them, so… the trail went cold.” Jaden took out a green tag. “This was found inside the van. Not sure where it’s from. It’s green…”
“It must have been dropped by the bandits in their hurry to take the child. Send me a photo of the tag; I’ll investigate it.” Sylvia’s face showed no emotion, but she was worried about the child’s safety.
If anything happened to the child, it would be her fault for involving Sierra and her child.
They were innocent.
And she didn’t want to be responsible for their suffering.
So, the child must live and be rescued!
Thinking of this, she frowned deeply. “Report to me immediately if anything comes up. I’ll start investigating the origin of this green tag.”
“Yes, Sylvia.”
Not long after hanging up the video call, Sylvia received a photo from Jaden.
The green tag was small like a badge, with a carved wolf totem on its green surface, which was unsettling.
What organization would use such a green thing as a token?
Sylvia couldn’t help but twitch her mouth.
It felt oddly abnormal.
Franklin was still investigating which research institute’s blueprints they had found.
So Sylvia didn’t bother him and instead contacted Alby and a few colleagues from Secretly, Greatly.
Simeon replied directly, “My dear sister, my dear Sylvia, when are you going to shoot Princess Sharon? The online demand is high; let’s not miss the best timing, okay?”
Sylvia felt a headache coming on. “Now’s not the time to talk about this. I’ve been really busy lately and don’t have time for this.”
How could he be talking about this at such a time?
Any actress with a bit of spirit could play Princess Sharon, right?
“What about the script? My dear sister, hasn’t Brock asked you for it?” Simeon retreated to a secondary request.
“The script isn’t ready yet. Let’s talk about it when I’m done with this busy period. It’s not an urgent matter.” Sylvia’s headache worsened. “Alright, stop distracting me. I need to find Alby and Bighead!”
“Alright!” Simeon reluctantly let go of this rare opportunity to catch Sylvia.
Alby quickly replied to Sylvia, “That’s a small group called Tremaine Family in the red-light district, but I heard… they are affiliated with Jade Dragons. You know… this Tremaine Family isn’t good either.”
“I understand. I’ll have my Dark Night team investigate further.”
Secretly, Greatly had quick access to information on the dark web, so Alby found this information swiftly.
Sylvia then informed Jaden about the relationship between Tremaine Family and Jade Dragons.
After doing all this, she realized it was already late at night.
She looked around and realized she was in Franklin’s private villa study.
Knowing she was busy, Franklin hadn’t disturbed her.
She felt a surge of gratitude.
Opening the study door, she saw that the lights downstairs were still on.
She walked down suspiciously and smelled a faint aroma of food.
Heading towards the dining room, she saw a delicate supper laid out on the table.
Simple red bean porridge, fruit salad, and mashed potatoes.
Franklin came out of the kitchen upon hearing her footsteps, still wearing a floral apron.
He looked at her indulgently. “You’ve been busy all night; you must be tired. I made some porridge and a simple supper. Try it.”
He wasn’t good at complicated dishes, but these simple ones were manageable. For mashed potatoes, he just peeled and steamed them before adding some tomato sauce.
Fruit salad was even easier; just cut up some fruit and add salad dressing.
Red bean porridge was just washing red beans and boiling them with water.
So… he also boiled some edamame.
All very simple and convenient dishes.
This time he believed he hadn’t messed up.
He brought over the freshly boiled edamame and placed it in front of Sylvia.
He took off his apron and sat beside her, peeling an edamame and putting it in her bowl. “Try the edamame.”
Sylvia almost spat out after one bite.
She looked at Franklin with a complex expression. “How much salt did you put?”
“I put three big spoonfuls. Why?” Franklin peeled one for himself and immediately frowned. “It’s too salty; don’t eat it!”
It was so salty it tasted bitter and made one want to vomit.
He dumped the edamame into the trash can. “Don’t eat it; it’s too bad.”
Sylvia wanted to laugh but held back.
She started eating the salad and mashed potatoes.
The supper combination was odd, but thinking of this man clumsily making supper in the kitchen filled her heart with gratitude and joy.
Who cared what it was? As long as it was edible.
This wasn’t just supper; it was his heartfelt effort.
He offered his sincere heart; how could she not accept and reciprocate?
As she was lost in thought, Franklin’s handsome face showed a warm smile, his eyes bright like diamonds. He opened his thin lips and kissed her on the corner of her lips, then licked it gently.
“You had something there; I cleaned it for you.”
Sylvia blushed as he licked away the mashed potatoes from her lips…
Shameless!
Luckily they were alone in the villa!
After supper, Sylvia offered to wash the dishes, but Franklin pushed her out of the kitchen. “Go rest; I’ll wash them.”
Sylvia smiled and returned to the bedroom.
Once there, she went straight to the bathroom for a shower.
As she turned on the shower, someone opened the door. She looked up to see Franklin slowly unbuttoning his shirt after taking off his jacket.
“What are you doing?” she asked uneasily.
Franklin raised an elegant eyebrow and smiled. “We’ll shower together to save time.”
He unbuttoned another button and turned to hang his shirt, revealing a perfectly toned body that made any woman’s heart race.
The sight made Sylvia’s eyes waver as Franklin’s deep voice sounded, “Help me wash.”
Sylvia instinctively wanted to refuse but found herself walking over and reaching out…
Two minutes later.
Franklin’s lips curved slightly as he watched her busy hands. “Help me wash my back.”
Sylvia initially thought she’d be subjected to all sorts of things in the bathroom…
But he did nothing; he just watched her inscrutably.
Thinking of how he had made supper for her so considerately, washing his back seemed like nothing.
So she didn’t think much more about it.
After washing him, she prepared to leave.
But Franklin suddenly grabbed her waist from behind and pulled her into his arms.
His suppressed voice whispered in her ear, “Honey, where are you going?”
Sylvia’s arms pressed against his still damp chest as she replied firmly, “To sleep.”
But he pulled her closer and kissed her shoulder lightly.
Her freshly showered skin was sensitive, making her feel like fireworks were exploding in her mind.
Her whole body tingled as she tried to escape but couldn’t… Franklin had no intention of letting her go.
Recently she’d been so busy… he’d been just as busy with no time for themselves. Now they were finally alone without interruptions…
So…
Morning sunlight streamed through the window.
It shone on Franklin’s bare upper body, highlighting his perfect physique in an eye-catching way.
Sylvia opened her eyes to this enticing scene.
After a night of non-stop activity, she felt exhausted and sore.
She moved slightly to check the time but found her phone turned off.
Last night she’d been forcibly carried from the bathroom to the bedroom by this man, each moment heart-pounding.
Her eyes lingered on Franklin’s still-sleeping face-handsome beyond belief.
His sharp features softened in sleep but remained strikingly handsome.
Yawning, she sat up and gazed at him with warm sunlight casting a golden glow on him-so beautiful.
Especially those full lips-they looked so sensual…
Unable to resist, she lightly touched his lips with her finger.
Suddenly Franklin opened his mouth and bit her finger gently but firmly with his warm lips enclosing it.
Sylvia jumped in surprise and tried to pull back but couldn’t as he held tight.
His star-like eyes sparkled mischievously as he looked at her while she pleaded softly, “Let go; it hurts a bit.”
Her husky voice softened his heart as he released her finger showing faint teeth marks.
Damn man!
