Mia’s POV
He didn’t seem to like the idea of what I said, as he was still shocked, but I wanted to convince him that the only person who can save him now is me. We can’t just leave him to die like that. We need to try at least to save him. I have the white wolf in me, and I’ve been healing everyone, so why can’t I save my biological father?
“You shouldn’t risk your life to save him. It’s been hopeless. We’ve been trying for years to no avail. I know you have the blood of the white wolf, but you can’t just do whatever you want with it,” he told me.
I took his hands in mine. I could see that he was going through so much pain, trying to save his father for years, and now there was some glimmer of hope in his eyes. Even though he wants to deny it, he doesn’t want me to do it. Yet, it feels like he wants me to do it more than I think.
“I’m going to be fine. It’s nothing new to me. If I can use my blood to save my own father, then I will do it. I wasn’t able to save my mother, and now I found my real family. Do you want me to let it slip through my hands again?” I replied to him.
“It’s still very dangerous when you think of it. I can’t help but worry about you. I know you understand what I’m talking about,” he continued to voice his concerns.
“I’m going to be fine. Why don’t you just trust me this once and give me a chance to prove myself? See if I can save him or not,” I said confidently.
I do have a few doubts because I don’t know what exactly I’m going through, but since my blood has been curing so many things so far, he should be able to wake up with my blood clearing his poison. Even if it takes me days, a year, or many years, I’m going to try to save his life as long as he is alive.
“As long as he is still alive, there is hope of him waking up. Don’t let this slip. I can save our father. I want to meet him too,” I insisted.
He thought about it for a moment and looked at me. I saw he was still considering the options. It felt good to know that he cared about me and didn’t want me to hurt myself while trying to save our father, but it’s a matter of life or death. Besides, I quickly recover from these things. It won’t mean anything if I give him some of my blood.
He finally looked at me like he had given up and couldn’t argue with me anymore, which made me happy because I knew it wouldn’t be long before he accepted the fact that I’m the only one who can save my father now.
“I’m going to let you do this by giving you a chance. I’m not giving you this chance so that you can throw your life away. You have to be careful and promise me you won’t get yourself hurt to do this,” he demanded.
“Doing this practically means I will be getting hurt every time since the blood is coming from me, so I don’t know how I can promise that.”
“What I’m trying to say is that if it’s too much for you, you shouldn’t push yourself to try saving him. Your life is very important, and he will never forgive me if he finds out that I made you lose it,” he explained to me.
I immediately understood what he meant by that and assured him I would be fine.
“Then I will come pick you up to take you back to the pack by tomorrow. Since you agreed to do it, you should do it as soon as possible so we know what will happen,” he suggested.
I accepted his suggestion. “Of course. I’ll be ready by tomorrow so that I can go with you, but I have to talk to my family tonight about everything.”
“Take your time. They’re your family, after all, and they’ve been with you for a while. Of course, you have to tell them before you do something as huge as this,” he accepted it.
After wishing him goodbye, I decided to go to my uncle and explain things to them. I decided to do it once everyone was done with dinner at night. It’s going to be a huge decision for me, and they probably won’t support it.
“Uncle, I have something to announce about the decision I made with my brother,” I said to them.
Everyone turned around to look at me. Daisy was also confused, as I hadn’t told her about it. Most of the time when I make decisions, she is always aware of what I do since we are best friends.
“It’s about my father-I mean, my biological father. I know you probably don’t like him, and there’s been a lot of misunderstanding in the past, but right now he’s sick and probably going to die soon.”
Daisy nodded. “I mean, it’s understandable if you want to go and see him. He’s your father after all, and you haven’t been able to see him for years. You should at least know what he looks like.”
My uncle agreed with her. “Daisy is right. You should know what your father looks like, so if that’s what you want to say to us, it’s fine. Go with him. I will arrange some guards to follow you.”
“No, Uncle. I want to go on my own. Besides, I’m not just going there to see my father. He has been poisoned for a few years, and now I want to save his life with my blood,” I announced.
The moment I said that, everywhere went silent, and I knew they were probably going to criticize me for saying something like that. But there was nothing more I could do about it.
“Have you thought about this properly? You haven’t even met him before, and you want to give him your blood? What if something happens to you while you’re trying to save his life?” Damon objected, just like I expected.
Daisy also supported her brother. “My brother is right. What if something happens to you? Saving someone in a coma is not an easy thing to do. You have to give him lots of your blood. Just because you have healing power doesn’t mean you can save everyone.”
I looked down. I know I can’t save everyone, but I’ve been wanting to do this for a very long time in my life. I wanted to meet who my real family is and my father-the one my mother has been hiding from me for a very long time. Now that I found an opportunity to meet him, I will do everything to save his life.
“But-” Damon tried to say, but Uncle cut him off.
“My sister went through a lot to raise her, and I know she didn’t have a good childhood either. But her father did nothing wrong, so she can go see him. Perhaps she could hear the story of what exactly happened between them that we don’t know about,” Uncle explained.
“But that can only happen if she can save his life. If she doesn’t survive this, how are you going to explain it to your sister in her grave?” Damon continued to oppose it.
I stood up to show my determination to him. “I’m sorry, cousin, but I have to do this. I knew it wasn’t going to be easy to tell you this, but I did it out of respect and gratitude for everything you have done for me. However, I have control of my life, and I should make my own decisions.”
He probably realized that I was starting to get offended by the fact that he kept going against my wishes to save my father, and he immediately apologized.
“I’m sorry, Mia. I’m just worried about you. I hope you don’t take it to heart. Of course, I want your father to live,” he said to me.
I shook my head. “It’s okay. I understand how you feel, and I’m grateful that you care about me like this. I won’t let you down.”
Daisy stood up and hugged me. “Don’t worry, you’re not alone in this. You have us with you. If you need help or anything, you can call us at any time. If you take too long there, I’m coming to see you.”
I smiled at her. “Thank you, everyone, for respecting my decisions. I will be back soon, and I will be safe.”
